I had a v4 router on the blink so i used a spare new v5 .Thing is one hp laptop finds it and i can connect with new router .the other one a hp as well cant find the router after refresh re boot and repair It does connect with ethernet cable.
View 2 RepliesI have a Netgear WNR612 wireless router, which worked fine for a few weeks. Then something happened and I can't keep the connection anymore. It happened right after I used iTunes to update my iPhone, perhaps a coincidence, but I'm mentioning that just in case. Internet still works fine with ethernet cable straight from the computer, only the wireless connection doesn't work. This happened about a month ago and I haven't been at home much to fix the problem. I have turned off and unplugged everything for several days at a time while gone. I get a Network Error message saying, Windows has detected an IP address conflict. I have tried restoring the router back to factory settings and reinstalling the wireless card. I have tried changing the IP address settings both in the Network and Sharing Center and the router admin page. What I think I should do is change the IP address in Command Prompt, but when I type "ipconfig /release", it says "No operation can be performed on Wireless Network Connection 2 while it has its media disconnected" and the same for Local Area Connection. I don't understand what this means, because there is a wireless key in my keyboard and there is a white light (not orange) like there should be. Also in the Network and Sharing Center, I can see that the connections are enabled.

Turn on the security for the wireless WPA2-PSK(AES) It has 2 SSID one for the N and the other for the G. All good all light on the modem are good. Tried to connect my Toshiba Qosmio F60 but it only sees the G wireless speed. Why wont it see and connect to the N Network?
Tried 2 other laptops with N class but they only see and connect to the G network. I now have 4 laptops (3 N class), 2 Ipod touch, 2 Iphone, Wii & a Playstation 3 all running of my wireless network. Plus 2 wired PC!! :)
At my office we have a simple network using a Netgear WGR614 V7 router. 4 XP machines are connected via Ethernet cable and three other people are connected wirelessly (one XP laptop, one Win7 laptop and one Win 7 netbook). It appears that whenever the netbook is on the network, the other two laptops lose connectivity. The wired machines are fine. Power cycling the router and rebooting usually solves the problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the D-link DIR-825 router with the dual band, it's never caused me problems, but my wireless laptops can't use it anymore, at first they couldn't even see the SSID even though it was broadcasting. I fixed that and now they connect to the internet but no web pages load. The strange thing is my desktop, itouch and ps3 all connect to it fine. I've tried everything I know how but i'm just stuck now.

One of these machines, the 'host', I want acting as the 'server' which holds all the shares etc.I have a security router which the 3 machines, and a printer are plugged into (via the lan ports). The host machine is also directly plugged in to this.That router hands out IP addresses to these machines using DHCP. The problem is that, I want the internet connection to be shared to these machines through the router, via an active wireless connection on the host computer.

When I click on connect, it says "waiting for network" but then closes itself and says it cannot connect. The same 2 XP laptops can connect if they are wired without problems.My Ubuntu computer can connect to wifi and wired without problem."Limited or No Connectivity" usually means a DHCP problem in XP. I have DHCP turned on on my router.This problem did not immediately start when I first set up the TEW-639GR. However, when connecting using either a windows 7 or windows XP laptop the internet connection is lost after a couple of minutes. I can't work out the cause of the problem but resetting the router gives a couple of minutes of browsing before it goes again. I have tried using static IP addresses for the laptops but this hasn't worked, furthermore I have tried a winsch reset.

But when I try to connect the laptops to the computer, they say there's a problem with the certificate. Both detect the connection, and with strong enough signal strength. I've tried WPA and WEP encryption methods, and disabling encryption methods. All had no change. I believe the problem lies with this Wi-Fi Protected Setup stuff, which I have no clue as to what the hell it's supposed to do. I've tried disabling it by turning it to manual, which all computers then lose internet connection entirely. Browsing the FAQ's, I havn't found a solution. I've been working on this thing for a solid 7 and a half hours straight, and phone support is trying to make me configure static IPs, which proved extremely inconvenient in the past.

The problem is that my laptops can't connect through WiFi with the E4200 router, but only with the WAG320N (wireless). Since it is the first time I set up a network alone I possible have made mistakes and that's why I can't connect to my router wirelessly. My desktop pc will successfully connect to both of my routers (wired)! My devices won't (DS,Laptops). I have WEP security in my WAG320N (because this is the only one my DS card can connect to) and in my E4200 I want to use WAP2 to connect my 2 laptops. I have made nothing more than setting them up and both of my evices are new.
It is for home use, both of my devices are updated to their latest firmware and the laptops won't identify the problem and will ask to restart the router. (I did many restarts both on my routers, PC, laptops)

My wireless network is not detected by the WUSB54G and is not on the list of wireless networks I can connect to. I'm also having trouble connecting to WUSB54GP ver 4. The network is detected, but I can't connect.

Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304

Now the WUSB54GP ver 4. is working perfectly, but the WUSB54G v2 still can't detect the network. I'm also running a PS3 and a laptop, which work perfectly with the WRT160N router.Also, the WUSB54G v2 system works just fine with my old router (WRTP54G).

This works fine. But if one laptop is connected to the internet, then the other cannot. I have to disconnect the first laptop then reconnect with the second.
I have had this scenario working in the past and can't remember what I have to do to enable both laptops to use the internet connection at the same time.
