I have the issue of being unable to access my router configuration page. My standard gateway IP (83.226.48.1), does not work, resulting in "unable to connect". If I try with my IPv4-adress, it just comes out with a blank page (Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer).
View 17 RepliesMy internet connection is fine but I really need to update the firmware on my wireless adapter. I have no problem accessing the router's config page. I ran ipconfig to get the adapter IP (screenshot attached/192.168.2.104). When I type the IP into the browser I get the "cannot display webpage" msg. I have tried turning off the power to the router, disabling Norton's firewall (I disabled Norton completely), and nothing works. Do not tell me to restore factory defaults on the adapter because I tried to get to the configuration page of another wireless adapter I have and am having the same problem.

I have tried cmd->ipconfig->and connected through the address shown[Default Gateway;192.168.0.1] and have tried an ipconfig/ flushdns -> /release ->renew as well to no avail. My router has a private ip of 192.168.0.1 because of a Double NAT issue which I am trying to fix by going to the modem's configuration page. I am pretty sure that it is 192.168.250.1 because that is what my router ISP Gateway says, along with ipconfig in cmd when I directly connected to the modem from my computer.
By the way, I am currently connected through my D-Link 254 router which is connected to my WiMax modem.
'm having problems accessing the configuration utility of the *second* router in my daisy chain. Here's my setup. I have one router (router 1) on ground floor which gets internet from the modem. That router is then plugged into the LAN port of a wireless router upstairs (router 2). My laptop is then plugged into another LAN port on router 2. This allows me internet access as intended. But I'd like to log into the the configuration utility of router 2. But when I type the IP address of router 2 into my browser (192.168.1.1), it takes me to the configuration utility of router 1. Router 2 is out of the box--I haven't done any configuration to it (for example, changing its static IP address).

The problem that I am encountering is not one of connectivity, but rather entry. Prior to turning my wireless router into an access point I was able to connect to the router by means of my browser (192.168.1.1). I am still able to connect to the router, but whenever I type in a user name and password the router just simply does not recognize the information. I have tried resetting the router multiple times, but I am still denied access to my router despite having the correct user name and password. I have version 1.1 of the Linksys WRT54GL wireless router and have the latest firmware.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor the past weeks, I've been experiencing NOT to able to 'access' Home Page on daily basis. It occurs exactly 'once a day,' often early morning but sometime even in the middle of night. For this to resolve, I need to unplug a black cable connecting to Router and plug back in to 're-start' Internet connection. This pattern happens after having replaced a brand new modem and router, saying a Modem has an issue diagosed through the phone of my ISP.
With an older modem, however this, .... 'disconnection once a day' never occured. The tech guy told me 'signal' is OK, but there are 'too many computers' in my household. However, my ISP, Comcast allows us to use 5 different PCs, then the tech. guy's diagnose did not correspond to this at all.
As to 'multiple PCs,' we, the family never use more than 3 PCs/Internet at a time. Most of time, we use only two PCs for surfing and e-mailing/photoes. Two other PCs are a sort of 'back-up' puposes ONLY.
Basically we have 5 users in one of our offices and the internet works completely fine.However we cannot access the company Intranet. We receive 'The page cannot be displayed'.I have no idea why because all other sites work okay!Note: The Intranet can be accesed from home and libraries as I have checked aswel as 2 offices we have, everything works fine.It's just the one office and everything else works fine.

My problem is that when i enter my ip address into the address bar it doesn't recognize it. I can't use Utorrent or anything that requires ports to be opened..and it's a pain in the butt. when I type ipconfig on my command prompt it brings up..172.16.X.X and when i enter it into the address bar nothing is found. I'd like to port forward by accessing the modem's config page.I read on another thread that i could set my own ip address by going to: Control Panel>Network and Sharing center> Local Area Network>Properties of Ipv6 and typing my own ip address but when i do this i lose my internet connection.

Things that I have already tried:
- Tries using 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1, http://192.168.1.1 and all kind of variations.
- Tried with different browsers.
- Tried with seperate computer with different OS's (Mac and PC)
- Unable to flush dns because I get this error: CMD prompt error message .
- Have factory reset router a few times now.
- Unplugged, left off for 20mins-2hours.
I have Verizon FIOS internet/wireless router and then a WRT310N wireless router connected to it thru Ethernet cable. I want to disable DHCP in the Linksys, but when I try to access the set up page at address 192.168.1.1 the Verizon router set up page shows up. I've tried to connect the router directly to the computer, but it needs the internet connection from the Verizon router. How do I get to the set up of the Linksys at the same time the Verizon is using the same address?

I can log in (most of the time) after resetting the router, but whenever I try to click on a different tab (like "Wireless", or "Security") it comes up with the page saying "This Page Cannot Be Displayed." I'd like to be able to put a password on it (which I have successfully done before on this router) because I live in a college dorm and would like to keep my internet from being bogged down by other people using it.

I was able to access the web-based configuration by using the IP address of the AP (something like 192.168.0.184, coming from the DHCP of my router). However, I'm unable to access the web-based configuration using the host name of the device (mentioned next to the device name in the basic setup section of the web-based configuration). I changed the host name several times, but I can't connect to the device using the host name. Accessing the device by its IP address works, but I have to check the logging of my router to find out which IP address I have to use. Is there a way to access the device using the host name?
(I think my WAP4410N has firmware version 2.0.2.1 installed)
It usually consists of installing routers in units. Occasionally I have to change the routers IP address to keep it from conflicting with other routers. To do so, I need to get to the router options to do that. Normally, typing in 192.168.0.1 gets me there with no problems. Sometimes it's a 10.0.10.1. (They have D-Link DIR-615 routers.) To make sure I know which address I need, I use the cmd and ipconfig /all. Some of the routers spit out an IPV6 address instead of the IPV4 that I need to access the router. Even after a factory reset, it still does this. I can't get in to change anything.

They say that it should be working, make a restart and that's it. I did that but still no connection. Moreover, I cannot connect through the router at all and therefore cannot access router admin page to configure it either. Now what to do? Password for the router is correct. Even when I take down all the security, still I cannot connect.To be more specific, at first I could enter the router admin page, but since I didn't know how to configure it properly, I made some mistake. I think I choose setting "configure wireless network" and changed something there. After that I cannot access the admin page or connect through the router.
