Multiple Install Attempts - Still No Drivers Found For Usb Wifi Adapter
Sep 9, 2012bought a mini usb wifi adapter for my new computer i built from monoprice. the website says all u need to do is download the drivers from realtek and install and the unit will run. ive tried to install the driver multiple times, and when i go into the devices window, it says there is no device installed for the adapter. also after attempting to install, a bubble pops up on the task bar saying that driver did not install correctly after setup completes and reboots.

Jul 13, 2012today my Belkin 7050 wifi adapter arrived.I went through the install procedure from the cd,and when asked to plug in the adapter,I got the message asking for a notebook card,which I haven't got.It then told me that the drivers aren't installed.The device isn't showing in device manager.I called Belkin support but all the could suggest was that the device was to try it in another computer.I am unable to do this because the communal computer needs administrator rights to install programs etc.

My laptop refuses to access the internet though the WiFi signal is strong (my Android phone connects instantly). I am currently in a hotel so cannot mess with the router (as advised by Windows help!). I have a similar problem in one airport lounge but generally it's fine, and at home I have no problem at all. It will connect for a while but them loses it and it stays lost for ages.

Mar 10, 2012I came into an old Win 7 computer (64-bit) with a WMP54G v4.0 wireless card in it. Apparently the driver had already been installed previously but when I booted the computer it didn't acknowledge the existence of the card or drivers. I installed the driver from here[url]... and restarted the computer when prompted (the card was already in the computer). Upon restart the setup was supposed to complete, but it never came up. When I re-ran the setup it just said the driver is already installed.The card still isn't being recognized, scanning for new hardware in the device manager doesn't bring it up. There is an entry for a "Network Controller" with no driver installed, it may be the WMP54G but trying to manually install the driver doesn't work. Windows just says it can't find the driver even when I point the install wizard right to its location.

I downloaded the tar.gz, extracted it, and double clicked on misc/<some long filename>.deb, which opened up the software center, and I hit install.Installation fails saying the dkms dependency failed, but I have dkms installed.

Aug 11, 2011I am using two desktops. One is an old Windows XP running SP3, and the other is a new Windows 7. Neither PC is wireless. I set up the modem through the Windows 7 computer, and it is connected to the wireless modem through the Ethernet cable. (I hope that I am saying all of this correctly.) It's running just fine.Because the other PC is not wireless, I purchased a NETGEAR wireless USB adapter, go through installation and setup, starts and finds my SSID, add WEP key, etc, etc. In the bottom corner of the software it says the signal is good. In the toolbar it says the adapter is connected to the modem.Next to it, though, the network connections icon shows:
Wireless Network Connection
Speed: 24Mbps
Signal Strength: Good
Status: Limited or no connectivity
And so, of course, I have no connection to the Internet. Using the modem through Ethernet on the XP computer (switching the situation around, in other words) is not an option; the only phone line for connecting the modem to the wall is too far away.(It was stated more than once that I should use WPA instead of WEP; I haven't made it that far yet... I'm just trying to get this other computer connected.)

Jul 18, 2012I got a Acer Laptop from my buddy that had windows 7 and when he had it his harddrive had crashed so he put in a older harddrive in it and installed windows Vista. Doing that caused the ethernet and network adapter to not work at all (says it need drivers) and I can't access the internet at all on it. I don't know if I can grab the drivers somewhere else or if I have to just count my losses.

Feb 23, 2013At one time this D-link adapter was installed on this same computer but somehow the drivers got deleted.I am trying to reinstall. The computer is running Windows XP Professional. I downloaded the driver from Dlink's web site and unzipped the files on the computer.The Ethernet Controller shows up in Device Manager with the yellow ? so I right click it and the click on Update Drivers. But when I tell it to install the drivers a window comes up saying it cannot install because it cannot find the necessary software.
