Right around the same time, my connection began disconnecting every two or three days. Before this, I had a rock solid connection for two years.
It will usually reconnect after a minute. Otherwise, when I boot my computer, the problem is solved.
I am certain there is a correlation between the connection speed going up and my connection becoming less stable.
I am trying to setup internet access and intranet access using two cards per PC. I don't have sever software and I want to be able to share files between several machines. I have two routers. One that connects to cable modem and one that connects to intranet side. I have assigned different static ip addresses to both cards.

View 12 Replies View RelatedSo i'm behind a fiber 100mbit connection, and for the past few weeks i've been noticing overall slowness on everything video related, from youtube to any kind of stream using flash video.If I try to watch a video on youtube it will constantly buffer, the same with stuff like ustream and the like.
The odd thing is that I have VPN service that I use to avoid regional restrictions, and when I use it to stream anything, then all the videos and streams are silky smooth and load pretty quickly which is odd since It should work on reverse. Also, a speed test through the proxy gives me no more than 10mbit, while without the proxy I get 95+mbit.
Is it something with the router? I've never heard of the ISP throttling stuff.Like I said, everything works perfectly, except video streams. I can max out torrents at more than 10 MB/s.The router im using is a D-link dir-855 (provided by my isp). I head about disabling QoS.
I've been experiencing a problem with my existing 3845's that may mean I may have to upgrade to a newer faster platform.Currently I have ISP links to 2 providers and run BGP. Each ISP link plugs into a separate 3845 NM-1GE fiber port. Both links are 100Mb ethernet handoff. There is an average of 50 - 60Mbps traversing each link during peak times. I am experiencing a large number of Input errors on both ISP links almost all of the errors are ignored. I opened a TAC case and I'm told that the 3845 can not handle this much traffic along with an ACL on the ISP interface and BGP. TAC engineer tells me that the RX ring of the interface is being overrun and tuning buffers will not make any difference. CPU util never goes above 25%.

The internet works fine, but it seems to think that I am not connected to the network. I'm not certain it realized that I even had a network, since when I try to activate media sharing it just gets stuck at "Identifying Network". The whole purpose of this is to be able to play music from my computer on my Xbox 360, alternative solutions for this goal would be good too.

I tried to hook my internet into it and my other computers into it , THINKING, I would be able to get internet on all. No go. I can get inter net on one, as you can tell. but all others nothing. and to make matters worse i got win 2000, win xp pro, and linux that I like to get online.. I also have a home server running for remote access to some files and media streaming. I just installed security cameras that I wish to monitor remotely via the internet.I can access my home files over the internet with no issue. However I am unable to access my cameras using the internet. I need to buy a new wired and wireless router so I can sync my new Android 4G phone (I'm in an area with bad cell coverage but I can sync with wi-fi). I checked to see if the modem is compatible and it says it is. I went through the configuration that was given to me with the router and I tried using you tube but nothing. Do i need to get a static I.P address off my Internet provider? If I plug my 02 USB dongle directly into my computer it works perfectly and I got the router to work using a Ethernet cable and plugging it into the WAN port at the back of the router but I would prefer to let it connect through the 3g port
