My system problem is after starting the computer within 5minits network services are disabled and network path not connected but communication is working when i am testing the ping command.
View 1 RepliesI've been having some issues with my network connectivity for a while now, and I haven't been able to figure out what the problem is. I run a wired connection to an Ethernet port in the wall of my university dorm. I have verified that it is not a global network issue or an ISP issue; this problem only happens on my PC.My network connection drops/disconnects randomly throughout the day. When I say disconnect/drop, I mean that all attempts to ping or access the internet fail. A few minutes pass before the Network and Sharing center task tray icon shows a warning sign saying that my computer could not connect to the internet.This is temporarily fixed by doing an ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew, but I have to execute these two commands about 2-3 times a day on average.
There is no exact interval between the disconnects, nor does it happen when I am running particular programs. The disconnect happens regardless of what I am doing at the moment (gaming, browsing the internet, leaving the computer idle).A month back, I installed some Windows Updates and suddenly my internet connection was almost completely broken. I was experiencing the same issue, but much more frequently. My internet would die within 10 seconds of executing any download, but Windows wouldn't recognize that something was wrong. At first I thought the ZoneAlarm, Avast!, or the SafeConnect (as required by my university) services were causing trouble but uninstalling/disabling these services did not fix the problem.I also tried reverting to my default ethernet drivers, which did nothing. I uninstalled and reinstalled multiple versions of my drivers to no avail.However, the internet worked just fine in Safe Mode with Networking, so I cross-referenced the processes/services running in Safe Mode w/ Networking against my normal startup, guessing something else was at play.After some poking around, I discovered that disabling the Server and Browser services permanently fixed the issue of instant connection death. But the initial problem I described still remains;random, less frequent internet connection drops.
i have 9 pcs on a lan. when i attempt to view the workgrp i get a message that indicates the the workgrp is not accessible and network path not found. i have tuned off windows and mcafee firewalls so that the only firewall functioning is with the modem/router(netopia) if i change the workgrp to the default(mshome) i can see the pcs.

Laptop2 connects to the Livebox via a Broadcom 802.11g adapter.There is no problem with any of these accessing the internet. Until recently (not sure how long ago) there was no problem with any of them accessing each other.Yesterday we discovered that laptop2 has lost contact with PC. All other connections are fine (including PC to laptop2). I have checked evrything I can think of and have carried out a System Restore taking the machine back as far as I can but that has made no differenceLaptop2 appears to recognise the workgroup in its 'preferred networks' box but the PC does not appear in its list of computers on the network and any attempt to access the network (My Network Places>Entire Network>Microsoft Windows Network & click on MSHOME) results in "you do not have permission ..." then followed by "Windows cannot find the network path.."

When the David-PC (win 7) tries to access the SharpeLaptop (XP) i get error code 0x80070035; NETWORK PATH NOT FOUND. This fails on wireless or ethernet hookup. All PC's are using McAfee Virus software which is supplied with ATT U-verse service. Trying to access the the daves-dell PC (XP) works fine Either of the 2 XP PC's can access the David-PC OK. The only failure is trying to access the laptop from the David-PC.If I disable the McAfee firewall on the laptop, then the David-PC can access the laptop. You can connect fine on all the others. I am running Windows 7 SP1, and in the network window, I can see the computers, but when I click on them to connect, it says "The network path was not found". If I access them via their IP in windows explorer, then I can access them . I have never seen this before. I attempted to disable Norton, I even un-installed it, and it still does the same thing.

The hard drive itself is just fine, and I've backed up those files on an external hard drive. What I would like to do is allow my parents to access them through Samba. Samba has already been in long time use, but it is configured to only allow access in a jail inside each user's home folder on the root hard drive. I have a suitable hard drive already formatted and mounted that can fit all the pictures that they wish to have access too. What I'd like to do, is change the path that one of my users use to the mounted hard drive.

About 3 PCs in the office are connected to the office server through wireless connection (including mine), and another 3 are connected through a wired connection. My connection to the server doesn't work at times. I get an error message that "An error occurred while connecting to . The network path was not found." The other PCs using the network have no problem connecting to the server. Also, the internet connection is shared from the server and I have no trouble with it. The problem is only with accessing the shared folder on the server.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my home LAN I have computers running Ubuntu 10.10, Win XP, Win7 32 bit and Win 7 64 bit, as well as an Iomega Home Network Media Drive. I can share files and folders between Ubuntu and XP without problem. I can CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) to the Iomega device from all the computers. I can share folders when using the 64-bit Win 7 computer that are located on the XP computer.
I can see the 'users/Public' folder on the 64bit Win 7 computer from the XP computer (but that folder being empty, this access is not a lot of use - a secondary probelm). I cannot see my 'user name' files/folders on the Win 7 computer from the XP computer
From Computer, Network on the Win 7 computer I can see the Ubuntu computer by name (approximately - it's all in upper case, which is not correct as far as Ubuntu is concerned).
I cannot access files on the Ubuntu computer via its name - I receive the usual 'network path not found' error, inviting me to check the spelling of the computer, which I can see is wrong, but which I can find no way to correct.
If I try to access the Ubuntu computer by IP address, then I am presented with an 'Enter Network Password' panel. I have never allocated a network password, so I have no idea what user name or password to enter here. If I enter my valid account name forthe Win 7 machine, along with its valid password, then a Logon failure is reported: 'unknown user name or bad password'. If I use the single valid user name and password for the target Ubuntu computer, I receive the same failure message. I thought I had set the same user name on both computers (I certainly have the same password), but for reasons best known to Bill Gates, the username on the Win 7 computer has been initially capitalised, making it absolutely not the same as any valid user name on the Ubuntu computer.
So, in short, I can find no way to access the Ubuntu computer from Win 7. Further more the Ubuntu computer cannot see the Win 7 computer in the windows network at all.
I have the same internet security software (Comodo) running on all Windows computers. It is enabled on the XP computer. It is disabled on the Win 7 computer - but with no effect on the failure to connect.
I'm studying for a Cisco certification and I'm trying to wrap my head around the routing. I understand how routers work for the most part and how the get updates about networks and how many hops away they are, but I don't get what happens when a router doesn't know the path to a network.

I just installed the 4200v2 as a replacement for a NetGear. I bought for the n performance and the USB for a shared disk/media file server. I connected a640G Western Digital My Book to the USB. I was able to see the drive in the asp interface of the router, but I kept getting the "error code: 0x80070035 network path not found" message. My computer is a 6 month old HP with Windows 7 running Bitdefender Internet. I found I could get to the drive from my wife's Toshiba (only used for browsing, so minimal security), so I thought it was a firewall issue (also what Cisco said). After doing some Internet mining, I found that the issue is the Netbios setting in IPv4. My PC had the setting Default, which requires the DHCP server to provide the setting and apparently this was not set by the 4200. Without Netbios the disk cannot be mapped. Changing this to NetBios "enabled" solved the problem. This can be reached by going into the Control panel:Network and Sharing Center. Click on the connection (either local area or wireless), then open the properties, click on the TCPv4, Click properties, then advanced. Go to the Win tab and select Netbios enabled.

I recently upgraded from Linksys WRT54G to D-Link DIR-655 firmware version 2.0. All the features are working as advertised however i am having difficulties accessing UPnP services in my network. I have a Samsung 55" internet enabled TV connected to the router and also have few devices that can stream over UPnP to the TV. The option to enable the UPnP is enabled in the router configuration however its not finding devices in the network ... comparing that with Linksys ... all i had to do is enable the UPnP and all my devices discovered each other and started streaming without any issue. View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had a Linksys WRT54GS running DD-WRT (build 14929) for a while. I recently bought another Linksys (Cisco) router (WRT160NL) and installed DD-WRT on it (build 16785).
I'd like to keep the WRT54GS as my main router since it is very stable and use the WRT160NL as a network switch, NAS device, and asterisk server. I already have samba installed, configured, and running fine on the 160. However, the 160 is running as a router so only devices connected to it can access network shares.
How can I configure the 160 so that all devices in my network can access its network shares?
Nexus infrastructure is pair of N7K switches, with dual homed 5K/2K devices connected, links use vPC. They want to extend vlan's from the 5K/2K side across a L2 path into another DC, this path is only connected into one of the N7K switches, call this 7K switch A.I'm concerned that packets from the 5K/2K side back to the remote DC could get dropped due to the vPC loop dectection process. If a packet from the 5K/2K side traverses the path into the same N7K (7K switch A) as the L2 extension, I dont see a problem. But, if the etherchannel load balance in the 5K sends traffic to the packet to N7K B, in order to get to the L2 path extension to the remote DC the packet gets forwarded across the vPC. My understanding is that this packet will get dropped by N7K A as its local L2 path to the remote DC is up, is this the case?I see a solution is to plug the L2 path into a 2K, but before I suggest this is my understanding of the loop detection process correct?

View 1 Replies View Relatedhave just set up a WLC 4402 as a Guest WLAN controller on the DMZ of our network. I have successfully managed to get our internal controllers to connect to it, with the exception of 1. it says the control path is up but the data path is down. the other 14 controllers worked fine, and in testing the last one was OK but it is now not working properly. the 2 controllers can ping each other but just won't create the data tunnel. there is a firewall in the middle but that has been set up to allow traffic between the 2 groups of controllers to be unrestricted.
the internal controllers are 4404's and all controllers are running the same version of code. 5.1.151.0.
I just purchased an AE2500 today for my desktop computer because my router is in another room. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I tried installing the software from the disk first and it would not detect the adapter. But Windows did detect the device and I was able to manually install the drivers and in the control panel it says the device is working properly. When I go to the network sharing center no network is detected I then go to the netwokr adapters and the device is disabled. I try enabling the device and it will not. So then I go and boot in to Windows 8 RC and the device is detected and works fine and everything seems fine. I downloaded the driver from the website tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it with the downloaded version and still a no go.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Linksys EA3500 about two months ago, brought it home and set it up with my DSL provider and everything was great, until sometime last week, and since then my download speeds have just plummeted to basically nothing. I did some troubleshooting but I cannot seem to find what the issue is. I have checked all the cables etc, and I know that it is definitely something with the router itself..My current Speedtest.net speeds are as follows (I am paying for a 5mb connection) with the EA3500.Ping of 15ms Download speed of .67mbps, Upload speed of .60mbps.When I remove the router and hook straight to the DSL modem I get the following results.Pink of 12ms Download speed of 4.89mbps, Upload speed of .60mbps
- I have tried to reset the router both by holding the reset button and through the configuration application.
- I have enabled and disabled wireless to see if that was slowing things down
- I have plugged in my old WRT54G and I get the 12ms, 4.89mbps,.60mbps results on it (so I know its the EA3500)
- I tried putting the computer in the DMZ
- I have changed the ports that the computer is plugged into
- I have disabled and enabled IPV6 on both router and network card
- Firmware version - 1.1.38.134141
I connect to my network and the at the top it says "unidentified network, no Internet access". I've turned off and reset my modem and my computer.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe issue i was having is when i connect to 192.168.50.* network i cannot seem to ping or connect to 192.168.51.2 (esxi host1) and 192.168.51.3 (esxi host2) and also free nas device i.e 192.168.52.2. i can only connect to these devices if i ping the 192. 168.50.1 from both the esxi hosts and also from free nas. Everything starts working if i ping from the esxihosts & Freenas device to 192.168.50.1.
