It's been a while since I sent into my router and messed with any of the Storage setting. I recently decided to change things around so I recently went in the router and attempted to access the Storage page but all I get is a blank page with this address http://192.168.1.1/storage/Disk_Management.asp.

I did this once and because I wanted to change a few things I deleted the share and changed the users and usergroup that I've made.Now I can't created a share anymore, also tried another disk(flashdrive) nothing seems to work.The only thing I didn't do is reset to factory default, but that's the last thing I want to do.I use the E3000 router with firmware 1.0.04

I also from the Administration option of the Storage inside Web Interface changed the netbios name or Device name to the one I like. Now the name does not resolve to the ip address. It used to when I had recently unpacked. I can still access my drive by IP address.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am very pleased with my purchase of the E3000 so far. However, one function seems to allude me. One of the main reasons for purchasing this router was because of its Media Server functionality. I wanted to be able to stream to my UPnP devices (ps3, xbox360, etc) without having to keep my power hog of a PC running. I have set up the HD using the Storage tab of the Advanced Router Settings, and created several Shares on the Media Server tab. The good news is that I am able to access the share on my PS3. The bad news is that I can't on my Xbox360s. As the Xbox360s has built in wireless N, I would really like to be able to stream to that system.

If I turn the power on the storage device and try to navigate the router it says ".....Can't establish a connection to the server at 192.168.1.1." Then I have to reboot the router to be able to log back on.

There is a button next to it that says "claim", which I press, but nothing happens.I don't have the option to create a shared folder, and I can't access the drive from my Mac.On a somewhat related note, I've enabled the media server and can find it on my PS3, but there is nothing in the root folders. Does either of them support large HDD. I have an external 4-bay RAID 5 enclosure (4.5 TB usable space) I would like to connect through USB to the router and host the files on it.i can't find any data from either router if they can support this so I thought I would ask.
I've had my E3000 for almost a year now and it's been great - until recently. Latencies have become patchy for some users and most surprisingly, the 5GHz network has stopped using two channels. I did a 30/30/30 reset on it a few minutes ago and re-configured the whole thing. It's set to use 40MHz Only and WPA2 Personal, but speeds at the physical layer are still just 144 Mbps and in the web interface's Status page it clearly says "20 MHz".
Why might this be? It was fine for so long, only to refuse to use two channels now. I've checked what the other wireless networks in my area are like, and none of them are even 5GHz-capable as far as I can tell, so the relevant spectrum shouldn't be overcrowded. It's rather nice to have the two channels for NAS transfers and streaming and such.
After manually specifying a base channel (48 at the moment), it actually kicks into 40MHz. The problem is now that my clients, both using a WUSB600N, are getting "Unable to connect to (SSID)" pretty much instantly after clicking the network in Windows.
I've not been able to connect to my to Linksys E3000 when set to 5GHz "N" only Network mode. Connections to the 5GHz can only be done in mixed mode. I do not need to have A-Mode enabled, so I do not wish to use mixed.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can not access my Linksys E3000 router via https://192.168.1.1.Before this mishap, I was able to gain access to my Linksys E3000 router via http://192.168.1.1 and/or the Cisco Connect software application on Windows 7. Yesterday, I went into my router's administration page and disabled http, and enabled https. I then closed out all browsers, restarted them and entered https://192.168.1.1
After that, I learned quickly I made a huge mistake to make these changes. I simply can not access my router admin wired or wirelessly. Accessing the internet works great, but router admin page is a no go.Firefox and IE states, "There is a problem with this website's security certificate." and was unable to proceed.Firefox even gave me the option to accept a security exemption to proceed, but that failed.
I have also tried using the Cisco Connect utility, and that also failed. I have taken these steps and not been able to access my router's admin page.I don't want to take the last final resort to reset my router and re-enter my settings again. I know I saved the router's backup file somewhere, but can't find it.Is there another way for me to gain access via https with http disabled? All I want to do now is go back in and change it back to enable http access.
I just picked up an e3000 last night. Set up was performed manually. Flashed to 1.0.04. No issues and I was up in under 10 min.Although I read the user guide, prior to purchase, I admit I did not expect that I would not be able to configure ALL of the router's features and functions from the web based configuration, without using the CISCO Connect CD.Parental Controls and GUEST Access cannot be configured unless you load the Cisco Connect software.While this is not a huge deal, this implementation is clumsy and cumbersome for advanced users. Honestly, I had no disire to install the Cisco Connect software. I was further disappointed to see that it stores the router's password.
My feeling here, let's not ruin a great thing. There are two types of users. One's who need a configuration wizard, and other's who don't. I guess some inroads are being made in the right direction as some GUEST access functions can be made in the web gui on the e4200. I hope this can be further expanded to all "e" series routers in the future. Overall, it works as advertised. Streaming 720p HD video over wireless 2.4Ghz band G only is flawless. This is no different than my wrt54g2, but I'm upgrading to a 1080p player and have read that N on the 5Ghz band is the way to go.
Have a PS3 that will connect to my wrt120n if I unplug the modem and router then plug back in after 2 minutes. if I shut off my PS3 or after approx 1 hour, PS3 drops my connection. I'm trying to access my router page online but after entering the default into my browser, the pop up box will not accept any combo of entries to allow me access. I have an SSID name and my router is password protected. It does not connect me when I use any combo of user name or password or the default "admin".

I do not have this issue when I am using the Linksys WRT54G or a Netgear WNDR3700 (I returned it to give the E3000 a try) - so I know all my share persmissions and device firewall is turned off. How do I get it to work with the E3000? I want to be able to transfer and stream media files to my media player using SAMBA. Usually my network media player automatically detects SAMBA Servers/Devices and adds it to its list for me to access. But when I use the E3000 that is not the case.

I can log in (most of the time) after resetting the router, but whenever I try to click on a different tab (like "Wireless", or "Security") it comes up with the page saying "This Page Cannot Be Displayed." I'd like to be able to put a password on it (which I have successfully done before on this router) because I live in a college dorm and would like to keep my internet from being bogged down by other people using it.

I connected it and the Linksys firmware detected it and I was able to create the appropriate folders on the drive for storage through the linksys GUI.My issue is that I am now trying to move my movies and tv shows over to the drive and it isn't allowing me to do that.
I get an error message that says "You don't have access to //myshare. contact your administrator".
I'm not sure why I was able to create folders on this drive but am unable to move files to it. Makes no sense to me. Write permission is write permission no?My machine which currently stores the media files is windows7 utimate. The router is E3000 using up to date stock firmware.
i just upgraded from the E4200 to the EA6500. i have a few websites on one of my machines, which i can access from outside my network no problem, but when i try to access it from inside the network, firefox gives the message "the connection to the server was reset while the page was loading". i did not have this problem with the E4200.
