Jun 21, 2012I'm using 4 wap200 cisco AP, 1 wap200e linksys AP and 1 cisco sf300-24p switch. Every AP has 2 SSIDs,one is for clients and one for mobile devices.I have updated the equipment to the latest firmware but I still encounter the same issue. The mobile devices go through APs and once every 2 days, my wap200e blocks its lan interface. I suspected a stp issue, because the switch was seeing MAC addresses coming from different ports.So I disabled STP on the switch and on the AP. The annoying thing thing is that none of my other antennas get cut off.I tried replacing it with a cisco wap200e,same issue.

Nov 6, 2011I have a desktop computer that I have used for years and it has always worked just fine. We have AT&T (DSL, not cable) and it used to connect just fine but then I moved out, left everything plugged in exactly as it was and when I came back it wouldn't connect.It connects to the LAN but not to the internet. When I go in cmd to type ipconfig the DNS suffix is blank on that computer but says gateway.2wire.net on my wireless laptop. I eventually disabled UPnP on it because that's what alot of people were saying fixed the problem but it didn't fix anything. All it did was make the Internet Gateway Connection box disappear.Originally it was plugged in like so: Cable from wall > Cable Box > PC Now it is hooked up like this: Data cable from wall > DSL > Router > PC It stopped working BEFORE it was switched to DSL so that isn't the problem The DSL we have is "AT&T 2701HG-B 2Wire Wireless Gateway DSL Router Modem" and the Router it is plugged into that goes to my PC is a Linksys Wireless Router Model WRT54GS The PC is Windows XP Home, SP2?

Apr 17, 2011my laptop can't connect to a wireless network, so I have to keep it in one room connected to the modem. When I unplug it, even with the wireless switch on, it loses the connection. When I use ConfigFree, it says the wireless network device is disabled. I went to device manager and updated the driver for the network adapter, and it still said it was disabled. Jun 30, 2012I just purchased a used Catalyst 2900 XL switch and have not been succesful in connecting to the console via minicom 2.5 running on Ubuntu 12.04 or 11.10, I don’t even get junk charecters in the terminal or echo on input. The switch passes POST according to the LEDs on the front and the network ports are fucntional for switching purpouses.
I’m using a Prolific PL2303 USB-Serial adapter, which works with minicom to console into another device. I’ve tried every baud rate available and tried combonations of hardware flow control, software flow control, and niether.I’ve tested the pinout of the console cable and all pins map correctly according to Cisco spec.I’ve also tried Cutecom, putty, and screen. I have not tried HyperTerminal because I do not use windows.Is it possible that the previous owner disabled console access? Do I need to reboot the switch each time I test a different baud rate?

Jul 10, 2012I just purchased an AE2500 today for my desktop computer because my router is in another room. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I tried installing the software from the disk first and it would not detect the adapter. But Windows did detect the device and I was able to manually install the drivers and in the control panel it says the device is working properly. When I go to the network sharing center no network is detected I then go to the netwokr adapters and the device is disabled. I try enabling the device and it will not. So then I go and boot in to Windows 8 RC and the device is detected and works fine and everything seems fine. I downloaded the driver from the website tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it with the downloaded version and still a no go.

Aug 3, 2011I had to restore my laptop yesterday and i reset my router (WRT100). I ran all the Microsoft updates, but I didn't do anything with the router other than going to the Linksys site to try to make it secure. My computer seems to be recognizing the router (although it is still saying it is an unsecured connection) but I cannot get on the internet. The problem seems to be when I pull up the Network Connections window the "Internet Gateway-Internet Connection" is showing disabled. I cannot enable.Everytime I try, it says "connecting...Connection failed!". I can plug the ethernet from the modem to the computer and it works and the "Internet Gateway" doesn't appear, but when I try through the router it does. I want to set up the router because I have two computers that need internet access.
Three connections are listed--Wireless Access, LAN, and 1394 Connection. All are listed as connected, firewalled.The second computer is also giving me a problem. There is the wireless issue, but when I connect the ethernet from the computer directly to the modem I am asked if I want to connect via Broadband and am asked for a username/password. There is no username/password. I've contacted my ISP (Cox cable) and confimred there is no password.

Windows server 2008 (providing DHCP and DNS) 192.168.89.1 on all
Cisco SG 300-20 (switch) 192.168.89.3
all Clients(15 x DHCP assigned IPs) connected to switch
WRT300N(192.168.89.2) connected to switch
Internet modem connected to WRT300N
To achieve this I need to disable DHCP on the WRT300N, since my server is providing DHCP.The issue I have is that when I disable DHCP at the WRT300N, I lose internet connection (connected to either switch or direclty to WRT300N).
Linksys Wireless Router :: EA3500 Disabled And Enabled IPV6 On Network Card
Apr 9, 2013I purchased a Linksys EA3500 about two months ago, brought it home and set it up with my DSL provider and everything was great, until sometime last week, and since then my download speeds have just plummeted to basically nothing. I did some troubleshooting but I cannot seem to find what the issue is. I have checked all the cables etc, and I know that it is definitely something with the router itself..My current Speedtest.net speeds are as follows (I am paying for a 5mb connection) with the EA3500.Ping of 15ms Download speed of .67mbps, Upload speed of .60mbps.When I remove the router and hook straight to the DSL modem I get the following results.Pink of 12ms Download speed of 4.89mbps, Upload speed of .60mbps
- I have tried to reset the router both by holding the reset button and through the configuration application.
- I have enabled and disabled wireless to see if that was slowing things down
- I have plugged in my old WRT54G and I get the 12ms, 4.89mbps,.60mbps results on it (so I know its the EA3500)
- I tried putting the computer in the DMZ
- I have changed the ports that the computer is plugged into
- I have disabled and enabled IPV6 on both router and network card
- Firmware version - 1.1.38.134141

Apr 4, 2012I have 4 computers (3 laptops, 1 desktop) in a shared office. We get internet access using their wireless network. All works fine. However, I need to share a printer amongst all of the computers. The printer is LAN enabled and I would normally just put all the PCs on a hub, together with the printer and share it that way. BUT my question is can we access the internet using the wireless network and the printer using a separate wired network at the same time?

Jun 30, 2011I have been using a laptop to stream videos through my xbox for over 2years until recently. I setup a wireless network in the house to do this. All was fine until 3 days ago.I use a Dell Inspiron 1545 with Windows 7. I have a Dell Wireless 1397 Minicard, a cisco router (model #2425). Since my laptop was infected by Malware, my network has not worked since. I downloaded Malwarebytes Anti Malware to get rid of it and it appeared to work. I got internet access back. However, I still cannot connect to my network (visible in the Available Network list as normal) or stream any media.Windows Media Centre also has stopped opening and gives me the small box saying 'windows is checking for a solution', then closes with nothing. I can however open WMC if I right click and 'run as administrator'?! I have disabled all other network adaptors, only the Dell minicad is enabled and also tried disabling and enabling this main one with no effect. All problems point to the fact that my laptop can no longer connect to the home network but I cant figure out why?!Another (possibly unrelated) problem is occuring at boot up where I get an error message saying 'Bluetooth Software License not found. [2]' - Again this never happened before the Malware infection.

Nov 14, 2011So I turned on my PC the other day and now it can't access our network or the internet.At first I thought it was my lanport, as my router had a light signifying it wasn't getting signal from my pc.I've since tried two different usb wireless adapters and a PIC network interface card. and still can't get it to work.I'm running windows XP SP3. I've got a Netgear N600 Dualband gigabit ADSL2+ modem router, (model DGND3700), wired to an 8port router, which is in turn wired to my PC. In my PC I have a Netgear gigabit ethernet PCI adapter (Model GA311)I've tried running the ethernet cable directly from my modem to my pc.Which the NIC hooked up, and the driver that came with it installed, it says it's connected but there are no packets being sent or received, and no IP address. If I try repair the connection I got an error message saying "Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed. Failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection. Cannot proceed."
I called Netgear tech support, they recommended upgrading the driver. I did so, and when I ran the add new hardware wizard or went to device manager -> network cards -> etc I got an error message "Windows cannot load the devide driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)I did run -> cmd then IPCONFIG and got "An internal error occurred: Request not supported. Unable to query host name"With both the onboard lan port and the NIC I tried pinging my router but got this error: "Unable to ping IP Driver; error code 2."So far I've done a system restore, ran netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt, ran netsh winsock reset, ran netsh winsock reset catalogue, deleted the tcpip.sys file, updated drivers, rolled back, tried a different PCI slot, IPCONFIG, pinged my modem, tried all the different drivers, rebooted my PC each time, but to no avail.

Jan 24, 2012Santa got a second-hand acer mini-laptop for my daughter this last Christmas and she accidentally pour some coke in it, I took it to the shop and I had to pay to repair it; when I got it back, the first thing is that originally it has Windows 7 and now XP, I thought it was ok, but even though I use my network passkey and everything, it quickly connected to the network showing internet access but when I open IE, it shows a message to diagnose connection problems, I run the repair wizard and nothing, but all the time it is showing that the connection is working, will I need to take it back to the shop or is there something I can do?

May 15, 2012basically was online with my desktop until around 4am central US time. Went into the other room and fell asleep. Woke up around 9am, sat back down, Unidentified network and No Internet access. That's where this god-awful day began. I've tried so many things (from tech forums) I may forget a few... I've tried disabling IPv6, disabling Bonjour, enabling/disabling the adapter card, all kinds of stuff in the command prompt... reset this, flush that, restart restart restart restart restart. I uninstalled the adapter driver, rebooted, installed the latest from a flash drive, didn't do anything. Really the only suggestion I haven't taken is recovering Win7 from factory specs and reinstalling about everything since one guy said that still didn't fix it and this is causing enough trouble already without more misery in the mix.
