View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Pavilion D4990Y that I haven't used for about 6 months now. I just decided to set it back up but it will not connect to the internet. My laptop will connect, however. The computer cannot find any connections even though I know there are plenty that I can connect to with my laptop at my house, including my own router. The computer's radio search device for a connection is on and the router is working fine.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have one computer that is unable to connect to the internet. This is a wired desktop running Vista. I have several wireless devices around the house that can connect fine, so I know that it is not the internet. I have tried a system restore, I have reset the router and rebooted the computer. The network diagnostics says there might be a problem with one or more network adapters on this computer....I have tried all of those solutions as well. When I look at the device manager I see a yellow exclamation point beside "isatap.domain.invalid". Does this mean that my network card is out??? Computer is now out of warranty

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm having Local Area Network(LAN) with 10-15 client computers connected to three servers. And I've folder containing files in one of the servers which I can access and proceed my daily downloading and uploading activity.Due to Virus I've formatted some of the client computers and re-installed everything. Now the problem is I can get Ping Command request successfully but can't access that folder from the clients instead it's been asking for username and password. Also, that username and password is not working even if used it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI can't access anything on the network. The computer is a Dell running Windows Vista Home Premium. All attempts to access the network fail (ping, local shares, http) and other machines cannot access this one. Network & Sharing Center shows a fault between the Home Network and the internet, however I am unable to Ping or be Pinged by other computers on the Home Network. Other machines on the network are working fine both wired and wireless, although the machine in question is wired only (no wireless NIC).
The following items have been attempted, some many times, in no particular order, all producing no change in symptoms (not a complete list).
Network & Sharing diagnose & repair/reset NIC card.
Cold boot.
Last known good.
Safe mode with networking support.
Disable/stop all non-essential services & applications including firewall and antivirus.
Upgrade network drivers.

I have an old computer that is Windows 98SE. It uses a dial-up connection, but I don't have a phone line anymore so I've been trying to find another way to connect it to the internet. I've tried connecting it to the internet by connecting it to my Linksys wireless broadband router but that doesn't do anything. I also have a wireless notebook adapter that I've also tried to use but the driver needs to be reinstalled or updated and I don't know how to do that. I've lost the installation disk that came with it also. Do I need to buy anything to make it work?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am unable to connect to the internet with my XP computer. I am running Apple Air Port as my router. The wireless network has an iMac, an IBM Think Pad(XP SP2)and a Dell XPS 410 (XP SP2). I am using WPA security and the Dell will not connect while the other two computers always connect. My wireless network is broadcasting, but when I try to connect after entering the proper key, it attempts to connect but appears to time out and displays the available wireless network. I tried reinstalling the drivers, but no success. Device Manager says the card is working and enabled.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have managed to get the wireless portion of my router working for the two wireless laptops in my house (one is Win XP, the other Linux) and am now trying to connect via rj45 ports + ethernet cat5e cable, my router and desktop computer that is running Windows XP. My connection type, set when I setup my wireless router, is pppoe.I have my router connected to a SpeedStream Modem, my ISP is Bell.I am worried that I will have to purchase a hub/switch in order to allow the desktop (PC3) to access the internet, although it seems to me (from reading other internet postings) that what I am attempting to do should work with just the modem+router setup that I have.I haven't worked with Windows LAN networks before (wired, not wireless) I have only dealt with my laptop's wireless internet connections and it seems much simpler to deal with than wired lan connections.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSince a while back my internet access dies intermittently. I have a bunch of computers (mine, the kids, media stations etc.) in my network and one of them is configured to run two different instances of Windows: One for serious stuff (like work) and another for leisure. They're both Windows 7 Ultimate x64 instances and I use BootIt NG for this dual boot setup. Now, when I run the "work" instance I have no problems whatsoever but when I fire up the "game" instance internet dies off at irregular intervals, usually once or twice per hour.I've tried the usual stuff like resetting the IP stack (with ipconfig) and reinstalling the network card driver but the only thing that facilitatess is restarting the VDSL modem/router. I have also replaced the VDSL modem. What's really queer is that all other computers also looses internet access when this happens. And, if this wasn't strange enough, I never loose my WIFI, just the cabled network.
