View 3 RepliesWe have a Verizon T1 line providing internet for our backoffice network. On this network, we have 4 network printers that are shared between the facility. We recently opted to go with new web based software that neccesitates a high speed internet connection, and 12 wireless devices across the building. We signed a contract with Comcast Business Class internet, so that in the event of an external failure with one ISP, we would have the other offer redundancy with the new wireless router. It has now become clear that our nurses that are on the Comcast wireless network, now need to print from their wireless devices regularly. At the time this is obviously not possible, because the network printers are only on our backoffice network. Buying a wireless inkjet printer is out of the question. How can I make this happen? All of the printers have a local static IP on our backoffice network (Verizon). I have heard of software that will essentially send the print job to another computer, which would relay the print job to the designated printer.

View 3 Replies View Relatedwin xp I work at a junior high school. A lot of the computers are part of a work group so they can share printers.
I'm having problems connecting to a printer. It has worked for a long time, it's still my default printer, but when I try to access it, it gives me a spooling error.
Now here's why I think it's a network problem.I can't access the main computer's network location (the one hooked up directly to the printer). All the other computers come up on the networkjust fine. And the one in question is only able to access very few computers in the network browser. let me simplify:
computer A/ brother printershared computer B/no longer sees A on network A/ sees only a small portion of other computers on network B/ sees all computers but A
Again, I don't think it's a spooler problem. It probably gives that error because it's a default printer with a lost connection.

He wants to take advantage of the network printing capabilities but we want to avoid having to run an ethernet cable from the printer to the wireless router. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recenly installed a RV082 with two ADSL modems connected to Broadband lines. Access to our networks is done via VPN accounts configured on Windows Vista laptops. The VPN network works fine and everyone has access to their network data and the Intranet/Internet.
I'm having problems with connecting a network printer to access over the VPN. We have managed to get a IBM1532 network printer working using the following network details by allowing the IP address of the printer through our VPN network/firewall.
We had to connect a Xerox C2424 workstation printer on site, so we configured the device using the same network details as the IBM printer, connected it to one of the available ports on one of the Broadband modems but we could not get the printer to be seen or connected to using this setup.
However I connect my own Home Laptop PC configured with the IP port settings above directly to the same modem as the Xerox printer this works but only after we changed the IP gateway address on the printer to match the modem.
If I switch on DHCP on the printer it finds the IP gateway address of the RV082 but will not allow us to send anything to it.As the ADSL lines are on a Dynamic IP rather than Static.
i use cisco vpn client software to connect my laptop to my company's network when i at home. using dsl modem.

I'm trying to connect an old HP desktop I have (running windows XP) to my home network, which uses WPA2 encryption. I'm pretty much a network noob so I have no idea what's going wrong. Right now it's stuck on "validating identity" when I try to connect to the network.
So far in my quest to solve this problem, I have:
1. Downloaded Service Pack 3.
2. Tried disabiling Authentication for the network.
From reading around forums I've learned that apparently after downloading Service Pack 3, I should be able to choose 'WPA2' as an option for "Network Authentication" on my Network's properties page. It still isn't showing up for me though.
Since my desktop can't connect to the internet, I couldn't download Service Pack 3 directly so I downloaded it on another computer, put it on a flash drive, and then uploaded it to the desktop. I'm not sure if this could be the problem or not, but if it makes a difference, I can verify on my Computer's properties page that I am running Service Pack 3.
My network adapter is a "Hawking Technologies HWP54G Wireless-G PCI Card". Is it possible that this card does not support WPA2? How do I tell? If it doesn't support WPA2, am I **** out of luck for trying to connect to my network without upgrading the card itself?
Why doesn't "WPA-2" show up as an option for my Network Authentication type?
earlier today my modem died so I looked around and found an old modem (D-Link DSL-300T) lying around so I decided to use that one instead of purchasing a new one. It always worked great in the past, but when I tried it today I can only find a connection on this computer (garbage computer), the other 2 computers in my network can't connect to the internet, they can't even connect to the network at all. Oh and the router I'm using is a D-Link DIR-100. This computer is running windows XP, so is another one in the network and the one I want the connection to work on is running windows 7.

I'm only concerned with having the 2 desktops set up with the Canon printer. Both computers have been connected to the printer before and I have the startup disk. But once the new offices were set up and both of the desktops were moved, I can no longer access or find the printer.
I can IPconfig the Desktops for their IPV4 addresses and both desktops recognize eachother on a Homegroup, but I can't find the printer. I printed off the print configuration page from the printer which gave me an IP address (printer is set for auto-obtain), but using an IP search won't bring up the printer. All of the devices are plugged into ethernet ports set up for the three different office they are in and the actual location of the Netgear cable modem/router is over 100 feet away. My primary concern is getting the printer for the desktops, but I also need to add a wireless router into one of those office in the future.
