I'm trying to add a printer back to my laptop. I've had to do this several times because our internet drops a lot.This time for some reason I can't add the wireless printer back to my laptop. When I add the printer it finds it but then it can't establish the tcp/ip connection.My workstation at the house can print to the wireless printer with no problem.

We also have a lexmark printer that is connected wireless as well. The Vista laptop has worked and prints fine with the lexmark. Now I have been trying to connect my new laptop to find the printer but when trying to add a new printer or even trying to add a new device windows 7 never finds the printer. I have installed the drivers from lexmark and have even enabled sharing on the printer properties from within the Vista laptop and still my win7 cannot find anything. Started getting print errors when trying to print, so deleted software and reinstalled. Now the mp990 software can not find printer on network and will not finalize installation and download drivers. Printer will find access point on netgear. I'm running window 7 64bit. I'm not very verse at playing with a router.

i have 3 laptops, 2 are running vista and 1 with xp, the xp os will not recolonize the wireless network printer while the other 2 computers work fine. I cannot add a printer?

They are all network printers, not local printers.Then why it is not showing the printers alone, why they show the pcs in the network and the same printer is shown in different pcs as they are installed in all of them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a Compaq laptop, and i have Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter attached to it.I used to be able to connect to a Printer Brother MFC-J430W via wireless and print from it.But recently, when I try to print from it, it says that the printer is offline. I tried restarting my laptop, wireless adapter, and the printer, I also try restarting the spooler service but the attempt was not successful. Try unchecking SNMP and the printer is online but I can't print from it. So, I decided to uninstall the printer and reinstall it again. This is where another problem occurs. When I try reinstalling it, my laptop seems to be unable to find the printer (I have entered the IP address of my Printer but the printer still can't be found). Oh, and by the way, other laptop seems to be able to print a document from that printer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedTrying to print from a Dimension E521 using Dell AIO Center to a hard-wired networked 962 printer hosted on an Inspirion 530 using a LinkSys WRT54G V8 router. Cannot scan or fax from the Dimension via the network. During software install, the printer is not automatically detected on the network and it has to be manually assigned. Attempt to print test page via the network during software install results in a document in the print queue that hangs the printer with a print error. After the aborted test page, nothing works.
Using the VISTA Control Panel can successfully set up the printer and can print a test page to it. In this case, the printer install CAN see the printer on the network, so I don't think it is a network issue.
However, if the control panel is used to install the printer, the AIO center cannot find it at all and displays an error that software and drivers are not installed. Yes, Network and Sharing are all set up correctly and, no, the Firewall is not the problem as it is turned off on both machines.
Drivers are not the issue. I have deleted the drivers and reinstalled them so many times in the last week I can do it in my sleep.
I have a HP office jet 40vi printer that for the past several years has been connected to an XP networked computer and it has been shared for printing with other computers in my classroom. This summer the computer was switched with another XP networked computer.I installed the printer using the disk to the new computer, but I am unable to get the computer shared. When I try to share it and list it in the directory I get the following pop-up: Printer settings could not be saved.Operation could not be completed.
