View 6 Replies View RelatedMy computer can no longer connect to the internet. As I do not use an Ethernet cable, my concern is the wireless aspect. I am running Windows 7 on an HP laptop, and when I troubleshoot the problem all it pops up with is "Local Area Connection 4 adapter is disabled". When I try repairs as an administrator it just repeats the fact that the adapter is disabled, but does not provide a way for me to fix this. I have also tried going through Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Troubleshooting > Network and Internet and selecting the network adapter option, selecting the Local Area Connection 4 to diagnose. It then said troubleshooting couldn't identify a problem.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhenever I troubleshoot a random internet connection shut off, the diagnostic is "Local Cable Connection 2 Adapter is disabled." Weirdest part is that I am connecting via WiFi.I've had this problem since college freshman year (I am a college junior). It only occurs at school, but the school tried fixing it and "everything" works fine. The internet basically shuts off every hour or so. It's tedious to sign back on and starting this year, I am starting to use a program that requires online internet connectivity for the program to function.

I 've had my Netflix player hooked up and working for almost a year and have never encountered this problem. View 2 Replies View RelatedI successfully installed the AirLink101 AWLL6075 Adapter, however it cannot find networks because the Wireless Monitor section is always checked as being "Disabled". When I uncheck the box, a few seconds later it comes right back to Disabled with the check mark again.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem getting serial interfaces to show up with a NM4A/S card in a 3745 router. It worked at first but now the serial interfaces don't show up in running-config but show diag shows the card is present but says "Port adapter is disabled deactivated". I have tried the card in 3 different slots and of course turned off power when moving card around (left power cord in for grounding). Again, it was once working (serial interfaces were showing up in running-config) so if I damaged the slot somehow, however I was very careful when seating card. Have been searching the learning network and google for days now to no avail. Have tried to find something similar to the card type command thinking the port adapter needs to be activated but have not found any documentation about that. Hope card isn't bad all of a sudden but really don't think it is since it worked before and it seems to be recognized just not showing serial interfaces in running-config/sh ip int b (on ios/cli). Really think it's something along the lines of activating card, but not sure.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy laptop won't connect to the internet at all and status shows limited access to router. It was fine a few days ago until a Windows update. I did a system restore on it back to before the windows update and the internet was working just fine but then there was an automatic windows update again and the connection is gone again. When I try to troubleshoot it says the network adapter is not working properly. I'm currently using the main computer in the house. I can't access any network at all on my laptop and I'm nearly in tears. This has happened before about 7 months ago after a windows update. At that time I did a system restore and reinstalled the updates and it worked just fine. This time nothing. I have tried to check for updated drivers for the network adapters but windows says I'm running the recent ones.
View 8 Replies View RelatedRecently, nearly every time I start up my computer, I can't connect to the internet. I have internet, as says my modem, what I don't have is an internet adapter. I've checked the device manager, and network and sharing center, and it just doesn't exist. I restart a few times and by chance it finds the adapter and I can connect. I have no idea what's going on, as Googling has not worked much at all.[CODE]

But after upgrading it to Windows 8, my Local Area Connection now becomes Unidentified Network so I can't give my Xbox internet connection again. In diagnose the problem it says that "Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP Configuration.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy network adapter is always disabled at startup. When I go to network and sharing centre - it shows that it is enabled. I dsable it, then enable it, and I can then go online. It is just annoying that I should have to do this each time before I can access the internet?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been hacking at this problem for two days and can not figure it out.I built a new computer ASUS M3A78-T and installed windows 7 64bit everything was working fine. I did not validate the version of windows because I was waiting to replace the 500g hard drive with a 120 ssd. By the time I recieved the ssd windows validation time had expired, I tried to validate the version of windows and I could not because the network adapter was now gone! This is strange because when I first built it it as fine and I was all over the internet via broadband ethernet cable. Now the internet box has a red x and will not recognize the cable and no lights are flashing on the back as well. It seems I ned to reinstall the driver so I used another computer and downloaded the only LAN file from ASUS website and nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a new built system, worked great 5 days, major trojan forced a reformat of drive. Now Win 7 64 Device Manager is empty- no network adapter found - I get the notice that "there are no properly installed network adapters". I use the on-board network adapter on the mobo, no plug in network card, hard wired to DSL -- like I said, it worked fine for a few days now it's GONE after reformat.

I've found the right one and it still want install. Says it's the wrong one but i'm pretty sure it's the right one. I just did a fresh install where i put windows 7 extreme on a laptop and i can't seem to ge the right drivers i guess. I don't know if it's the wrong driver or a bad NIC Card.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy desktops _usually_ connect, and then the connection will drop/go slow(14400 slow)/give that little yelow triangle on top of the wifi icon.First i had an edimax wifi PCI, now i have a trendnet wifi PCI. They both do the same thing. If i connect my HTC hero and start internet sharing, it works very well, and is stable. My ethernet works fine as well. It is like my computer is immune to PCI cards?I have tried with different wifi APs now, but its still the same.I have a zyxel adsl modem, and a linksys wifi AP hooked up to that. I noticed, that when my desktop is connected, the zyxel will get some kind of overflow from the linksys. It says "client reached max number of sessions per host" It's like my desktop is killing the network. I have tried many things. Drivers, fail safe, registry cleaner(I know), killing all unnescessary program, switching the PCI ports, but none of it seems to work.
I had my laptop running connectify (access point app) and it actually worked fine, but today it won't connect to that either.I'm going to create another partition on my harddrive, and install fresh windows 7 on that, and see if it does the same. But even if it doesn't I _want_ to find out what is causing this instabillity. When i try running the network diagnostics, it says DNS error, or that the router is fail. But my laptop works fine. Also, when doing speed tests, my laptop gets normal speeds, and my desktop is VERY slow DL, but normal UL ?In speed tests my desktop is very slow, but stable, but during the test, my laptop will first go like 2 mb/s - 3mb/s DL and suddently BURST up to like 64 mb/s although i only have 10 mbit line? It's like its buffering or something. Very weird behaviour, but working fine. And no, i do not have torrent programs or whatever running. Some says that i shout try and change wifi channel and bands, and avoid "mixed" mode, but none of it works. Always the same problem.ATM. my computer can't connect to any wifi at all. It keeps having the yellow triangle.
I upgraded my pc to windows 7 and now i cant connect to the internet at all i have a wireless usb for internet that dont work and i plug a cord right into the back and it still dont work i troubleshooted and it said windows cannot find driver for your network adaptor i cant seem to find the driver i have a Windows 7 32bit pc and a cisco DCP3825 router

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Gateway Notebook Model ML6720 that has built-in Wireless. The PC was heavily infected by Virus and I had to re-install Vista Operating system. Now, it will not detect the Wireless Adapter. I went to the maufacturer's website on another computer and downloaded the driver and installed the driver on the laptop. However, it did not work. The blue "wireless" light on the laptop is "lit", however when I go to "Device Manager" and look at the Network Drives, it only shows the wired Ethernet option.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an i7-2700K system with MSI Z68A-GD80 MB running on Window 7. Awesome system. Only one issue. The Network Adapter section keeps disappearing from Device Manager, causing my ethernet to fail, no lights on either of the RJ45 ports with cable plugged in. All of the latest drivers are installed. I've Googled it and see others with the same problem and have followed the "temporary" solution - shut down the system, unplug it from the power supply, yank the memory out, press the power button with PSU unplugged to "bleed" the caps (or use the pwr/reset button on the MB before shutting it down), let it sit for several minutes (it takes mine at least an hour, so I'm thinking the system needs to be completely cooled down) and then put it all back together and turn it on. Network Adapter section shows up again, Ethernet lights return, internet works again.
This works until the next time the system shuts down and then I have to do this all over again. Extremely annoying problem. I'm not sure if it's a faulty MB or if there's an actual permanent fix.
Well one day i went onto my gaming PC and started playing, it randomly restarted and did some random windows check while starting. Then when i finally logged on i had no internet connection, my computer didnt sense there being a cable plugged in (Wired connection. The orange light wasn't on) So i figured i should just reinstall windows anyway (Blue screens, ect) After i reinstall i have the same issues. I have moved it to a different room and still the same thing. If i can't fix it then i plan to just buy a USB wireless but i would like to see what others think what i should do before i go making hasty decisions.
The computer say "Windows could not find a driver for your network adapter" I have tried many things i have found on this forum and nothing. So maybe a link to a driver? my Router is a Linksys WRT54GL and has always worked.
