I have several wireless devices around the house that can connect fine, so I know that it is not the internet. I have tried a system restore, I have reset the router and rebooted the computer. The network diagnostics says there might be a problem with one or more network adapters on this computer....I have tried all of those solutions as well. When I look at the device manager I see a yellow exclamation point beside "isatap.domain.invalid". Does this mean that my network card is out??? Computer is now out of warranty

I have a new Linksys E2000, I was unable to connect one of my laptops to the internet, so I decided to call support with the problem, after 45min and not results, find out that the E2000 do not support the Atheros AR 5007, they told me that I need to get a new driver for my adapter. Fine but Cisco doesn’t have a Driver update for this problem or how to fix it, or at least send you a link where to get the fix.

In both cases i had to move to different housing and internet connection went without a hitch. However i'm now at my new place, and i cant seem to get my desktop computer to connect to the internet. After 8 different campus tech crews came through, they've determined that the connection issue is not caused on their end. The issue as far as i can tell is not caused by the cable either because i got internet access when i bridged the connection using my laptop's wireless connection. I have also used the cable to connect to the internet on my laptop. However, when i try to connect on my desktop it says that that ethernet cable is not connected. No link light comes on, and the connection is not recognized at all.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy BEFSR81 router has never been a problem for over 10 years.All of a sudden I can not connect to the internet..I only use the router for connecting 2 PCs to the internet modem. I have not changed any configuration. tried my IPS COX recommendation to disconnect the power for about 1 minute then try again with no luck. CoX said they tried pinging my router but could not get a reading. While waiting for them to come up with a solution, I hooked one of my PCs directly to the modem. It worked. So I tried it with the other PC. But it didn't work right away. It kept trying to dial up for a connection. I finally got the WIZARD to get it configured correctly. I assume it must be a router problem because either one of my PCs can get an internet connection when hooked to the modem. I did not pusue any further with COX, THEIR AUTOMATED TROUBLE SHOOTER WAS GETTING ON MY NERVES.Should I take the time to resolve the issue with the router or buy a new or refurbished router? If the task isn't too complicatged, I am willing to try and fix it.

When we have a power outage the Acer desk top loses it's internet connection. Trying to reconnect the connection takes hours. Even when we finally get it back we have no idea how we did it. The laptops which of course were off have no problem.

Dell s laptop now works wirelessly but the IBM isnt working either wired/wiressly. When I connect the IBM laptop to the modem through the cable my Dell laptop stops working too, looses the wireless configuration too and in order to make it work again I have to plug it back to the modem andafterwards going wirelessly. I spoke to talktalk support and they confirmed that the line works fine therefore there is a problem with the IBM laptop which also causes problems to the DellLaptop.I domt know from where to start to get the laptops working again fine at the same time.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Westell 2110 wired DSL modem for Frontier (formerly Verizon). It's not a modem that has a web interface, so I can't log into it to change any settings. It also, to my knowledge, has no bridge mode (which is a term I know very little about). I had an old D-Link WBR2310 router, and since I knew the wireless and the phones ran on the same frequency, I bought a new Linksys e1200 router. Unfortunately, when I went through the setup of the router, while I know I have a solid internet connection from the modem (I'm hard wired in as I type), and while I can connect to the router, I am unable to connect to the internet. I took down my IP address, DNS servers, subnet mask, and default gateway, and set up the router to run under a Static IP, which it does phenomenally. Unfortunately, when the ISP (via direct line or my modem) changes the IP address after a few hours, my connection drops and I have to go reset up the connection via a hard wire, taking down the information, etc. Why is this the only way I can set up my connection? What could I be doing that I'm not to get it running DHCP correctly? It worked on my WBR 2310.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe recently switched from cable internet to Verizon DSL since my roommate moved out and took his equipment with him. I set up the wireless router last week and got my laptop to work on the wireless connection. Now I am unable to get my boyfriend's computer to connect to it, when it never had this issue before with the previous wireless. The first day I had it set up, it said it connected, with an "excellent" connection strength, but then the status was 'unable to connect.' I was on the phone with the Verizon guy, who after doing a screen share, said it was my IP address.
So I tried resetting my IP through the CMD, with no luck. Now it doesn't even let me connect to the wireless at all. I've tried both the Intel PROSet/Wireless and the Microsoft client to connect (this is running Windows XP) and when I click 'repair' on the Microsoft client, it tells me it couldn't be corrected because it could not renew the IP address. The firewall is currently off and I removed the defunct McAfee that was never renewed anyway[CODE]
I have problem connecting the wifi router to my desktop (running Windows XP) through LAN. When i connect the internet cable directly to my desktop, it was working. But when i connect the internet cable to wifi router, then a LAN cable from router to desktop, my desktop is showing that the network cable was disconnected. I have used the different lan cable too. I have used the reset function too. But the problem was not solved. I am getting the wifi access. But the connection between the router and the desktop was not established.

When I try to register the intervoip account to the internet I don't get any kind of reply. My VOIP server just keeps requesting to register the SIP account, but gets no reply.
When I connect an other router to my ISP modem, the register just goes fine. However the RV042 blocks something I don't really know what the cause could be.I installed wireshark to monitor my network traffic.
When I monitor registering with intervoip with the RV042, I see requests but no replies from intervoip, the VOIP server keeps requesting, but doesn't get any reply.
When I monitor registering with intervoip with an other router, I see requests from the VOIP server, and replies from intervoip initiating my intervoip account and everything goes well and registers. The following I tried:
- Forwarding port 5060 to private ip
- Putting private ip in DMZ
- Disabled the firewall
All without result. (Also tried them all at once)
Recently my modem/router broke and we had it replaced by our provider. Since it has been replaced we have been having problems with our connection.We have 1 desktop and 2 laptops the desktop is connected to the modem. When we have both laptops running we can browse online okay but if one of the laptops starts downloading something or even loading a video or big web page the other laptops connection will not work it. It says its still connected and finds no problems but no pages will load. I also have problems when I download anything. If I begin downloading then on the same laptop I can not even browse the web while I'm Downloading.

Night before last, without warning, all 6 stopped connecting through the wireless router. I took the router out of the mix, and now only the linux laptops can connect to the internet via ethernet cable. comcast support is useless.any ideas what could be happening here? Only 1 of the linux and 2 of the windows laptops were connected at the time this occurred.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have two computers side by side 192.168.1.7 and 192.168.1.8 both running xp pro sp3. On 8 I can RDC to the 7, but on 7 I cannot RDC to 8. I can see port 3389 listening on both using netstat -a. But 7 just can't RDC connect to 8. 7 cannot ping 8 either. I have the firewall turned off on 8, I had tried allowing RDC 3389 earlier with the firewall but that didn't work either.I don't have any extra firewalls running.Life will be like perfect, if I can just RDC to 8.Both are on the same wired belkin wireless router, 4' from itl.I tried taking the no ping no rdc computer to work and it didn't work there either.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have a WRYT54GS router. I just got a new high speed internet satalite install. The router works well with two laptops wirelessly. The desk top uses a wireless USB connection, Linksys 2500. The problem is that before the satalite install, the desk top worked well with the card to connect. Now, the card connects with thw router but does not connect with the internet. I have reinstalled the 2500 software and looked at all that I could but it still does not connect with the internet but does with the router. Any one out there have a thought on this
