View 1 RepliesI just purchased an AE2500 today for my desktop computer because my router is in another room. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I tried installing the software from the disk first and it would not detect the adapter. But Windows did detect the device and I was able to manually install the drivers and in the control panel it says the device is working properly. When I go to the network sharing center no network is detected I then go to the netwokr adapters and the device is disabled. I try enabling the device and it will not. So then I go and boot in to Windows 8 RC and the device is detected and works fine and everything seems fine. I downloaded the driver from the website tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it with the downloaded version and still a no go.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my motherboard and I'm happy that the WUSB 300N is still working. Slightly annoying issue when I wake my computer from sleep. No internet connection and when I go to adapter settings, the WUSB 300n is disabled. If I click enable, nothing happens. The adapter will immediately come back to life and connect to the router and internet if I unplug it and then plug it back in (the usb connector).I also notice that the adapter is still on when my computer is asleep, all of the lights are still on and blinking, this is not the same behavior that it had before, then it would just appear to be completely off. The motherboard is a MSI P67A-GD65 with an intel i5 2500K. There are some different C-State power settings that I'm not familiar with (previously had an AMD based mobo and processor).

It will connect to the wired network, and give internet access, but it won't allow any connections via a wireless network adaptor.The laptop is on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.In device manager it says the wireless adaptor is working properly. The drivers are the latest. Down in the notification area it says "not connected - no connections are available". She has a wifi switch (Fn+F3) on the laptop, but switching it makes no difference. I have an old desktop pc that connects via a USB wifi dongle, so I plugged the dongle into the laptop. It installed without problems, but in the notification area it says the same thing, "not connected - no connections available" So now I'm thinking, "what sits between the network adaptors and Windows? How come it will connect on wired, but not wireless?"
This all started when I updated her Atheros wifi driver. From that moment on it wouldn't connect using wifi. I thought I had somehow physically broken the wifi adaptor hardware, so I bought a new one (a Killer n1202), but installing it made no difference. It's as though I have somehow altered the way that Windows communicates with any wireless adaptor.When I go to the command line and type "ipconfig /all", there is no entry for "wireless LAN adaptor wireless network connection", as there is on my other laptop.

View 4 Replies View Related1) I had Windows XP 2012 Security virus that I removed. The antivirus software also removed afs.sys and afs.reg file, that I repalced from backup. I also copied and merged afs.reg Doing this got me an ipaddress for my PC.
2) I can not connect my wired desktop to the Internet. I can ping the ip address of google.com but not the url. I can also not ping ip address of netgear.com. My laptop has no problem connecting to the wireless network.
3) I ran Winsockxpfix and flushed dns and no luck. [code]
I can't create a network bridge in windows xp or well i can, but then my wusb600n says it is not connected, it can find networks but it wont connect to them? I tried take out the lan cable and create but with same result, is this normal that this adapter can't handle network bridge? If i make a virtual machine in Virtualbox i can use the internet, but i cant when i create a network bridge connection in windows xp..

Drivers are succesfully installed and the Device status says "Device is working properly" but when I want to connect to a network it doesnot show any networks. View 5 Replies View Relatedusing virus scanner over the network and this is related to my workplace. a pc with win xp can share all drives (including c:) over the network with another pc with win xp as well. let's say pc1 and pc2 (both with win xp). i can scan pc2 from pc1 once i hv shared all the drives. but for win vista n 7, i found out that it is not possible to share c:...yes, there are some ways to share it but the entire c: cannot be shared. n i also know that c: cannot be shared entirely due to security purposes. but can i bypass this only for virus scanning purpose? i know many will juz ask me to install the anti virus on the infected pc, but if possible i want to scan it over the network. if i hv to scan 20 PCs at the same time i find it easier to do it from a single pc than to install the anti-virus at every single pc.

Now, after I bought a new router (TBLink) my laptop cannot access internet through this router wirless netowrk, and cannot even make ping command to the router address.I tried many things to work around this problem: reinstall the driver of Wireless adapter, change the connection setting on both router and computer, cleaning ARP Cash ...etc.
1) the router works fine for other wireless devices like my HTC widows mobile phone and other laptop running Windows 7.
2) When I assign a static IP for my laptop it can connect to the network but still could not make the ping command to the router or reach any network resources.
3) I have Bitdefender Internet Security running and up to date.
I have a windows 7 laptop and when I connect it the a wired connection it disables the wireless & 3G connections, but when I unplug the cable it doesn't renable the connections, I have to go into the network connections and select each one and renable it again.

I am running Windows 7 on an HP laptop, and when I troubleshoot the problem all it pops up with is "Local Area Connection 4 adapter is disabled". When I try repairs as an administrator it just repeats the fact that the adapter is disabled, but does not provide a way for me to fix this. I have also tried going through Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Troubleshooting > Network and Internet and selecting the network adapter option, selecting the Local Area Connection 4 to diagnose. It then said troubleshooting couldn't identify a problem.
