my home network is of 2 wired computers and one wireless computer (this one) whats strange is that even though i have internet access, I am unable to see any of the shared folders on the wired computers even though the wired computers can see each others shared folders and the shared folders on the wireless one.what im trying to do is connect to a printer, the wireless one preferably, but i can settle for the one thats directly connected to one of the wired computers if i could. i think this strange network blindness on my side might be part of the problem. this wireless one is a xp, the one with the direct printer is a vista, not sure on the last one, im thinking xp, but if xp doesnt have a 64 bit version, then i would guess 7.
I use wifi to connect to the Internet so I don't have a modem. Is there any kind of router system or any thing I can use to connect my printer to my computer with out using a cord
My father gave us an old Gateway computer for the kids to use for homework. We have a Kodak ESP Office 2170 series wireless printer. How can we connect the 2, so they can print their homework out? I've downloaded the software but it won't detect or connect. Is the only way to use the printer , a USB cord?
I have a desktop computer using win 7 that works well with an hp c6100 series printer using a USB cable. I cannot connect wirelessly to this same printer from my netbook. both computers are using the same workgroup. When I tell the netbook to print it does not display anything, just doesn't connect to printer.
I have a netgear router, the pc I want to print from is connected via ethernet strait to router with Vista Ultimate OS. Small office setup with a wireless modem/router. We have two computers that are identical HP Pavilion a6807c PCs running Vista Home Premium. Other computers in the office are a bit older and run either XP or Vista.Just purchased a new HP Officejet 7000 printer and connected it via a USB to one of the HP Pavilion Vista computers (which I will refer to as HP1). The printer works fine on HP1 using the direct USB connection.Set printer sharing, file sharing, and even public sharing on both HP computers (HP1 and the other one I will refer to as HP2). Workgroup name is the same. Can access HP1 and see the HP printer on HP1 from other computers in the office. However, when I try to connect to the printer from HP2 to HP1, it locks up HP1 and HP1 requires a hard reset. I tried installing the software/drivers on HP2, but HP2 still tries to install the drivers from HP1.I am not sure its a problem with HP1 as much as it is a Vista issue. The reason I say this is because I have been able to successfully use an XP computer (XP3) to connect and print to the Officejet on HP1.

I am running a computer with Windows 7 Service pack 1 64 bit OS and I'm trying to install a wireless Canon MX420 printer. My computer is connected to my router through an ethernet cord and I have managed to set up my printer's wifi just fine. It appears connected on the printer's screen and I have disabled all firewalls on my computer yet it still won't detect it.
this person doesn't have a wireless router. She has the above, just a USB stick. there is no cable or DSL modem, no router, nothing, just that LTE stick.
So, can a Wi Fi printer be able to connect to her computer via that little LTE stick?
Today when I tried to add a network printer, list of browsed printers in network is shown as pc1/hplaser1, pc1/hplaser2, pc2/hplaser1, pc7/hplaser1 and so on. They are all network printers, not local printers. Then why it is not showing the printers alone, why they show the pcs in the network and the same printer is shown in different pcs as they are installed in all of them.
I'm trying to add a printer back to my laptop. I've had to do this several times because our internet drops a lot. This time for some reason I can't add the wireless printer back to my laptop. When I add the printer it finds it but then it can't establish the tcp/ip connection. My workstation at the house can print to the wireless printer with no problem.
I have a HP office jet 40vi printer that for the past several years has been connected to an XP networked computer and it has been shared for printing with other computers in my classroom. This summer the computer was switched with another XP networked computer.I installed the printer using the disk to the new computer, but I am unable to get the computer shared. When I try to share it and list it in the directory I get the following pop-up: Printer settings could not be saved.Operation could not be completed.
I have a network printer that I would like to use in a room away from the router. Can I use an RJ45 splitter so these two devices can share the same cable? It doesn't have wireless capability.
I am trying to share a printer on Windows Server 2003 machine so that my other computers can access the print share from my server. originally i was hosting the print server from one of the workstations (running Windows XP SP2). I now want the printer share to be hosted from the server. I set up the printer correctly (to my knowledge). i was able to set it up and print a test page. But when i go into properties and attempt to share the printer, i click on Share this Printer and enter in a name, i designate it to list the printer in the directory. Then i click apply and ok... and nothing happens. the printer is not shared. When i go back into properties, it shows that i am not sharing the printer.
win xp I work at a junior high school. A lot of the computers are part of a work group so they can share printers.
I'm having problems connecting to a printer. It has worked for a long time, it's still my default printer, but when I try to access it, it gives me a spooling error.
Now here's why I think it's a network problem.I can't access the main computer's network location (the one hooked up directly to the printer). All the other computers come up on the networkjust fine. And the one in question is only able to access very few computers in the network browser. let me simplify:
computer A/ brother printershared computer B/no longer sees A on network A/ sees only a small portion of other computers on network B/ sees all computers but A
Again, I don't think it's a spooler problem. It probably gives that error because it's a default printer with a lost connection.
