Apr 7, 2012I have an Epson Stylus D88 printer connected by USB to my Windows XP desktop that is connected to my router by an ethernet cable.
I would like to print through that printer from my Win7 laptop wirelessly, but when I follow the "add printer" steps I get told; "Windows can't find a driver for EPSON Stylus D88 Series on the network. To locate one manually, click OK. Otherwise, click Cancel and consult your network administrator or the printer manufacturer's website."

Jan 2, 2013I recently purchased an Epson XP-205 Wi-Fi printer, and I set it up on my network and installed the drivers to my laptop, initially I could print over the network, but since a restart I can't. I have tried an uninstall and reinstall of the printer, but to no avail and if it matters, I'm running W7 64-bit.
I've ensured the printing programs are part of my firewall exclusion rules, and I can access the printers set up page via 192.168.1.3, also as expected, the printer is "pingable". On top of this my Android tablet is able to send things to the printer, so I'm sure it is an issue with my laptop.

Mar 1, 2011Recently i bought a new printer: Epson SX620FW, I've tried many things, but I can't connect it wireless to my network. Ive downloaded and installed the latest drivers and software from the internet. My PC is connected with a cable to my wireless router. When I connect the printer with a cable to my router everything works perfectly. But I want to connect my printer wireless. On the printer I disconnect the cable. I followed the wireless wizard setup on the printer and I connect to my wireless router. This is confirmed by an ip adress on the printer. Also in the menu of my router I find the ip adres of my printer in the DHCP clients list. So far so good. But from my PC I can not find the printer in my network. I also cant ping my printers ipadres. When I connect the UTP cable to my printer again, I can ping the ip of my printer.

Mar 22, 2011I have one of the above units which has worked fine since i first set it up over a year ago.Yesterday I tried to add an Epson sx425 WI-FI printer, I followed the instrucions and it connected ok however it started to drop the link intermitently and kept failing to print (which was also crap from my machine and total jibberish from any other!) then it lost it all together and all the other wireless devices lost their connection .The router reported it was ok with good signal strength but nothing connected so I switched it off for half an hour and rebooted but it was still the same so I tried to change the pass word but still nothing will connect. I have tried to reset the router also but this had no effect. the units plugged in via wire are working ok it is just something to do with the wirless signal.

Dec 20, 2011The printer, EPSON SX515W Series, is connected to the old computer, plugged in. The other laptops were not connected to the printer and would print as wireless. However now only the old computer prints directly to the printer, the other laptops fail to print it says that the laptop has the EPSON printer as it's default printer yet when ever I try to print, an exclamation mark in yellow triangle appears on the icon, in the control panel>printer section. Troubleshoot does not fix the problem either.The other problem is I can't remember how this was set up as my dad did it, and he will kill me if I don't fix it back. Also the old computer is different to the laptops. Old computer has Windows XP, and the laptops are vista.

I can run:
sudo nmap -PR -sP 192.168.1.1/24
which returns a list of MAC addresses and IP addresses on the LAN and then manually set the printer properties to the new IP address or I can log into the WiFi router and inspect the DHCP table then do the same thing What I'd really like to be able to do is have Ubuntu handle this automatically, e.g. it queries the MAC addresses on the LAN, finds the printer, extracts the current IP address and sets the printer properties appropriately? have to check the printers IP address every time I want to use it.I don't want to go down the route of having a static IP table

It will identify that the network is there but, will not access it. Is there a difference between what a desktop wireless card will access and what a laptop or mobile device will talk with.There seems to be because the MIFI will connect to a Droid and a laptop but, not to the desktop I want it to.Is there a different card or some kind of USB thingy that I can use to make the two devices talk.

MIFI is a verizon cellular product to connect up to 5 computers.It will work when plugged in directly but, not when it has to use the wireless card.The computer I want to connect has a wireless card and will recognize the network but, won't connect. It is a desktop, not a laptop or mobile device.Turns out that you can buy a WiFi adapter in a USB plug and play device for a newegg price of 7.99 dollars to a high price of about 150 bucks.Is there any card that I can put inside the computer so I can make this permanent?

May 2, 2011Small office setup with a wireless modem/router. We have two computers that are identical HP Pavilion a6807c PCs running Vista Home Premium. Other computers in the office are a bit older and run either XP or Vista.Just purchased a new HP Officejet 7000 printer and connected it via a USB to one of the HP Pavilion Vista computers (which I will refer to as HP1). The printer works fine on HP1 using the direct USB connection.Set printer sharing, file sharing, and even public sharing on both HP computers (HP1 and the other one I will refer to as HP2). Workgroup name is the same. Can access HP1 and see the HP printer on HP1 from other computers in the office. However, when I try to connect to the printer from HP2 to HP1, it locks up HP1 and HP1 requires a hard reset. I tried installing the software/drivers on HP2, but HP2 still tries to install the drivers from HP1.I am not sure its a problem with HP1 as much as it is a Vista issue. The reason I say this is because I have been able to successfully use an XP computer (XP3) to connect and print to the Officejet on HP1.
