The internet works fine, but it seems to think that I am not connected to the network. I'm not certain it realized that I even had a network, since when I try to activate media sharing it just gets stuck at "Identifying Network". The whole purpose of this is to be able to play music from my computer on my Xbox 360, alternative solutions for this goal would be good too.

I tried to hook my internet into it and my other computers into it , THINKING, I would be able to get internet on all. No go. I can get inter net on one, as you can tell. but all others nothing. and to make matters worse i got win 2000, win xp pro, and linux that I like to get online.. I have : renewed IP's assin Ip's refresh, purge dns. rebooted. all and rebooted in diferent orders. double checked connections, tested all lines. The network is on a rj45 ethernet .

I also have a home server running for remote access to some files and media streaming. I just installed security cameras that I wish to monitor remotely via the internet.I can access my home files over the internet with no issue. However I am unable to access my cameras using the internet. Looking at my router incoming log, I see my request arriving, but I never get to the DVR attached to the camereas for remote viewing.I enabled bridging on the Cisco 678 but this did not solve the issue.

I need to buy a new wired and wireless router so I can sync my new Android 4G phone (I'm in an area with bad cell coverage but I can sync with wi-fi). I have a second house about 200 feet from mine and have 3 Cat5E lines running underground in conduit to it so the lady next door and and her two kids can use the internet (I have 40-50mb service for my business use at home). Problem is that my kids have discovered YouTube, streaming video, video chat, etc. and are burning up my bandwidth. I checked to see if the modem is compatible and it says it is. I went through the configuration that was given to me with the router and I tried using you tube but nothing. Do i need to get a static I.P address off my Internet provider? If I plug my 02 USB dongle directly into my computer it works perfectly and I got the router to work using a Ethernet cable and plugging it into the WAN port at the back of the router but I would prefer to let it connect through the 3g port

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just switched over from AT&T Uverse to time Warner cable for Internet. I bought a Motorola Surfboard sbg6580. I have the surfboard hooked up and all is well. Now I would like to do in put the old 2wire from AT&T in a room upstairs and use it as place I can plug in the Ethernet cords and also transmit another signal. I have what's a called plug link that is plugged in down stairs and then another upstairs and it allows the Internet signal to run through the power lines. So it just about the equivalent of running a cord for down stairs to upstairs. So basically I just need to plug more then 1 thing upstairs that isn't wireless and I would also like to transmit a 2.4ghz signal upstairs and use my Motorola to transmit a 5ghz.How would I set up the 2wire to do this.

View 3 Replies View Relatedive been having a problem with my router since ive been using it for its wireless capabilities. it is a linksys wrt120n router. our internet comes from our local cable provider and it is good internet (10Mb download speed). running to our old router that split the connection between my xbox and our desktop computer worked fine and even for a large amout of time after i switched to this wrt120n there were no internet problems. now all of a sudden the router drops connection multiple times a day which can become a hassle when i'm doing something importaant and lose connection. and just a little bit of extra information i cycle the systems every time it does it and theres no fix.
