I just got a WET54GS5 to use for game systems. i wa able to use the software in order to get the system online and working, but i am not able to access the wireless bridge though the web page. the username is blank and i put in the correct password, but it does not go through.

I am running Vista and have the bridge connected to a WRTP54G wireless router...I have also turned with Windows firewall OFF. My network has been setup properly and all other components work fine.
I have tried the setup CD, but get the "The Setup Utility was unable to locate a Wireless G Ethernet bridge..." message.
I have also held the reset button for 30+ seconds and tried to log into the bridge directly using the IP addy (192.168.1.226)
I hadn't used this device (version 1) for a couple of years. After that much time and many changes in my home network, once again I need it to connect a printer. I pushed the reset button and followed the initial setup directions. So far so good.
Then I followed directions for using it on my network. Also good. I can access the bridge's web server and I can send jobs to the printer.
My problem is, after a period of inactivity (say, over night) I can no longer access the printer or the bridge. The only way I have found to get them back is to power-cycle the bridge. Some data ...
My router is a WRT320N. It manages DHCP and reserves a fixed IP address for the bridge.The bridge connects to a wireless network managed by an Apple Airport Extreme 802.11. It is connected directly to the router. Yes, I have two WiFi networks. No, I have not yet tried the bridge on the router's network.The LEDs on the bridge are the same, accessible or not.The printer is an OKI c3400n.
Have a PS3 that will connect to my wrt120n if I unplug the modem and router then plug back in after 2 minutes. if I shut off my PS3 or after approx 1 hour, PS3 drops my connection. I'm trying to access my router page online but after entering the default into my browser, the pop up box will not accept any combo of entries to allow me access. I have a router attached to my Dell desktop running Windows 7 and am trying to install the AE2500. Instead of using the router, I want the AE-2500 to access my HotSpot wifi on my cell phone. I go through the AE2500 installation and Device Manager shows it is installed properly. However, I do not see the adapter in my list of available wireless connections and I'm unabley to disconnect my router connection. I keep clicking disconnect but it never does.

I tried take out the lan cable and create but with same result, is this normal that this adapter can't handle network bridge? View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased the WET610N Wireless Bridge to use with my Samsung BD-P1590 Blu-Ray Player. The player has a few built in apps that include Netflix, Bockbuster, Pandora and YouTube. I successfully setup the bridge and hooked it up to the blu-ray player. It wasn't that hard. All the internet apps on the player work fine except Netflix. The first time I use the netfix app, it is supposed to give me a code that I use to register the device with netflix. However, I get a message that Netflix is temporarily unavailable. I have called netflix and they assure me that this is not the case and that it is most likely my wireless setup. The troubleshooting on Samsungs website points to the same thing. With that said, I disconnected the player from the wireless bridge and wired it directly to my router. Netflix works just fine then. Below is a list of things I have attempted:Disable the firewall on the router to see if it was blocking the app. (had the same results)Checked my firmware on all my devices (they are all current)Powered down all my devices and started them up back up starting with my DSL modem and ending with he blu-ray player (same results)Configured the bridge and player to use a static IP vs using the IPs automatically assigned by the router. (same results)Disabled aggregation on all WMM categories. I don't think the WRV54G router supports aggregation,, so I though this might cause a conflict with my setup. (same results)Enabled the broadcasting of SSID (same results)Chatted with linksys support. They basically checked to see if I had the latest firmware and that the bridge was working. They then recommended that I exchange the bridge for a new one. (I have not exchanged it for a new one yet, just because I am not convinced that there isn't something else wrong with my setup)My Configuration

I am not sure if the problem lies with the routewr or the bridge. I am hoping someone out there can confirm that the WET610N truly does work whne using it with a BD-P1590 blu-ray player. This would lead me to believe that there is something wrong with my configuration or with using it combination with my older router. I would like to note also, that I have had one instance where BD Live didn't work. However, it has worked on other disks.
I been using my mechanics Wifi connection with my internal wireless adapter for at least 6 months. Living next door he has a guest Wifi connection for his customers that requires a password. I only had to use the password once and since then it has automatically connected. I recently purchased a usb wirless adapter with an antenna to get a better signal and it connects to the server but the login access page will not display nor will it connect to the internet. With this I get error 102.

When those two devices have been inactive for a while the bridge goes into sleep mode and loses the connection Back to my EA6500. Trying to print something from wireless devices connected to the 6500 elsewhere in the network doesn't "wake up" the bridge. Ihave to unplug the power supply and restart it.

Everything works fine, I have wifi and I can use it to connect to the internet. However when I go to my router (192.168.x.x) I can't seem to be able to find a wireless tab to configure my wifi settings. The network right now is unsecure and has a default name (linksys). How do I access my wireless settings? When I access my router it does go to the AG214, do I need to access the WRT54GL? If so, how do I do that?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy internet connection is fine but I really need to update the firmware on my wireless adapter. I have no problem accessing the router's config page. I ran ipconfig to get the adapter IP (screenshot attached/192.168.2.104). When I type the IP into the browser I get the "cannot display webpage" msg. I have tried turning off the power to the router, disabling Norton's firewall (I disabled Norton completely), and nothing works. Do not tell me to restore factory defaults on the adapter because I tried to get to the configuration page of another wireless adapter I have and am having the same problem.

Switching browsers (I've tried Firefox 5 and IE 8) does not solve the problem, nor does disabling AdBlockPlus/NoScript on Firefox. Any way to access my router so I can begin forwarding ports again?

I can log in (most of the time) after resetting the router, but whenever I try to click on a different tab (like "Wireless", or "Security") it comes up with the page saying "This Page Cannot Be Displayed." I'd like to be able to put a password on it (which I have successfully done before on this router) because I live in a college dorm and would like to keep my internet from being bogged down by other people using it.

View 17 Replies View RelatedFor the past weeks, I've been experiencing NOT to able to 'access' Home Page on daily basis. It occurs exactly 'once a day,' often early morning but sometime even in the middle of night. For this to resolve, I need to unplug a black cable connecting to Router and plug back in to 're-start' Internet connection. This pattern happens after having replaced a brand new modem and router, saying a Modem has an issue diagosed through the phone of my ISP.
With an older modem, however this, .... 'disconnection once a day' never occured. The tech guy told me 'signal' is OK, but there are 'too many computers' in my household. However, my ISP, Comcast allows us to use 5 different PCs, then the tech. guy's diagnose did not correspond to this at all.
As to 'multiple PCs,' we, the family never use more than 3 PCs/Internet at a time. Most of time, we use only two PCs for surfing and e-mailing/photoes. Two other PCs are a sort of 'back-up' puposes ONLY.
No issues with other wireless devices in the house (HP laptop, Roku and an Android phone).
I've confirmed that the correct WEP security setting is selected. I've tried using every available key to no avail. I've reset the security keys. The latest firmware is installed (1.0.04) I've powered the router on/off.

I can't connect on my 2500 on my xp system. I just wiped the drive and did a fresh install on everything due to a virus. I updated xp/ and drivers and installed the ae2500 drivers. When I try to log on it starts to and shows connected however, it tells me "windows was unable to find a certificate to log you on to the network" I noticed that this system has the same ae2500 with windows vista and uses wpa2-personal, aes. The xp system only has options for wpa-personal, aes. Is this the problem or is it something else?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try to install the drivers for the adapter normally, Windows 7x64 gives me a message that the device name "Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter" already exists and is in use, preventing me from installing the wireless driver properly. In order to get around it, I changed all "Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter" fields into "Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter B" in the netr28ux.inf file to make the driver install under a different name.I tried everything I can to remove all evidence of linksys drivers from my computer, uninstalling and removing driverstore with pnputil.exe, but I cannot seem to find the originating files to uninstall.For now the way I edited the netr28ux.inf file works, but I'd rather be able to install the driver as intended.

I am unable to install the software which means, of course, I am unable to access any of the settings.The setup initializes, shows me the wireless network available (it has a locked padlock symbol next to a), and prompts me for the encryption key. It accepts the key and it's at this point the setup stalls. It shows the "attempting to connect to network" screen then, after whatever interval the software is set for before it times out, I get a notification that setup was unable to access the network. The generic Windows drivers access the network just fine although I only get two bars and a fair connection.I do have Internet connection through the windows drivers but it is slow and watching streaming video from Netflix is next to impossible.Long story short

I first tried to install by loading the CD, which went so far as the "Insert your adapter into a USB port" screen. The Windows "processing" circle spun for about twenty minutes, then I was prompted to "insert the wireless adapter" once more. Rinse, repeat. I absolutely cannot get past this step. I scoured the web for an answer and turned up little. I uninstalled my antivirus and firewall software, made certain that files associated with my prior adapter were removed, tried varying USB ports (all 2.0) on my desktop, and had no success. Today, I exchanged the adapter for a replacement, and I'm encountering all of the same difficulties.

Works pretty well now, but did some google searching and it seems i could make my original e4200 into a bridge, would this be the way to go for max wifi? Laptop is Dell Inspiron 1705 (yeah, it's old) running XP SP3. the adapter's drivers installed properly from the supplied CD as it negotiates and connects with the new router. However, there is NO Linksys Wireless Manager. It appears it was not installed at all. I can find no folder in Program Files named either Cisco or Linksys nor anything new in the Programs list. Is there a Linksys Wireless Manager included on the CD that should have installed?
Can I download it separately and install?I've disabled the built-in Dell wi-fi radio with came with an Intel ProSet wireless manager. Would REALLY like to have a new wireless manager that works well with the new adapter. Am going on vacation tomorrow and will have to deal with new and different access points, hotels, etc.
My AE1000 has worked for about 2 weeks, but just stopped working. Have tried to reinstall but it won't recognize the adapter. I can't click the "next" button to continue the installation. I have chagned the USB ports and restarted the computer. But it still wont install. I have Windows Vista. I also have Norton, do I need to uninstall this?

The wireless network has an iMac, an IBM Think Pad(XP SP2)and a Dell XPS 410 (XP SP2). I am using WPA security and the Dell will not connect while the other two computers always connect. My wireless network is broadcasting, but when I try to connect after entering the proper key, it attempts to connect but appears to time out and displays the available wireless network. I tried reinstalling the drivers, but no success. Device Manager says the card is working and enabled.
