I am trying to install a HP officejet 6700 all-in-one wireless printer on my home network. I can see the MAC and static IP addresses in the ARP list but fail to connect to it via my laptop. I have disabled the Norton Internet Security smart firewall and the windows firewall and still fail to connect. I have spent 2 four hour chat sessions with HP and they tell me it is my router. They had me change the channel to 6 from 5 and 11g-only from the 11gb-mixed and it still does not connect. They also had me do a firmware upgrade but the Printer was up to date.

I recently purchased a tl-wr842nd, my printer is a hp laserjet 1020 and it is in the compatible list as I seen. The problem is that I connect the printer in the usb routers port and the led do not light up, I tried putting my pendrive to see if the usb routers port wasn't working but it does since the pendrive is accepted and online and the usb led lights.I downloaded and installed the latest firmware but there's no change, I did everything like it saids in the faq 415 where it explains how to install and use printer server with no luck.

I am facing some issue in LAN network.I have connected one desktop( win 7) and another desktop (win xp) to the TP link router. Both the computers got ip address and able to share the internet. But both the computers are not in the same network. That is they cant PING each other. hence they are not visible to each other.
We have 2 computers the main one running OS XP and mine running Vista. Previously, we had no problems with my computer finding the main on the network along with the printer. But now the main computer can see mine (printer and PC) but I cannot connect to the main. Mine does not see the printer nor the PC. We are both running the same virus protection, which is Norton. I really want to use the main computer's printer, which I was able to do until for some reason now I go into networking and it is not there. I know it is marked as shared. When I go into setup network printer and type the name of the printer a window pops up "The printer sever spooling service is not available". I have uninstalled the printer software and drivers and reinstalled but still not showing up on the network?
When I click print a document the printer I am looking for is there but it shows as offline, which it is not. I am not 100% sure but seemed to occur when we switched from Mckfee to Norton?

Me and a friend live in the same building and we're sharing a wireless connection and splitting the cost. I had to reformat my computer (it was windows XP SP3), but when I reinstalled windows it's SP2. I installed the wireless drivers and such, and those work great. However, I try to connect to the network 'Cay13' which is the one I'm sharing with my friend but it won't connect. It will just keep saying 'waiting for the network 'cay13' to connect to the network'. It won't come up with an error, it will just stop and refresh the wireless networks. I will then get a bubble that says 'Unable to connect to preferred wireless networks., Windows will keep trying.' etc... My friend's computer connects just fine so it doesn't seem like it's the router, and I've tried every which way from sunday to configure, connect, uninstall/reinstall the wireless drivers, etc.

The PC's that I plug into any of the 8 ports are working fine. However, when I plug in a network printer, it does not work from the network, only from a PC that is also plugged into the RV082, basically locally, using TCPIP
From our data center, I can ping the printer, but the printer shows 'Off-Line'. I even tried to add a TCPIP port, in the printer setup, and it does not see it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have 2 desktops (running windows 7), a Canon MF8300 printer, and an outgoing ethernet line, all on a Netgear Advanced Cable Modem Gateway CGD24-CPR. I'm only concerned with having the 2 desktops set up with the Canon printer.Both computers have been connected to the printer before and I have the startup disk. But once the new offices were set up and both of the desktops were moved, I can no longer access or find the printer.
I can IPconfig the Desktops for their IPV4 addresses and both desktops recognize eachother on a Homegroup, but I can't find the printer. I printed off the print configuration page from the printer which gave me an IP address (printer is set for auto-obtain), but using an IP search won't bring up the printer.All of the devices are plugged into ethernet ports set up for the three different office they are in and the actual location of the Netgear cable modem/router is over 100 feet away. My primary concern is getting the printer for the desktops, but I also need to add a wireless router into one of those office in the future.

View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically my desktop computer no longer connects to the internet, and I'll try to describe the problem to you all to the best of my ability.I ran ipconfig /all and it is attached.The problem first started a few weeks back and I haven't been able to get around to it due to school. When trying to connect to my router it will connect with limited connectivity (in other words, at the bottom right of the screen when you check the SSID you're connected to, it will show the signal strength, but it also has a yellow exclamation mark indicating it has no connectivity. When I ran the built-in troubleshooter on it, I received multiple things:
- sometimes: "windows could not automatically detect this network proxy settings"
- sometimes: "no errors detected"
Of course I would've done a system restore long ago,however initially I thought the problem was the adapter so I kept re-installing the drivers, I even went to buy other network adapters to make sure my adapter wasn't the one that was defective (I have an ASUS adapter, the other adapters I've tried were D-Link, and Netgear which is also the brand of my router which is very old). Because of all these installs/uninstalls, the old system restores I had were gone. I have Windows 7 64 bit, I'm using wireless connectivity and cannot try ethernet cable due to the immobility of my desktop and problems it would generate around the house. I've attempted to change the IP address of my network properties of ivp4 to defaults, change the DNS server, check my DHCP, check my services, check my registry, and many other things found on the internet (including resetting with netsh)
Earlier today I re installed windows XP. Before reinstall my net was working fine. And now it won't connect.I tried to use the installation disc that came with the modem, and partway through the install/set up it says that it cannot find my Gateway.

Moved into a new place recently, internet has been working fine until earlier today I closed my laptop and went to make something to eat. When I came back and turned my computer back on, it keeps giving me this message when I try to connect. It doesnt ask for a password, it simply tries to connect for a few seconds before giving up. After waiting a few hours for the problem to fix itself, one of my flatmates got home and told me they are having the same issue. I have tried restarting my computer, turning off my firewall and restarting the modem.

The wireless icon on the bottom had either 1 bar, a caution sign with an exclamation point, or some sun icon. Either way, I could not get to my websites. A few weeks ago my Internet started getting slower and slower. When it was usually an average of 3 bars, it went down to 2 and stayed that way. I was still able to get to my websites back then however the change in speed was noticeable. Now, it is neither 2 bars nor 3 but 0. y computer because my desktop is upstairs whereas my router is downstairs. With all the cables and such I would just end up messing it up or something. When I returned and tried to access, it simply does not connect. I get an error saying "Windows was unable to connect to abcd (router name)". I tried to plug it into the router through ethernet and it works perfectly.I have tried to uninstall the wireless adapter and the lan adapter as well. I have tried it in safe mode. I have tried to delete the network also but now that left me with inputting the password everytime I want to connect.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm using Untangle on my clients wireless network. It handles all the DHCP and DNS requests. I'm using the web filter option as well. There are two access points, one on upper level and one on lower level. All connect into a switch and then into the optional port on the firewall. Firewall is not set up to give out DHCP leases. Pretty basic setup. Ever since I got Untangle up and running ive noticed my laptop, which has Win 7 as O/S will connect to wireless network, i can ping untangle box, and access point. But no internet. Signal bar shows I have limited connectivity. I thought it was just something on my laptop and set the issue aside. For the record I've never had any issue with connecting to a wireless network with this laptop, at home Im using Ubuntu server to handle all my DHCP, DNS requests on both my wired and wireless network. Never had a problem. Now this client is a library. And I talk to the director, and she has gotten complaints that any patron that uses Win 7 can not connect to wireless. When I'm not there we have a laptop that uses XP, it connects fine. All other patrons that use XP connect without a problem.
