I have a Linky E2000 and i´m having problems connecting laptops. My laptop is working fine but my girlfriends just wont work. I have a modem for internet and from there a networkcable is plugged in my Linky E2000. I´ve installed the router on my laptop with the following disc. I can go online wireless but my girlfriend can´t. Is it possible to go online wireless with two laptops?
View 1 RepliesI have a new Linksys E2000, I was unable to connect one of my laptops to the internet, so I decided to call support with the problem, after 45min and not results, find out that the E2000 do not support the Atheros AR 5007, they told me that I need to get a new driver for my adapter. Fine but Cisco doesn’t have a Driver update for this problem or how to fix it, or at least send you a link where to get the fix.

Im looking for ways to optimize the router for best performance.There are 4-5 iphones/ipads that will connect to it. 3-5 laptopsand one xboxNo wired connections.Im using COX internet on the west coast which provides good internet service. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two computers on hard line and two laptops. All computers on the line work fine and flawlessly. But when I try to connect the laptops to the computer, they say there's a problem with the certificate. Both detect the connection, and with strong enough signal strength. I've tried WPA and WEP encryption methods, and disabling encryption methods. All had no change. I believe the problem lies with this Wi-Fi Protected Setup stuff, which I have no clue as to what the hell it's supposed to do. I've tried disabling it by turning it to manual, which all computers then lose internet connection entirely. Browsing the FAQ's, I havn't found a solution. I've been working on this thing for a solid 7 and a half hours straight, and phone support is trying to make me configure static IPs, which proved extremely inconvenient in the past.

The router has V. 2.0.36 installed, drive is fully shared, but I am unable to see the drive when I attempt to map it on any of my XP laptops. The problem is that my laptops can't connect through WiFi with the E4200 router, but only with the WAG320N (wireless). Since it is the first time I set up a network alone I possible have made mistakes and that's why I can't connect to my router wirelessly. My desktop pc will successfully connect to both of my routers (wired)! My devices won't (DS,Laptops). I have WEP security in my WAG320N (because this is the only one my DS card can connect to) and in my E4200 I want to use WAP2 to connect my 2 laptops. I have made nothing more than setting them up and both of my evices are new.
It is for home use, both of my devices are updated to their latest firmware and the laptops won't identify the problem and will ask to restart the router. (I did many restarts both on my routers, PC, laptops)
Yesterday my wireless internet suddenly stopped working. I plugged the ethernet cable directly from the modem to the computer and everything was fine, so I reset the router, reconnected it to the modem, and went to the setup page 192.168.1.1. I reconfigured the router on the setup page, leaving all previous settings the same (except I renamed the network from linksys to our own name and reconfirmed the WPA Personal password). My computer can connect to the wireless network but I can't go online.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing dropping connection and can't play online games because of extreme lag. when pinging certain sites here is the results at the bottom. so very extremely high ping. then after a while like 5 mins, when i hover my mouse cursor at the network icon it says limited access and i don't have any internet connection, even powercycling doesn't work. it stays like that. when using direct connection to the modem only it works fine. but when using the wrt120n router i experience that problem either wired or wireless it stays the same. My firmware is latest, router settings default.

I have also tried to reset the router without any luck. I know it its not the modem that is causing the problem because I'm wired to it now.On the E2000 every light is blinking as it should be (hence the FAQ) so it indicates that there might be a problem with the connection between the router and the computer (tested on other computers too without success).

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy internet cut out last week and after calling my ISP I found out it was in fact my router that was causing the problem (regular connection to PPOE works fine). I've only had my E2000 about 2-3 months and have not had any problems with it. I've restarted the router, done a factory reset, upgraded the firmware, renewed the IP and still I cannot get any connectivity. I can access the router UI fine and I get a response from pinging it and also I have tried replacing the cables but that didn't fix the problem either.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using E2000 currently and meet a wireless connection problem. The speed can up to 300M bps. When I confiured the E2000 to band auto (20-40mhz) and my wireless network card to work at also auto (20-40) mode, it always down to 144M speed when connection.
If I changed some settings in E2000's wireless configuration, in the status sheet I can see it works at 40MHZ. But after a while,(5-10 mins) it automaticly down to 20MHZ and my labtop connect only got a 144M speed.
how can I deal with that to make it always keep at 300M connection? Note the previous router I used to connect to my lattop can always keep that speed.

It worked fine until one day, without any change at all, it simply stoped working. I mean, I can still connect through my wifi laptop connection (it shows connected to my router and says that I have an excelent signal). But, I can't reach the internet. But, If I unplug the internet cable, and plug it in my laptop, the connection works fine. A friend told me that this could be caused intentionally by the internet provider, that they would block my signal to avoid me using a wireless router, trying to force consumers to sign their own wireless service. Thus, by this friend advice, I've cloned my laptop's MAC address to the router. It didn't work either.
I have a Cisco E2000. When i connect to my cable modem directly, I get 30-35 MBps down and about 10 up. When I plug in to my E2000 it does that at first... but slowly over time, the speed degrades, usually down to about 5-6 down and 3-4 up. If I unplug the router, it typically restores full speed, but not for long (a few days maybe). Also, when I unplug the router, it is pretty hot.
