I recently bought EA3500 router. I am not able to hook up 2 storage external HDD and 1 USB printer usnig the router.I am connecting all 3 to a USB hub which i am connecting to the router.

When I transfer data from PC to USB shared storage on the router the speed seems normal while it goes awful when I do the opposite. The average speed goes around 200kb/s to be specific. This is unbelievable as it is year 2013.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have connected my LaCie rugged drive to the router and would like to use it as backup storage and as a way to stream video to my PS3.When I go to my advanced settings for the router and go to the storage heading I can see my LaCie and its specifications. There is a button next to it that says "claim", which I press, but nothing happens.I don't have the option to create a shared folder, and I can't access the drive from my Mac.On a somewhat related note, I've enabled the media server and can find it on my PS3, but there is nothing in the root folders. How do I put stuff (movies, music,etc.) into these root folders?

I followed the directions here: Support Page , but my verison of Cisco Connect does not have the option to "connect a USB printer".
I am on a macbook pro running OSX 10.7.4 and my verison of Cisco Connect is 1.4 (12005.2). My router's firmware version is 1.0.30.126544. A screenshot of what I see after clicking "add a device" in Cisco Connect is below. The printer is an HP DeskJet F4280.
I've recently purchases a Canon MF3010 Multifunction printer, and connected this to my EA3500 router's USB port. Used Cisco Connect to setup the printer, and the print function is working fine.
The issue is with the scan function. It appears the default functionality of the router is to only activate the connection to the printer when a print job is fired off. When this connection is active, the scan functionality works fine.
Another way to activate the connection to the printer to allow for scanning would be to go through
Cisco Connect>Computers and devices>PrinterWhile the process is running (searching for printer), the connection is active as well, and scanning works fine. When the process is closed, scanning no longer works, with an error message stating that communication to the printer cannot be established.
Is there a simpler way to keep the connection to the printer active, or some sort of configuration to automatically establish this connection for scanning?
I just set up a new EA3500. I added my HP Photosmart C4680 printer, however, my computer can not find. In other words, the router could see it to add it, but my computer can not find the printer at the router. MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8

I have a Linksys ea3500 router to which I have connected a WD My Book external drive via the USB port. When I view the router's webpage, I can see my drive listed under the storage tab; however, I cannot map the drive on my laptop. Whenever I try to do so, it gives me the 0x80070035 error. If I run the Windows diagnostic, it tells me the drive will not accept the connection.

I figured it's time to get into the whole cloud connect app thing, as this is why I chose this router over another but after creating the account and activating through email, I constantly get the message that I need to associate my router with my account.The PC I am using is directly connected to the router through a cable. I'm not sure what else I am to do at this point. The content of the entire message basically is telling me to head to [URL] with the PC connected to the router that I want associated and to follow the directions.
1. There are no directions... I get that message every time.
2. I've tried rebooting the router and then logging in to the website - that gives me a message saying there's no router detected, meaning that somehow the site IS detecting the router, I just somehow haven't associated it.

I needed it to extend my home network for my kids (I have not a very fast internet connection and my kids are eating all of it... With the WRT54GL I can choose how much they can have. So my own network has a netgear modem and a netgear wifi access point which is in this network : 192.168.0.x.
This network is not blocked in any way (just password protected). For my kids network, the WRT54GL gives addresses in this network : 192.168.1.x and is limited in speed. Everything is perfect, I have internet connection on both of my network, There is just the problem that I cannot access my printers, my servers, my computers.... that are on the 192.168.0.x network from 192.168.1.x. Is there a solution ? I already tried to force the WRT54GL to go to 192.168.0.x network but no more connection. Should I "bridge" the two networks ? How can I do it ?

Dlink 10 port gigabit switch
3 wired desktops
networked printer/scanner
external D Link Share Center
3 wireless devices
I cannot see the share center Drives on my laptop unless I plug in. Would I need to simply plug the storage drive into the router instead of the switch? Will that affect the rest of the network?
on another note, what is the best way to test my computer to computer connection speeds?
