i have 3 laptops, 2 are running vista and 1 with xp, the xp os will not recolonize the wireless network printer while the other 2 computers work fine. I cannot add a printer?

Samsung technicians have not been able to assist after multiple calls. They sent me to a printer repair store which reported they had no problem with the printer working on their wireless network. my computer has been playing up the last couple of weeks not finding my network, even though ive had it about a year now without any trouble before. my laptop and iphone still pick up the wifi with no problems.i decided to format the computer as i wanted to do a clean install anyway, which has not made any difference. i have even tried bringing the desktop downstairs now and placed it directly next the the router to see if it would pick it up then, which it hasnt.
i have used an edimax wireless usb receiver ever since the computer was new which worked fine up until now, i also purchased a wireless pci card to see if that worked (wasnt sure if my my edimax usb had broken), which still doesnt work. the drivers for both the pci card and the usb receiver are up to date.i have tried logging into the routers firmware and changed the channel from 'auto' to channels 1-12. with no luck. i have now had to plug my computer into the router via the ethernet port to get the internet working.
i also run ubuntu on a dual boot, which for some reason also doesn't pick up the wireless network. (however my laptop runs ubuntu and does pick up the wifi)
I have a dell, running windows 7. I can see and connect to other networks, just not my work network. I can see my work network and connect to it from other devices. However I can't see it on the dell and I can't manually connect to it.

We also have a lexmark printer that is connected wireless as well. The Vista laptop has worked and prints fine with the lexmark. Now I have been trying to connect my new laptop to find the printer but when trying to add a new printer or even trying to add a new device windows 7 never finds the printer. View 7 Replies View RelatedMy DIR-615 was working for months but then it unexpectedly stopped. So I tried re-linking, but Windows can't find the certificate to log onto the network. I found the network fine but I can't find anything that lets me input the WEP key.
Perhaps I need to reset it up on the main computer? But I don't know how to find the IP address or the MAC address.
I just got myself a new laptop, and set it up. It is connected to the wireless internet in my home. I then wanted to create a homegroup between the laptop and my desktop, but they can't find each other. Probably because the desktop has a wired connection to the router and the laptop is connected to a wireless access point. The router and the AP are connected to a switch in the middle by cable.

They both point to the same gateway and DHCP-server (on 192.168.0.1). And I can ping to that address from both PCs. When I try to ping either of the PCs the pings time out. The subnets are also the same (255.255.255.0) and the IPs are in the same range (192.168.0.114 laptop, 192.168.0.205 desktop).
So I don't really understand what I need to do to be able to access either computer from the other. The weird thing is that Synergy (to use mouse and keyboard over the network) works, just by using the IPs assigned to both PCs.
The acces point is a linksys WAP54g, but I'm unsure of the Router, it has a custom casing from our ISP and hides any clues for identifying the product. I'm going to google a bit so I can add that info later. Both PC's are Windows 7 64 bit. The desktop is Ultimate, the laptop Professional.
months ago, i installed a USB card so that my dvd burner could run at 2.0 or 3.0. it has worked fine. every now and then the card becomes unlodged from inside the computer, and i have to push it back into the slot.Tonight, while the computer was on, i was putting it back in, and it popped all the way out, my computer shut down and when i restarted it, i got the error message "windows did not find properly installed network adapter/ if you have network adapter update/re-install drivers"Only problem i have is when i go to device manager, i see NO network adapter?

I am using a Compaq laptop, and i have Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter attached to it.I used to be able to connect to a Printer Brother MFC-J430W via wireless and print from it.But recently, when I try to print from it, it says that the printer is offline. I tried restarting my laptop, wireless adapter, and the printer, I also try restarting the spooler service but the attempt was not successful. Try unchecking SNMP and the printer is online but I can't print from it. So, I decided to uninstall the printer and reinstall it again. This is where another problem occurs. When I try reinstalling it, my laptop seems to be unable to find the printer (I have entered the IP address of my Printer but the printer still can't be found). Oh, and by the way, other laptop seems to be able to print a document from that printer.
