I'm running Win7 on a Lenovo x200. Has run fine for a year. Lately the wireless card disconnects and the system shows no available card. Have to reboot to reconnectThe card is an Intel 5100 AGN. Have tried uninstalling all software and reinstalling latest drivers from Intel and Lenovo. Have tweaked power saving controls, and tried about every suggestion out there. But the problem persists.
View 1 RepliesCurrently using intel 5100 & 6200 client cards on multiple driver versions. WiSM is 7.0.116. APs are 1250 and 1260 series. Citrix is setup to send server-side keepalives for session reliability. Randomly, several times a day the client will get disconnected from the Citrix application session but maintain connectivity to the AP and other applications continue to work. Traces show the server-side keepalive reach the controller but are delayed from controller to client by 5-6 seconds. Just enough time for the Citrix server to timeout and tear down to session. Additional testing shows the delay most likely occurs somewhere from controller to AP. It occurs on multiple controllers on multiple campuses.
We have Dell/Broadcom clients that don't experience the problem. The only commonality seems to be the Intel cards. CCX? I know Intel has a special relationship with Cisco regarding CCX and have developed features not available on other cards. Tried disabling power save and other CCX features but hasn't solved the issue.
I have a Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN wireless card that isn't working properly. It will connect at first, then the connection is dropped. This started happening gradually, then became more and more frequent. I tried reformatting my computer, and this still is happening. When I use a wireless USB adapter, the computer has no problems using the wifi.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had this problem for a while. I'd only get a dial-up icon with a red cross after startup or diagnostics, and no wireless networks could be detected. So I installed the HP wireless assistant, and restarted the laptop. It started working fine. Today, the icon went yellow with limited access, so I ran troubleshooting. And the problem was back. The dial-up icon reappeared, and the wireless assistant showed the WLAN was disabled. I checked the device manager. The wifi link 5100 AGN had a yellow mark on it, and in properties tab, it said ' the device is not working '. I scanned for hardware changes, and the 5100 AGN disappeared ! I restarted my laptop, and now its nowhere to be seen. Even the wireless assistant now shows only 'Bluetooth' as a connection.

I can't find a pattern, sometimes I have no dropouts for 6 hours, sometimes it happens every 20-30 seconds for a few minutes. I've checked online and i tried to do some research on it but i couldnt find an answer, i remember typing something into the cmd and it said that something was disables, just cant remember what i typed into the cmd. Also, when my ISP raises the network speed, my router or whatever it is can't handle it so i disconnect and have to call them to set it down.

I am using TP Link 3040 V1 and whenever I am using it with my IDEA 3G dongle model no E1732 it keep on getting disconnected after 15-20 mins.
When i restart the router again it works fine for another 15-20 mins and then again disconnects.
When I use the dongle directly in my laptop it works fine without disconnecting. So the issue is not in the Idea dongle but in the router.
About a week and a half ago my n5050 began disconnecting from the internet and reconnecting about 20 seconds later. This happens pretty frequently, about once a minute or so. It makes doing anything over wifi almost impossible. Plugging in an ethernet cable (directly from modem or from wireless router) keeps the internet connected. My wife's laptop, coincidentally also a Dell, doesn't have this problem. Neither do mine or my wife's iPhones or my kids' Nintendo DSs. I'm totally lost. I've tried uninstalling the adapter, updating it, updating the firmware on the router, changing the power options on the wireless adapter, changing wireless channels, uninstalled and completely removed AVG 2013, tried a clean boot, and more. I'm getting real close to scrapping this computer and going with another brand...

My Cisco Access Point AIR-AP521 disconnets every few days and I have to restart the access point to make it work. The System Software Version is 12.4(21a)JA1 and it is acting as a access point. The lastest event logs does not show any critical logs. I am sure that there is no electricity or switch related problem.

The connections is - due to the automatic reconnect feature - only interrupted for about 20-30 seconds, but is quite unnerving, as it causes downloads to stop, streams to freeze and website loading failures. The reason I know that the connection is interrupted completely is that my IP address changes every time it happens. I've confirmed that the motherboard network works in WinXP (Intel 82579V Gigabit) and typically the 32-bit Windows XP drivers work on Server 2003 as well. Several of the other drivers have installed just fine, but the network driver install package fails with "No Intel Adapters are present."

I am unable to connect to the internet in wireless mode. It shows the available networks, but does not connect when I type in my router password. I have tried everything I know of. Uninstalled/Reinstalled the driver - I have an Intel 5100 AGN wireless driver installed. I disabled and enabled it. Didn't work. Running command prompt and typing in ipconfig /all doesn't detect my adapter device.
I also did these by running command prompt as an administrator: [code] and restarted my computer. I have a Dell Studio 1555 with Win 7 (32-bit) Professional. I know this is a problem with my Windows as the wireless works seamlessly in my Ubuntu.
I just got my laptop (Inspiron 5100) I would like to set it up so it is wireless. But the trouble is that I have NO idea how to even start to achieve this. I am clueless about wireless. I don't even know if my notebook has the hardware it needs to start this goal of mine.

When I'm on-line on dialup to a V90 telephone line, if a telephone call comes in, the caller hears rings but the on-line session is not interrupted. On my desktop system, the on-line session IS interrupted by incoming calls, and that is what I want my notebook system to do. I have re-installed the driver from the system CD, which addressed this issue when the desktop had this problem, but this has not worked for the Inspiron.

The Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller driver (I've tried both the download and CD) works fine for the Card itself, but it doesn't work for the Network Controller. When I first restart after running the installation program included with the driver, XP tells me that a new Network Controller device has been found. As I go through the driver installation for that device it fails, and I receive a message telling me that the Hardware Update Wizard "Cannot Install this Hardware...The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software." The device then appears in the Device Manager under the Other Devices section with a yellow question mark and exclamation point indicating trouble.

I have tried 3 different types of cards (Netgear, Microsoft, Dell) all with the same result. I have a laptop cooler because I thought that the heat might be causing the problem - not the case. If I leave the wireless card out the lockup does not happen.
On a side note...I have tried to update the BIOS on my computer. When I download what seems to be the appropriate file, it tells me that I don't have the appropriate file.
I just did a clean format on my acer aspire 5100 laptop, everything went flawlessly until the last driver - the network driver. I installed the Atheros WLAN wifi driver and it installed fine. However, it showed a bubble in the task bar saying "Wireless networks detected, click here to connect" so i clicked the bubble and the network connection tab popped up, but it says "No wireless networks were found in range". I don't know what to do, it is recognizing there are networks in range, and then telling me there aren't and none pop up in the list.
The network adapter is: Atheros AR5005G and it is working properly
Edit: I can connect using ethernet, it's just not showing any routers in the network list to connect to
I have been having trouble with my net for sometime now, TWC (time warner cable) guy came to my house to investigate it, said nothing was wrong with the modem but was in fact the doing of the router.
I asked him to take a look at it but he stated he was not allowed to and would not take a look. The main problem is that it mostly goes down when were gaming the net will randomly shut off, sometimes it comes right back, but usually we have to restart the whole thing in order to get net back. It has been known to go off even while were just searching the web.

Some of my configuration is I have shut off the wireless portion to turn it into a wired router, (it was still doing this while is was wireless i just shut off the wireless portion today), I also turned mac address filtering on and add the 3 pc's to the mac address and give out the internet that way.
The way its hooked up is cable line/modem/router/then pc1/ pc2/ pc3 connect into router. Only pc 1 and pc 2 use it for gaming. pc3 is just for web surfing.
It really sucks to be playing a game and be doing well or on the verge of a comeback to then have your game freeze because you lost net and then ruined the game for the rest of your team. I'm just tired of dealing with it.
I've been having this problem on and off for a few years but never this frequent as of now.My connection randomly drops out and I have to disconnect cable from my modem and reconnect it and reboot and stuff like that to get it back up.
