Recently, nearly every time I start up my computer, I can't connect to the internet. I have internet, as says my modem, what I don't have is an internet adapter. I've checked the device manager, and network and sharing center, and it just doesn't exist. I restart a few times and by chance it finds the adapter and I can connect. I have no idea what's going on, as Googling has not worked much at all.[CODE]
View -1 RepliesMy network adapter is always disabled at startup. When I go to network and sharing centre - it shows that it is enabled. I dsable it, then enable it, and I can then go online. It is just annoying that I should have to do this each time before I can access the internet?

Everything looks like its working great except it seems as if ive lost all drivers necessary to connect to the internet. Pretty much the computer can't even tell that theres a network adapter installed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a Acer Laptop from my buddy that had windows 7 and when he had it his harddrive had crashed so he put in a older harddrive in it and installed windows Vista. Doing that caused the ethernet and network adapter to not work at all (says it need drivers) and I can't access the internet at all on it. I don't know if I can grab the drivers somewhere else or if I have to just count my losses.

You can connect fine on all the others. I am running Windows 7 SP1, and in the network window, I can see the computers, but when I click on them to connect, it says "The network path was not found". If I access them via their IP in windows explorer, then I can access them . I have never seen this before. I attempted to disable Norton, I even un-installed it, and it still does the same thing.

I am having trouble with my Wifi Driver. I have tried to install the driver many times but when I restart it shows that Wifi adapter is disabled. When I go to Device Manager to enable, In Network adapter, it shows the driver with the yellow triangle and exclamation mark and is already enabled. I dont know if I am missing anything while installing the driver. Last week I called the Dell support center for the same and they told that they can fix it if they get a remote access. But I can only access the internet via Wifi which is not working.

I've been having this problem for a few weeks, at first I thought it was the internet itself, but the other computers in the house are fine. A few times a day it just suddenly stops working and in the bottom right hand corner of the screen in the internet options section it says currently connected to : unidentified network. when I click connect again it says wireless adapter not found, "Wireless Network Connection"doesn't have a vailid IP configuration. View 15 Replies View RelatedI recently got a new laptop with Windows 7 running 64bit OS. Setup the laptop with no firewall and no Antivirus programs. After installing the Any connect 2.5 VPN application I was able to successful connect to our ASA. I noticed if my laptop went into standby mode or if I rebooted the laptop the "Cisco Anyconnect Agent" is not running under service even though it is set to Automatic.
I have uninstalled and reinstall with no success and have even tried the new version 3.x with the same result. If I go into services and start the anyconnect agent I can launch the application and connect to my company with no problems. I was able to replicate this issue on a co-workers new laptop running Win7 64 that has no applications on it.
I am using two desktops. One is an old Windows XP running SP3, and the other is a new Windows 7. Neither PC is wireless. I set up the modem through the Windows 7 computer, and it is connected to the wireless modem through the Ethernet cable. (I hope that I am saying all of this correctly.) It's running just fine.Because the other PC is not wireless, I purchased a NETGEAR wireless USB adapter, go through installation and setup, starts and finds my SSID, add WEP key, etc, etc. In the bottom corner of the software it says the signal is good. In the toolbar it says the adapter is connected to the modem.Next to it, though, the network connections icon shows:
Wireless Network Connection
Speed: 24Mbps
Signal Strength: Good
Status: Limited or no connectivity
And so, of course, I have no connection to the Internet. Using the modem through Ethernet on the XP computer (switching the situation around, in other words) is not an option; the only phone line for connecting the modem to the wall is too far away.(It was stated more than once that I should use WPA instead of WEP; I haven't made it that far yet... I'm just trying to get this other computer connected.)
Any way to install this excellent WiFi adapter on Ubuntu?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI installed windows xp on a pc that had no OS it previously had windows xp sp3 but I deleted the partion by mistake, so I went down to windows home sp3. after the setup I have no Internet access atall, whenever I try making a dial up etc it just doesn't work, I am using a fairly old computer optilex 6x620 just for browsing, but I have to swtich to Ubunutu to get internet access which is so slow.

I did a system restore on it back to before the windows update and the internet was working just fine but then there was an automatic windows update again and the connection is gone again. When I try to troubleshoot it says the network adapter is not working properly. I'm currently using the main computer in the house. I can't access any network at all on my laptop and I'm nearly in tears. This has happened before about 7 months ago after a windows update. At that time I did a system restore and reinstalled the updates and it worked just fine. This time nothing. I have tried to check for updated drivers for the network adapters but windows says I'm running the recent ones.
