Jun 18, 2011I have a Linksys WRT110 wireless router that has never given me any problem. All of the sudden, after a storm blew through yesterday, none of the laptops in my house (PC running Vista and Mac) will recognize my wireless network. I have a desktop computer and BluRay player hardwired to the router and the internet works fine on them through the router.The problem is not that I can't connect or lose connection, the wireless network isn't showing up as existing anymore, like it has disappeared.

Jul 4, 2011At home I have a wireless access point that I use to connect my laptop #1 to the Internet. On laptop #1 IP address is set to 193.49.21.65. This IP address also Subnet Mask and other addresses are given by my Internet Service Provider. Everything works just fine but lately I bought another laptop (laptop #2) and now my aim is to connect both laptops to the Internet. Unfortunately, I can't make that happen. Only one of my laptops having IP 193.49.21.65 set can connect to the Internet.

So is there any way to have an Internet connection on both of my laptops without having to buy any new equipment?

May 2, 2011I have several laptops at home that connect via wireless connection tot he DIR_655. Using the MAC address of those laptops, I want to prevent them from going to certain websites.Under 'Advanced" and "Website Filter", I addes several domain names (websudoku.com for example). I selected "DENY computersaccess to ONLY these sites". I then saved settings.I then went to "Access Control". I clicked on "Enable Access Control".I clicked on "Add Policy" to cdreate a new policy for one of the laptops.When I boot the laptop and go to one of the websites, it still allows me access. The URL/domain name is correct.

Dec 22, 2011We have a several cisco 4400 wireless controllers and a cisco WLC. All clients autheticate to an AAA server. Acces points are cisco LWAP 1242. Security is PEAP TKIP ms-chap. Machine and user authetication. Settings are pushed out through grou policy. A new user can log on to a laptop (without cached credetials) and get all their network settings....most of the time. Randomly we have laptops that after being restarted, recieve "yourdomain.com is not availalbe" error message. The laptops will work fine for weeks and then random laptops start to get this error. If we wire them into the network, run a gpupdate, they logon fine. Shutdown, unplug, and the wireless works fine again.. I am not sure if this is an ms group policy issue or a wireless issue. Any setting change or a gp setting that I may have missed??
Clients are mostly windows 7 some XP Domain Windows 2008r2

Group policy settings - wifi config settings enabled and configured correctly Always wait for network enabled.allow fast reconnect disabled (was recommended by a cisco tech) Disabled computer passwords for domain about 2 months ago to see if the computers reseting their passwords were an issue.

When I click on connect, it says "waiting for network" but then closes itself and says it cannot connect. May 31, 2008I have two computers on hard line and two laptops. All computers on the line work fine and flawlessly. But when I try to connect the laptops to the computer, they say there's a problem with the certificate. Both detect the connection, and with strong enough signal strength. I've tried WPA and WEP encryption methods, and disabling encryption methods. All had no change. I believe the problem lies with this Wi-Fi Protected Setup stuff, which I have no clue as to what the hell it's supposed to do. I've tried disabling it by turning it to manual, which all computers then lose internet connection entirely. Browsing the FAQ's, I havn't found a solution. I've been working on this thing for a solid 7 and a half hours straight, and phone support is trying to make me configure static IPs, which proved extremely inconvenient in the past.

Mar 11, 2012I have set up my WAG320N with my E4200v1 successfully. The problem is that my laptops can't connect through WiFi with the E4200 router, but only with the WAG320N (wireless). Since it is the first time I set up a network alone I possible have made mistakes and that's why I can't connect to my router wirelessly. My desktop pc will successfully connect to both of my routers (wired)! My devices won't (DS,Laptops). I have WEP security in my WAG320N (because this is the only one my DS card can connect to) and in my E4200 I want to use WAP2 to connect my 2 laptops. I have made nothing more than setting them up and both of my evices are new.
It is for home use, both of my devices are updated to their latest firmware and the laptops won't identify the problem and will ask to restart the router. (I did many restarts both on my routers, PC, laptops)

I need to buy a new wired and wireless router so I can sync my new Android 4G phone (I'm in an area with bad cell coverage but I can sync with wi-fi). I have a second house about 200 feet from mine and have 3 Cat5E lines running underground in conduit to it so the lady next door and and her two kids can use the internet (I have 40-50mb service for my business use at home). Problem is that my kids have discovered YouTube, streaming video, video chat, etc. and are burning up my bandwidth. I currently have two of the lines to them disconnected so that I can limit their use to one computer at a time. I'm considering having them buy a Wireless Access Point, can they connect it to the standard single Cat5E LAN wire that is coming from my new wired and wireless router when I buy it?

Jan 11, 2013I just switched over from AT&T Uverse to time Warner cable for Internet. I bought a Motorola Surfboard sbg6580. I have the surfboard hooked up and all is well. Now I would like to do in put the old 2wire from AT&T in a room upstairs and use it as place I can plug in the Ethernet cords and also transmit another signal. I have what's a called plug link that is plugged in down stairs and then another upstairs and it allows the Internet signal to run through the power lines. So it just about the equivalent of running a cord for down stairs to upstairs. So basically I just need to plug more then 1 thing upstairs that isn't wireless and I would also like to transmit a 2.4ghz signal upstairs and use my Motorola to transmit a 5ghz.How would I set up the 2wire to do this.

Laptops Disconnects Internet Connection On Belkin Router
Dec 30, 2011I have a belkin wireless router/modem running our home network. We connect using 3 android devices, a wii and wireless printer with no problems. However, when connecting using either a windows 7 or windows XP laptop the internet connection is lost after a couple of minutes. I can't work out the cause of the problem but resetting the router gives a couple of minutes of browsing before it goes again. I have tried using static IP addresses for the laptops but this hasn't worked, furthermore I have tried a winsch reset.
