2 Laptops Won't Connect To The Internet Through Wireless Router?
Dec 10, 2011
I have 2 laptops that won't connect to the internet through my wireless router. They will connect through the ethernet cable though. When I click on connect, it says "waiting for network" but then closes itself and says it cannot connect. I also have one laptop that will not connect for several minutes after it "wakes up" from sleep mode or is restarted. It shows (No internet access).
I have a new Linksys E2000, I was unable to connect one of my laptops to the internet, so I decided to call support with the problem, after 45min and not results, find out that the E2000 do not support the Atheros AR 5007, they told me that I need to get a new driver for my adapter. Fine but Cisco doesn’t have a Driver update for this problem or how to fix it, or at least send you a link where to get the fix.
Recently my modem/router broke and we had it replaced by our provider. Since it has been replaced we have been having problems with our connection. We have 1 desktop and 2 laptops the desktop is connected to the modem. When we have both laptops running we can browse online okay but if one of the laptops starts downloading something or even loading a video or big web page the other laptops connection will not work it. It says its still connected and finds no problems but no pages will load. I also have problems when I download anything. If I begin downloading then on the same laptop I can not even browse the web while I'm Downloading.
Desktop won't connect to internet. I have a Belkin router and my laptops connect to the internet. My Netflix Rokus connects to the internet.I have tried your suggestion with reset winsock and reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults, etc. [code]
At home I have a wireless access point that I use to connect my laptop #1 to the Internet. On laptop #1 IP address is set to 193.49.21.65. This IP address also Subnet Mask and other addresses are given by my Internet Service Provider. Everything works just fine but lately I bought another laptop (laptop #2) and now my aim is to connect both laptops to the Internet. Unfortunately, I can't make that happen. Only one of my laptops having IP 193.49.21.65 set can connect to the Internet.

So is there any way to have an Internet connection on both of my laptops without having to buy any new equipment?
I want to connect two laptops for experiment purpose. I do not want to use the internet on any of them , just be able to ping from one pc to another and SSH into them. The use is basically for a mobile robot , one pc on the robot and another one to control and see the processes using SSH. How do I use a wireless router to create such a network? I am using Ubuntu on both system (I tried ad-hoc but its not working).
i have been using one laptop via wlan for over a year,, bought a new laptop couple of days ago,, now both of them connect to router but cant go online at the same time,, if i disconnect the old laptop from wireless router the new laptop works,, if i dissconect the new laptop the old laptop works??
I have two computers on hard line and two laptops. All computers on the line work fine and flawlessly. But when I try to connect the laptops to the computer, they say there's a problem with the certificate. Both detect the connection, and with strong enough signal strength. I've tried WPA and WEP encryption methods, and disabling encryption methods. All had no change. I believe the problem lies with this Wi-Fi Protected Setup stuff, which I have no clue as to what the hell it's supposed to do. I've tried disabling it by turning it to manual, which all computers then lose internet connection entirely. Browsing the FAQ's, I havn't found a solution. I've been working on this thing for a solid 7 and a half hours straight, and phone support is trying to make me configure static IPs, which proved extremely inconvenient in the past.
I have set up my WAG320N with my E4200v1 successfully. The problem is that my laptops can't connect through WiFi with the E4200 router, but only with the WAG320N (wireless). Since it is the first time I set up a network alone I possible have made mistakes and that's why I can't connect to my router wirelessly. My desktop pc will successfully connect to both of my routers (wired)! My devices won't (DS,Laptops). I have WEP security in my WAG320N (because this is the only one my DS card can connect to) and in my E4200 I want to use WAP2 to connect my 2 laptops. I have made nothing more than setting them up and both of my evices are new.
It is for home use, both of my devices are updated to their latest firmware and the laptops won't identify the problem and will ask to restart the router. (I did many restarts both on my routers, PC, laptops)
Recently, my desktop will not connect to the internet but all the other laptops in the house can connect to the internet wirelessly. The desktop is hard wired to the dlink router and worked fine up until about last week. How to check if its a virus, bad networking card or maybe something else?
My desktop wont connect to the internet but my laptops will, whats wrong?? This has never happened before. I have tried resetting the modem and router by unplugging them and then plugging them back in, with no results. Here are my desktop's spec's:DellModel:Xps Xps_420Processor: intel(r) Core(TM)2 quad cpu q9300 @ 2.50GHz 2.49 GHzMemory (RAM): 4.00GB32 bit operating system
There are currently 6 laptops in my household.4 windows (1 vista, 1 xp2002 pro, 2 windows 7) and 2 linux (both ubuntu). Night before last, without warning, all 6 stopped connecting through the wireless router. I took the router out of the mix, and now only the linux laptops can connect to the internet via ethernet cable. comcast support is useless.any ideas what could be happening here? Only 1 of the linux and 2 of the windows laptops were connected at the time this occurred.

I have a laptop but i live in an apartment where there are Wi-FI signal but they are only reachable when i put my laptop on my window ,but I have a mobile with Wifi and it can hack some wifi which are un secured ?how can i connect to internet on my laptop using my mobile wifi !
My Linksys router is connected to my desktop and modem and gets internet access but for some reason has stopped sending the wireless signal to other laptops in the house.
I have two laptops which connect to the router via wireless. This router is wired to the modem. I can connect each laptop to the router then make an internet connection. This works fine. But if one laptop is connected to the internet, then the other cannot. I have to disconnect the first laptop then reconnect with the second.
I have had this scenario working in the past and can't remember what I have to do to enable both laptops to use the internet connection at the same time.
My son connects his xbox360 to his laptop that uses a wireless access to the router. My husband and i both have a laptop and when we try to log on to the internet it takes forever or doesn't connect at all while son is on his xbox 360. Do I need to change up my router?
TEW-639GR XP computers cannot connect via DHCP.My XP laptops cannot connect to my TEW-639GR router over wifi. I get the "Limited or No Connectivity Message". The same 2 XP laptops can connect if they are wired without problems. My Ubuntu computer can connect to wifi and wired without problem."Limited or No Connectivity" usually means a DHCP problem in XP. I have DHCP turned on on my router. This problem did not immediately start when I first set up the TEW-639GR. It happened infrequently on my XP laptops initially for about 2 months but now it happens all the time.
I'm having problems with my current network setup.I have four machines that need to be networked together (with the plan to add more in the future). One of these machines, the 'host', I want acting as the 'server' which holds all the shares etc.I have a security router which the 3 machines, and a printer are plugged into (via the lan ports). The host machine is also directly plugged in to this. That router hands out IP addresses to these machines using DHCP. The problem is that, I want the internet connection to be shared to these machines through the router, via an active wireless connection on the host computer.
I have a belkin wireless router/modem running our home network. We connect using 3 android devices, a wii and wireless printer with no problems. However, when connecting using either a windows 7 or windows XP laptop the internet connection is lost after a couple of minutes. I can't work out the cause of the problem but resetting the router gives a couple of minutes of browsing before it goes again. I have tried using static IP addresses for the laptops but this hasn't worked, furthermore I have tried a winsch reset.
We recently switched from cable internet to Verizon DSL since my roommate moved out and took his equipment with him. I set up the wireless router last week and got my laptop to work on the wireless connection. Now I am unable to get my boyfriend's computer to connect to it, when it never had this issue before with the previous wireless. The first day I had it set up, it said it connected, with an "excellent" connection strength, but then the status was 'unable to connect.' I was on the phone with the Verizon guy, who after doing a screen share, said it was my IP address.
So I tried resetting my IP through the CMD, with no luck. Now it doesn't even let me connect to the wireless at all. I've tried both the Intel PROSet/Wireless and the Microsoft client to connect (this is running Windows XP) and when I click 'repair' on the Microsoft client, it tells me it couldn't be corrected because it could not renew the IP address. The firewall is currently off and I removed the defunct McAfee that was never renewed anyway[CODE]
I had to reboot my Dir 655 because my 2 wireless laptops wouldn't connect to the internet. Once I reset all of my static IP settings in the dlink admin tool the wireless laptops work fine. The problem now is that I can't connect to the internet on the computer that is hard wired into the router. I recall once before having to adjust the TCP/IP settings in the Network settings, but don't remember exactly what it was the I had to do.
I cant' connect my 2 laptops on the internet at the same time, only 1 laptop can connect on the net and the other one don't or they can both connect to the internet but it doesn't stop disconnecting on both of them.
