I had configured the AAA server on CoovaAP and was able to access the internet.I had configured the user name and password as a "testuser" and "password" respectively. With that user id i used to access the Coova AP router and internet.Now i want restore the WRT54GL firmware on Lynksys router. But with the used id and password which i had configured the router is not at all accessible. So i did 30-30-30 reset on the router 2-3 times. Now i can see openwrt login page with 192.168.1.1 IP address. It is asking for user id and password. I tried all the combinations of user id and password, but no luck. I browsed some link on the internet and some people have recommended that default user id as a "root" and blank password. But with that also the router is not accessible. I cant to do much on the router untill i will log in to router. I have spent lot of time on this. How to restore back the original WRAT54GL firmware on my router. Anyhow i want WRAT54GL firmware on Lynksys router

Just a day or two ago I was able to do what the title says, didn't make any adjustments to my E2000 while in it, had to find something though.Anyhow, connecting to http://192.168.1.1 results in "Unable to Connect", etc. Also tried it in IE9, Firefox Beta is my primary, and it still didn't work. Tried using Cisco Connect and it says it cannot connect to my router. I am wired to my E2000, which in turn is wired to my DSL modem (Actiontec GT701D-Its firewall not in use). I sitll have full connection to the internet as well as other wireless deveices do in my house.

Lately when I turn on one of my computers, or attempt to connect with my Motorola Xoom tablet it will show connected but I will not have internet access. Initially it will show that I have internet access but not work, then after about 1-2 minutes my PCs will show "No Internet access" for about 2-3 minutes, then it will show "Internet Acess" again and still not load. After that, in about 1-3 minutes the internet will start working and work as good as ever until I disconnect (manually or by turning off my computer) then connect again; the process described avove happens again.

For some reason, don't ask me why, I did RESET the router not thru the web nor thru Cisco Connect, but pushing the reset button at the back. I can't access the router anymore ! It keeps asking for a password that is never accepted. I have uninstalled cisco connect and tried again. Nothing. The router is not found. Keeps asking for a password. I tried everything: blan+admin, admin+admin, the password I used to have (provided at the cisco connect uninstall).It seems that the RESET never worked. The router is working thru cables, meaning when I can connect to the internet wired. But the router is never found wireless.How could I update the firmware if the router is not recognized (or if I don't have a username+password) ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a continuing problem with my WRT54G2 wireless router. I set up my network, changing the password for the router, and I change the SSID, as well as the encryption password. When I set it up, and after changing passwords etc. I always log off, go back and log on, and it works fine. Once I set up the network, over time, I'll notice a device will no longer connect via wireless. When that happens, I try to log on to the router, and can not connect to the router using either Firefox or IE. When I try, I get Internal Server Error, or just nothing. I can ping the router, and if I run an IPCONFIG at this point, the default gateway does show 192.168.1.1. Every time this starts to happen, I must do a hard reset of the router. Once I do this, I can connect, and log on using the default settings, and re-set everything. This is a HUGE pain, as it takes a lot of time, and happens way too often.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought the E4200 v2. When I first installed, I ran the firmware update and then performed a hard reset (push reset button for 20 secs). I then began to enter all the PPPoE information and network settings into the new router (verified these settings with the existing WRT54GL router I'm current using and they all matched). I then disconnected the old router, and powered up the E4200. I was able to access the new router (192.168.0.1), I could see all previously shared files/computers with the new router, but I could not access most websites - usually I got a timeout error, or they eventually loaded in 10x the usual speed. This was typical of both laptops - one wired, and one wireless. My wireless handheld device could connect to the wireless network, and ran a speeedtest.net test, and upload/download speeds were normal - but I could not access the internet from the device. When I switched back to the old router, everything worked perfectly again. I have tried some suggestions on changing MTU values, but that did not seem to make any difference.
As a work-around, I have ended up keeping the WRT54GL as the main router and using the E4200 in bridged mode for wireless only (not what I ideally would like)..
I am unable to access my router through the ip address (192.168.1.1) even though I have verified that is the address. To be sure, I did an ipconfig release/renew, but no results. I want to limit a user's network access by MAC address and I don't think I can do that without accessing the router thru the ip address.

Now when I attempt to add an additional share, the router lets me create it but when I try to move access groups over from the available groups, the >> buttons are greyed out. The one working share has the admin and Everyone groups with access. Any additional share I create has the admin group in it by default, but I can't add any more groups. I am logged into the router as admin and logged into the pc as a local admin. I am also unable to change the rights from my pc on a share (access denied). I AM, however, able to map a drive to a new share successfully, but when I copy files over, a few minutes later the filenames are there but they show up as 0 byte files.

Yesterday, I went into my router's administration page and disabled http, and enabled https. I then closed out all browsers, restarted them and entered https://192.168.1.1
After that, I learned quickly I made a huge mistake to make these changes. I simply can not access my router admin wired or wirelessly. Accessing the internet works great, but router admin page is a no go.Firefox and IE states, "There is a problem with this website's security certificate." and was unable to proceed.Firefox even gave me the option to accept a security exemption to proceed, but that failed.
I have also tried using the Cisco Connect utility, and that also failed. I have taken these steps and not been able to access my router's admin page.I don't want to take the last final resort to reset my router and re-enter my settings again. i want to block all internet access on all my computers from the time range of 9 PM to 8 PM. Yes, that gives 1 hour of internet access per day. However, it seems that there are certain rules of the router that won't let me do this. It seems I can't make 2 different policies for PC's within the same IP range (192.168.1.0 to 192.168.1.254) , it gives me the error: "The values you entered are invalid. Please try again."every time I try to do so. And when I try to give the time range from 9 PM to 8 PM it gives an error stating that the end time must be bigger than start time. I am using the WRT54GL with firmware v4.30.7.

Everything works fine, I have wifi and I can use it to connect to the internet. However when I go to my router (192.168.x.x) I can't seem to be able to find a wireless tab to configure my wifi settings. The network right now is unsecure and has a default name (linksys). How do I access my wireless settings? When I access my router it does go to the AG214, do I need to access the WRT54GL? If so, how do I do that?

I can access the cameras from my local LAN both when using the local 10. ..and external 99 .. Addresses. When I go off the local connection - Access does not work. The former service (modem) was a cisco (1 port) that I connected my EA 2700 Cisco router to and it worked like a charm. My IP phones came right up as well. Now I have an modem/router combo (provided by my ISP) and when ever I attempt to connect to my VPN it will give me an error and not connect. I was told by my ISP that I could bridge the router and try that way.Do I need to set up all over again? or have the settings remained. Also I am unable to access my router with admin/password. When I get to the certificate error and hit the "yes, i understand, continue", it comes back with a 'can't be reached' page and looking into the details says the 'connection was dropped'. However If I connect from a MacBook / safari, I'm able to reach the page fine (and admin the router).
Using a wrt610n.I am connected to the router, the ip address hasn't changed, the password hasn't changed.I can use the router & connect to the internet.I have the router set to require HTTPS, but switching it to allow HTTP doesn't work. Both Wired & Wireless Win 7 / IE9 machines can't connect.Tried setting the router ip address to 'trusted' zone in IE. Tried setting the router ip address to the 'compatibility' mode in IE. Tried using latest version of Firefox with the same results.

After I connected it with my BEFW11S4 and installed the WD interface, I found that I hung when I tried to access my aol email account, either using AOL's own software or using the AOL mail link on the AOL home page on Firefox. View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been having a strange intermitent problem with my E1500 wireless router. When we first bought and installed it everything was working well with no known problems. After several months no one using the router was able to access certain websites as well as a game server that we play on. No one had made any changes to the router settings and I assumed at first that it was an ISP problem. After talking with our ISP tech support they finally suggested plugging my PC directly into the modem rather then the router. I did and found that the websites and servers that previously wouldn't connect while using the router were now reachable. Any changes to the router settings since installation.I decided that just in case someone unauthorized had made changes to simply revert the router to factory settings and reinstall the software. After doing this I found that I could again reach the websites and servers that I previously could not. So time went on with no problems until a few months later when the same websites and servers were again unreachable by anyone on our router. I again reset the router to factory settings and changed passwords as a precaution, but this time the websites and servers were unreachable even though I had just reset the router.
