Unable To Access Router Configuration
Oct 1, 2011
'm having problems accessing the configuration utility of the *second* router in my daisy chain. Here's my setup. I have one router (router 1) on ground floor which gets internet from the modem. That router is then plugged into the LAN port of a wireless router upstairs (router 2). My laptop is then plugged into another LAN port on router 2. This allows me internet access as intended. But I'd like to log into the the configuration utility of router 2. But when I type the IP address of router 2 into my browser (192.168.1.1), it takes me to the configuration utility of router 1. Router 2 is out of the box--I haven't done any configuration to it (for example, changing its static IP address).

I have the issue of being unable to access my router configuration page. My standard gateway IP (83.226.48.1), does not work, resulting in "unable to connect". If I try with my IPv4-adress, it just comes out with a blank page (Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer).

My internet connection is fine but I really need to update the firmware on my wireless adapter. I have no problem accessing the router's config page. I ran ipconfig to get the adapter IP (screenshot attached/192.168.2.104). When I type the IP into the browser I get the "cannot display webpage" msg. I have tried turning off the power to the router, disabling Norton's firewall (I disabled Norton completely), and nothing works. Do not tell me to restore factory defaults on the adapter because I tried to get to the configuration page of another wireless adapter I have and am having the same problem.

I recently bought and installed a WAP4410N access point (using PoE) and it's running stable. I was able to access the web-based configuration by using the IP address of the AP (something like 192.168.0.184, coming from the DHCP of my router). However, I'm unable to access the web-based configuration using the host name of the device (mentioned next to the device name in the basic setup section of the web-based configuration). I changed the host name several times, but I can't connect to the device using the host name. Accessing the device by its IP address works, but I have to check the logging of my router to find out which IP address I have to use. Is there a way to access the device using the host name?
(I think my WAP4410N has firmware version 2.0.2.1 installed)

Recently the router has been dropping the wireless connection, and now is not connecting with the computer - the ethernet still works. It was suggested to upgrade the firmware but I can't access the configuration.I've tried admin, and blank password which is supposed to be the default. I've also tried XXXXX as password, and another username and password in case I had altered it for security. It doesn't allow me in.

We have an Asus RT-N56U router at home, which is connected directly to a cable modem. I am attempting to remotely access the router's interface, and am having trouble doing so even after configuring it properly. I configured the router's firewall to allow remote access, using port 8080. I also set up DDNS, although I tried connecting using both the IP and the DDNS name.I also set the router to respond to pings, and I am able to successfully ping the router (from a remote location) using both the DDNS name and the public IP. But when attempting to connect using my browser, it doesn't work. I have tried multiple browsers, multiple remote locations, and disabling my computer's firewall, all with no success.

I have Time Warner[Road Runner] and an ARRIS TG862 router. I have tried cmd->ipconfig->and connected through the address shown[Default Gateway;192.168.0.1] and have tried an ipconfig/ flushdns -> /release ->renew as well to no avail. Is there anything I could do to access the page? P.S. This was all done through a Windows 7 desktop connected directly to the router through an Ethernet cable

I have a NETGEAR Wireless-N 150 Router WNR1000 v2. I am trying to configure it for my LAN which has a DIALER. [code] I tried to configure my NG but it is unable to connect to the network on its own. I have to use CONNECT dialer from my PC to connect which is useless because I can't use my wi-fi enabled devices to access network.

I have a WRT54G with updated firmware. Today I saved my configuration to a config.bin file. When I tried loading the file, the admin screen went blank. Now I am no longer able to access either the internet or the router's admin page. Is a hard reset my only option?

By now, I'm sure E4200 and other Router users that have twonky have noticed they cannot access the twonky configuration pages, as you have chosen to block them. Please give advanced users a work around to this, because if Twonky does not recognize our newer TV/devices, then we cannot play certain file formats without manually configuring the service.

Few months back i had upgraded my Lynksys router with Coova AP firmware. Everything was working fine.I had configured the AAA server on CoovaAP and was able to access the internet.I had configured the user name and password as a "testuser" and "password" respectively. With that user id i used to access the Coova AP router and internet. Now i want restore the WRT54GL firmware on Lynksys router. But with the used id and password which i had configured the router is not at all accessible. So i did 30-30-30 reset on the router 2-3 times.
Now i can see openwrt login page with 192.168.1.1 IP address. It is asking for user id and password. I tried all the combinations of user id and password, but no luck. I browsed some link on the internet and some people have recommended that default user id as a "root" and blank password. But with that also the router is not accessible. I cant to do much on the router untill i will log in to router. I have spent lot of time on this.
how to restore back the original WRAT54GL firmware on my router. Anyhow i want WRAT54GL firmware on Lynksys router. Can somebody tell me how to achieve this?? Or atleast what user id and password should i try to log in to router?I tried to use telnet command on the router (Connected router to linux based computer with ethernet cable). But telnet also not working. It is not asking for password, and it saying disconnected.

I use to run Twonky media server on my iMac and I was very happy with it. Now I have purchased a Linksys Wifi Router E4200. Twonky server embedded works fine with all my devices except with my Samsung D8000 Led TV. In the Mac version I must identify manually the player (Samsung TV), if not mkv won't play. The question is: How can I select the device in the Linksys E4200? The config page is not available and displays "Access is restricted to mediaserver configuration" E4200 firm V. 1.0.03

I have a Belkin F7D2301 v1 (01) and I am having the exact same issue. I like to do surveys and I've never been able to access this particular site It does the same thing as the original person's problem. I'm kind of scared to change anything on my router setup because I have several computers on the same router. Will any of this cause the other computers not to run on the router?

Just to set the stage, we used to have a network which ran in the following order:
For wired workstations: bridged DSL modem->wireless Linksys E900 router->Dell PowerConnect 2824 switch->2 modular 4-port jacks->individual workstations For wireless: bridged DSL modem->wireless Linksys E900 router->workstations The workstations were set up to pick up IP addresses automatically. After an infrastructure upgrade where we added some Cat6 cables and swapped the modular jacks for a patch panel, we lost all connectivity. I restored the connectivity to the wired workstations by assigning IP addresses. But we have no wireless and I cannot access the router GUI at its IP address (even when plugged directly into the router). All the workstations show the default gateway as 192.168.10.1, so I don't know what's going on.
