Samsung technicians have not been able to assist after multiple calls. They sent me to a printer repair store which reported they had no problem with the printer working on their wireless network. View 2 Replies View RelatedNew Win-7 machine set up. I used the printer set-up wizard to install a networked printer in the new machine with absolutely no problem. Proved it would print from that machine.Now, I get a call informing me that her old XP machine, which had been printing to the network printer with no problems, will no longer print.Documents go into the print queue, but they don't get printed.No error messages show up.I did some messing around via remote access, and finally removed the printer with the intention of reinstalling it.Scanning for network printers turned up several redundant instances of the same printer with different names. Some are identified as "invalid" some a "access denied". Bottom line. I can't get any of the selections to install.On the Win-7 machine I did find a window that indicated that the printer is designated as being shared, but I didn't explicitly set it for sharing when I installed it. Also, I somehow got to a window that told me that for printers that were to be shared with other versions of windows I could optionally install drivers to support such machines. Didn't have the driver disk handy and took the window down. Now I can't even find it again.I need sorting this all out.Part of the problem is that out there in "network land" there are redundant remnants of previous installations that are being remembered inappropriately.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have 2 desktops (running windows 7), a Canon MF8300 printer, and an outgoing ethernet line, all on a Netgear Advanced Cable Modem Gateway CGD24-CPR. I'm only concerned with having the 2 desktops set up with the Canon printer.Both computers have been connected to the printer before and I have the startup disk. But once the new offices were set up and both of the desktops were moved, I can no longer access or find the printer.
I can IPconfig the Desktops for their IPV4 addresses and both desktops recognize eachother on a Homegroup, but I can't find the printer. I printed off the print configuration page from the printer which gave me an IP address (printer is set for auto-obtain), but using an IP search won't bring up the printer.All of the devices are plugged into ethernet ports set up for the three different office they are in and the actual location of the Netgear cable modem/router is over 100 feet away. I have enabled USB Print Server on the router and managed to print from my main PC (connected by cable to router).
However, I cannot get it to work on my laptop.
I connected my laptop running Windows 7 x64 by cable to router, ran the USB print server software (latest version downloaded from web site). The USB server software sees my printer (Canon Pixma iP4200). It appears in the list to auto-connect but there is an X against it and if I try and set it to auto connect, I get the error "the port of auto-connect can not be a LPR/Raw TCP/SMB port". Apart from the occurrence of the printer I had installed before (so, yes the printer driver is installed), the USB-server printer does not appear in my system printer list.

I'm getting to the last barrier to my Router USB printer working..The UPS is seeing my printer now but the last hurdle is the Printer Setup program. It is not comatible with Windows 8 apparently. The one I downloaded of the support site doesn't run either. Any news off one coming out for Win 8?

Recently I've switched to Windows 8 Pro 32bit (from Win XP) and since that moment I have problems with USB Printer Controller Utility. I was able to print test page successfully but printing larger documents (for example PDF file, about 15MB of data needs to be transferred to the printer) results in blue screen of death. Additionally if USB Printer Controller Utility is started "automatically wit Windows" switching user results in BSOD about 30 seconds after the second instance of Printer Controlled is loaded. Right now I've not found any way to use USB Printer connected to TD-W8968 while using W8. WhoCrashes states that the crash cause was Printer Controller Utility. It is very easy to reproduce the crash.

However, I need to share a printer amongst all of the computers. The printer is LAN enabled and I would normally just put all the PCs on a hub, together with the printer and share it that way. BUT my question is can we access the internet using the wireless network and the printer using a separate wired network at the same time?
