I have a Gateway Notebook Model ML6720 that has built-in Wireless. The PC was heavily infected by Virus and I had to re-install Vista Operating system. Now, it will not detect the Wireless Adapter. I went to the maufacturer's website on another computer and downloaded the driver and installed the driver on the laptop. However, it did not work. The blue "wireless" light on the laptop is "lit", however when I go to "Device Manager" and look at the Network Drives, it only shows the wired Ethernet option.
When i try to connect to internet i get error message this computer does not have a network adapter installed and configured. i have opened device manager and there is no dropdown for network adapter, it was working fine untill this morning my computer is packard bell imedia x2414 with windows vista x 86 i previously had router connected with xbox 360 connected by wired connection and was working fine and upgraded my graphic card to nvidia 9400gt.
Yesterday there was huge storm, and lightning smashed into nearby house. My computer was running and I turned it off just after that. Result of nearby lightning was that internet no longer worked afterwards.
Soon after I was able to connect on my laptop, (laptop was connected and turned on during storm too) but desktop was still unable to do so.
I noticed that in device manager there is missing network adapter in list. EVerything is connected as it should be, but ethernet port doesnt have any lights on. I believe there should be some small light on port as is on my laptop, but Im unsure.
how I could check whether my network card is ok? Or what could the problem be? I really hope its just software issue.
We can not get on line with our home computer (dial-up). The computer dials out, the modem at our ISP picks up and then hangs up - Error 720.[code] The last two were installed by Avira Antivirus, a program which we have uninstalled. Can I download support files for a network adapter? Windows XP SP3
I am working with windows xp Connected wired(ethernet) Now i am struggling with network connection problem when i checked in Control Panel-->Network Connection options i found that there is no LAN icon displayed And the "NETWORK ADAPTER ICON" is missing in Device manager.what should i do to connect to internet and to get the network adapter icon
PC experienced a 2sec power outage today and now the Wireless Network Adapter is missing from device manager. I've tried rebooting several times but no success. All other devices I have in the house can all connect to the router with no problems.
I had to Reinstall my windows Vista OS. My WNA was working prior to the OS reinstallation, so I am confused a bit. I have no idea how to reinstall drivers in order that dell gives me. I have downloaded the drivers from the Dell downloads section;however, I don't know what to do next. I tried to go to device manager and find network adapter, but it does not appear, only an "other" section with some ! marks next to them.
I have a two month old Inspiron 1525 laptop with a 1395 WLAN mini-card. My network adapter has disappeared from my computer. When I run the diagnostic on the Network, I get " computer does not have a network adapter installed and configured" What is going on Dell? I called the help desk and the condescending tech said that I had to pay 250.00! This is a two month old computer - Dell - stand behind your products!
I have a Sony Vaio VGNFW378D that runs with Windows Vista. Ever since I got this computer (about 2 yrs ago), I have had problems with it suddenly disconnecting from the internet. When this happens it could never detect any wireless networks and I would have to restart the computer to temporarily solve the problem. It usually happened after the computer was in hibernation.
Yesterday this happened again, only this time restarting the computer did not solve the problem. When I could not connect to a network I clicked on "Diagnose why Windows cannot find any additional networks" and it said "Install wireless networking hardware, and verify that the correct drivers are loaded".
I went onto the Sony website to download the Intel Wifi link 5100 AGN wireless LAN Driver and updates. The download was not successful and I received a message indicating that the latest updates of this driver were already installed in my computer.
Representatives at Sony only directed me to links that had steps to finding out what my problem was, which I followed with no success. Most of the steps included enabling the adapter in the device manager, uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, etc...I could not do any of these things because the driver does not appear in the device manager at all.
After change my OS to Windows 7 Pro Enterprise my Dell E5430 missing the network controller driver. let me know the right driver to download and install.
I recently reinstalled windows 7 on my dad laptop after he <ADMIN NOTE: Profanity removed as per TOU> it up beyond repair. After installing the appropriate drivers I still had no detection on my w lan adapter so I checked out the device list, and it says I'm missing drivers for two things: one is the network controller, the other is just listed as an unknown device.
I already installed every driver for the appropriate devices on the laptop, in the correct order, or as i could best manage it, but still no dice. The only network driver on the disk for my inspiron is one for an Ethernet controller.
reinstalled my windows 7 and it doesn't have the network adapter drivers,so i go and dowloand the drivers i install and it still says no drivers installed, and yes i got the right driver,i tryed everything just cant get it working
I have a XFX Nforce 750a SLI mobo and reinstalled winxp pro and now Im missing the network adapter in device manager. I have a wireless pci card installed and can find that under hidden devices in D manager but no onboard! I do have yellow ? for other devices and yellow ? for everything in there:[CODE]
I installed windows xp on a pc that had no OS it previously had windows xp sp3 but I deleted the partion by mistake, so I went down to windows home sp3. after the setup I have no Internet access atall, whenever I try making a dial up etc it just doesn't work, I am using a fairly old computer optilex 6x620 just for browsing, but I have to swtich to Ubunutu to get internet access which is so slow.
I have a new PC with the Windows XP 64-bit OS. When I attempt to connect it to my home network, it doesn't see the network, and other computers can't see it. The network card driver is a 1394 Net Adapter. The driver appears to be working correctly, but it's not getting packets in or out. The setup seems to be missing the required Q0S Packet Adapter, but Windows won't let me install it.
I have re-installed XP then the drivers for my Inspiron B130 from the original discs, in the order recommended. I can access the internet OK, but I keep getting a message in the toolbar that says I need to install a wireless adapter.
My laptop won't connect to the internet at all and status shows limited access to router. It was fine a few days ago until a Windows update. I did a system restore on it back to before the windows update and the internet was working just fine but then there was an automatic windows update again and the connection is gone again. When I try to troubleshoot it says the network adapter is not working properly. I'm currently using the main computer in the house. I can't access any network at all on my laptop and I'm nearly in tears. This has happened before about 7 months ago after a windows update. At that time I did a system restore and reinstalled the updates and it worked just fine. This time nothing. I have tried to check for updated drivers for the network adapters but windows says I'm running the recent ones.
Recently, nearly every time I start up my computer, I can't connect to the internet. I have internet, as says my modem, what I don't have is an internet adapter. I've checked the device manager, and network and sharing center, and it just doesn't exist. I restart a few times and by chance it finds the adapter and I can connect. I have no idea what's going on, as Googling has not worked much at all.[CODE]
So usually I'm using my Windows 7 + USB Modem with ICS enabled to give my xbox 360 internet access and it's working fine. But after upgrading it to Windows 8, my Local Area Connection now becomes Unidentified Network so I can't give my Xbox internet connection again. In diagnose the problem it says that "Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP Configuration.
My network adapter is always disabled at startup. When I go to network and sharing centre - it shows that it is enabled. I dsable it, then enable it, and I can then go online. It is just annoying that I should have to do this each time before I can access the internet?
Whenever I plug in an ethernet cord into the integrated ethernet port in my laptop, I do not get a connection and the "Local Area Connection" icon doesn't show up in the Network and Sharing Center or the Device Manager. When I do plug it in, the "Local Area Connection" icon shows up for a second saying it's unplugged and disappears. I have tried different ethernet cables as well as an ethernet adapter (which does show up in the Network and Sharing Center, but I still don't get a connection).
My laptop is a Dell Inspiron N2010, I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, and my ethernet port "RealTek PCIe GBE Family Controller".
months ago, i installed a USB card so that my dvd burner could run at 2.0 or 3.0. it has worked fine. every now and then the card becomes unlodged from inside the computer, and i have to push it back into the slot.Tonight, while the computer was on, i was putting it back in, and it popped all the way out, my computer shut down and when i restarted it, i got the error message "windows did not find properly installed network adapter/ if you have network adapter update/re-install drivers"Only problem i have is when i go to device manager, i see NO network adapter?
I have been hacking at this problem for two days and can not figure it out.I built a new computer ASUS M3A78-T and installed windows 7 64bit everything was working fine. I did not validate the version of windows because I was waiting to replace the 500g hard drive with a 120 ssd. By the time I recieved the ssd windows validation time had expired, I tried to validate the version of windows and I could not because the network adapter was now gone! This is strange because when I first built it it as fine and I was all over the internet via broadband ethernet cable. Now the internet box has a red x and will not recognize the cable and no lights are flashing on the back as well. It seems I ned to reinstall the driver so I used another computer and downloaded the only LAN file from ASUS website and nothing.
