I have a Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN wireless card that isn't working properly. It will connect at first, then the connection is dropped. This started happening gradually, then became more and more frequent. I tried reformatting my computer, and this still is happening. When I use a wireless USB adapter, the computer has no problems using the wifi.

I recently lost network connection using the built-in Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN. Stupidly, this happened while I was still under a Service Contract, but due to the holidays, I put it off and the contract expired the middle of December. I have a Studio 17/1745, I disconnected the internal WI-fi card and use a USB D-Link N and I now have WI-fi. Should I purchase a new internal WiFi card and if so which one.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Studio Laptop 1737 with Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN mini-card and Windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Some days ago, I bought a HP WiFi mouse (model LQ083AA). This mouse connects via WiFi and you need no USB-port for a transmitter. Very practical - if it would work probably.First I installed the SW delivered with the mouse. During this installation, also the "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" was installed. The mouse connects via this adapter. And everything worked fine. The mouse was found, a connection was established and the mouse worked like a charm. Until I went to sleep. As usually, I hibernated the notebook. And after waking up the notebook from hibernate, the mouse did not work anymore. I found out it is because the "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" does not wake up correctly. After a reboot, everything works again. And if I use the HP software to reestablish the connection, I receive the error "SoftAP is not available".
I tried several things:I un-installed the "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" in the device manager and checked for new HW to install it again. But after it was installed again, it still did not work.In the device manager, I disabled "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" and enabled it again - but it stayed disabled.I updated the driver.I changed energy management, allowed the computer to switch of power of the adapter resp. disallowed that.Nothing I did worked. After hibernate, the "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" is "dead". Only a reboot works.The WiFi mouse is such a great Idea, but the "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" is such a mess.

I've had this problem for a while. I'd only get a dial-up icon with a red cross after startup or diagnostics, and no wireless networks could be detected. So I installed the HP wireless assistant, and restarted the laptop. It started working fine. Today, the icon went yellow with limited access, so I ran troubleshooting. And the problem was back. The dial-up icon reappeared, and the wireless assistant showed the WLAN was disabled. I checked the device manager. The wifi link 5100 AGN had a yellow mark on it, and in properties tab, it said ' the device is not working '. I scanned for hardware changes, and the 5100 AGN disappeared ! I restarted my laptop, and now its nowhere to be seen. Even the wireless assistant now shows only 'Bluetooth' as a connection.
I have an HP HDX16 1140us laptop.
My computer started shutting off and not turning on. I had installed new parts a while ago and so I switched the new parts with the old ones (power supply and Graphics card) and it worked again. But i couldnt connect to the internet and i did a diagnoses and it said adapter not found or correctly installed or something like that. I couldnt find the adapter either. I was going to download the network adapter driver from the dell website on to a thumb drive and install in onto my desktop but i do not know which one to download.

When I go to Device Manager to enable, In Network adapter, it shows the driver with the yellow triangle and exclamation mark and is already enabled. I dont know if I am missing anything while installing the driver. Last week I called the Dell support center for the same and they told that they can fix it if they get a remote access. But I can only access the internet via Wifi which is not working.

I've been having this problem for a few weeks, at first I thought it was the internet itself, but the other computers in the house are fine. A few times a day it just suddenly stops working and in the bottom right hand corner of the screen in the internet options section it says currently connected to : unidentified network. when I click connect again it says wireless adapter not found, "Wireless Network Connection"doesn't have a vailid IP configuration. Sometimes it can stay off for a lot longer and it's generally random times of the day that it happens. I'm using an XPS L502X
View 15 Replies View RelatedCurrently using intel 5100 & 6200 client cards on multiple driver versions. WiSM is 7.0.116. APs are 1250 and 1260 series. Citrix is setup to send server-side keepalives for session reliability. Randomly, several times a day the client will get disconnected from the Citrix application session but maintain connectivity to the AP and other applications continue to work. Traces show the server-side keepalive reach the controller but are delayed from controller to client by 5-6 seconds. Just enough time for the Citrix server to timeout and tear down to session. Additional testing shows the delay most likely occurs somewhere from controller to AP. It occurs on multiple controllers on multiple campuses.
We have Dell/Broadcom clients that don't experience the problem. The only commonality seems to be the Intel cards. CCX? I know Intel has a special relationship with Cisco regarding CCX and have developed features not available on other cards. Tried disabling power save and other CCX features but hasn't solved the issue.

Kept all the disks shipped with the lappy, Prepped the HD per the media rules, loaded windows and the mediadirect and the driver resource CD.. they all had autoexecs and seem to run fine. Failed to connect to the net.. checked it out on device mgr, found the code 10 fail.. All other drivers seemed to have loaded..
tried to update the driver.. it said it already had the correct driver. - fail
DLed the Broadcom driver to a thumb and installed it - no difference. Rebooted.. several times during all this.
Read here it might be install order - thought I might try it manually. Looked for Intel T7250 drivers.. "not currently available" here.
I have a Dell E1705 running windows 7 64 bit. I am attempting to upgrade my internal wireless adapter to the Intel Advanced N 6235 card.After installing the new wireless card and loading the latest drivers from Intel, the card is not working correctly. The problem is that my computer shows "no connections available". Device Manager says the card is installed properly and that it is working properly however there are no wireless connections for me to connect to including my own.

View 41 Replies View RelatedI use a hardwired Ethernet adapter to connect to the internet from home. I cannot connect to the internet on the N5110 but can connect on my desktop PC. I look at the hardware device manager and cannot find an Ethernet adapter. This leads me to believe something happened to the card. It should show up in the hardware profile. I don't want to use a wireless connection. I want to use my hardwired Ethernet adapter.
How can get the system to recognize the device? I don't need to send it in for repair. There is some work I do that can only be done on this computer.

Now my wireless connects, but is extremely slow. I am using a Dell wireless 1397 WLAN mini-card. I ran a hardware diagnostic and nothing is wrong with the hardware. I also ran a connection diagnostic, and it continually fails when it gets to either Gateway IP, or Internet IP. The driver is fully upgraded, and I have ran Malwarebytes and have not found any malware problems. how to get my wireless working properly again.

I turned it on today and it automatically connected to my home network as usual and when I hover over the network icon it says there is Internet Access but when I open Firefox it can not connect to any websites. I am unable to connect to the internet in wireless mode. It shows the available networks, but does not connect when I type in my router password. I have tried everything I know of. Uninstalled/Reinstalled the driver - I have an Intel 5100 AGN wireless driver installed. I disabled and enabled it. Didn't work. Running command prompt and typing in ipconfig /all doesn't detect my adapter device.
I also did these by running command prompt as an administrator: [code] and restarted my computer. I have a Dell Studio 1555 with Win 7 (32-bit) Professional. I know this is a problem with my Windows as the wireless works seamlessly in my Ubuntu.
I just got my laptop (Inspiron 5100) I would like to set it up so it is wireless. But the trouble is that I have NO idea how to even start to achieve this. I am clueless about wireless. I don't even know if my notebook has the hardware it needs to start this goal of mine.

When I'm on-line on dialup to a V90 telephone line, if a telephone call comes in, the caller hears rings but the on-line session is not interrupted. On my desktop system, the on-line session IS interrupted by incoming calls, and that is what I want my notebook system to do. I have re-installed the driver from the system CD, which addressed this issue when the desktop had this problem, but this has not worked for the Inspiron.
