There are plenty of instructions to configure USB storage but there are no instructions on how to use it, specifically. Ok, so I have my ftp address, user name and password and tried to connect with Filezilla on my local network. Unable to connect. Also, the USB device does not even show up in Network settings. However, I am able to see the device as a media server from Sony Playstation.

Router communicates fine with laptop and wifi printer but when she tries to connect her iphone (I think iphone4), phone states that password is incorrect. She is using the same password that she used for the printer and laptop which is the router default one which is a series of mixed numbers and letters.

I am moving abroad for an extended amount of time, though, so I would also like to connect to this USB drive using FTP. Using the new Cisco Connect Cloud interface, I have enabled FTP sharing for the USB storage device with port 21 and using standard UTF-8 encoding. Whenever I try to connect to the FTP server using my router login credentials, I get the following error message:"There was a problem connecting to the server xx.xxx.xxx.xx. This file server will not allow any additional users to log on. Try to connect again later"

Is the USB storage set up.One thing (very important) Linksys has failed to explain how to gain access to the USB storage once connected to the router. Once the USB storage drive it set up. Or at least I think it's set up. Nothing shows up on my network page. So how am I to get access to the drive? Just purchased a ea4500 router. Have setup multiple computers/devices already and works great. This computer (HP dv6000 running Win Vista home prem) however will not connect to the internet. It states that it is connected to the router (computer sees router), using the cloud connect app on my iphone i can see this computer, but will not allow access to the internet (local connection only). It works fine with the wired connection. When attempting to use the cloud connect software, it says it was unable to complete the install. Have attempted trying while connected by wire as well, same result. Have deleted the wireless connection and allowed software to find connection, still same result, cannot install. Wireless worked perfectly with previous router (WRT54G) three days ago.

New laptops, PS3, friends laptops. Error message would suggest that password is being entered incorrectly, but I change the password to very basic word (idiot proof) but no luck.

Set it up in no time with a Mixed network on WPA2 Personal, Internet's fine, but I can't see any of my wired clients. They don't ping at all. Even stranger, if I plug into another wired switch port with my laptop, I STILL can't ping the other clients. One is a NAS and one is a network printer so there are no firewalls involved. I power cycled the printer but in vain. I've already reset to factory defaults once, but that didn't work. I'm thinking I'll need to return it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a EA4500 that I get error 2315 when I try to Delete,change name,or icon. I did a 30/30/30 and everything worked great,24 hours later I was back to error 2315. I tried re-flashing the firmware, but that didn't work. I get the same problems when I try using the Smart Wifi app. There are also times when I can not access the router using Smart Wifi unless I reboot the router when I get home.

I can access the cameras from my local LAN both when using the local 10. ..and external 99 .. Addresses. When I go off the local connection - Access does not work. Slingbox did its auto configuration and I can access it. I just cant get to camera devices (Panosonic, Foscam, etc.).

But, no matter how many times I try, I cannot enter its IP address in the address bar and see its settings. I change its IP to192 168 1 200. Subset 255... DG 192 168 1 1 DNS same.Under router address 192 168 0 1I CANNOT access this router at 192 168 0 1 at all. The thing is, the **bleep** settings are not any different the. How they were when it was WORKING. I literally took a screenshot of my setting in case a scenario like this would come up, yet it more problems arise. The only way I can access the router is by doing a factory reset and accessing it at 192 168 1 1.

When we come back in range, our iPhone's intermittently give the error "Unable to join network.". And we're stuck in that mode. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am looking to expand my network. I purchased a WD N900 router to replace my old Linksys E1200 .The internet connection is coming from the modem, into the WD N900 Router. The WD N900 has the printer hooked up to it, and 3 NAS, a computer and our magic jack. I ran 30 feet of network cable and routed the cable through the walls into the section of the house. I am looking to use my old Linksys E1200 to extend my network. I want to hook up the gaming systems (PS3, XBOX360) as well as the entertainment receiver to my Linksys router. What is the best setup? I am looking to be able to access the NAS from the WD N900 on our PS3 and Xbox360 so LAN-LAN looks like the way to go. I tried using the directions on Linksys site, but it doesn't seem to want to work. I test the network cable I ran through the walls, and it is getting a good signal. However when I hook it up to the Linksys E1200 and connect my lap top the Linksys E1200 to test it isn't working.

The odd thing is when I first hooked up up it seemed to work fine than a day later it just stopped. All other computers are fine and if I try to connect to another network it works fine. Type in facebook and you get an invalid URL and would have to reset the router to get it to work. Now I bought a new Cisco router and am regretting it. The n900 was a pretty penny and now ALL my videos are always buffering. I have several computers connected, but not active. The internet is painfully slow with the new router, but lightning fast with out it.
Currently using my laptop secuirty settings are IPv6/ and 4 SPI Firewall Protection: Enabled WPA2/WPA mixed mode.
I have tried everything: Rebooting, up to date firmware, resetting, What should I do next? Disable some of its advanced features? Cisco is earning a bad rap with me if a router that boasts high internet speeds makes all my videos buffer and load painfully slow. Let alone getting through all the commercials on the internet now.
I upgraded my router's firmware automatically. Then I wasn't able to connect to ciscoconnectcloud. I then thought It might be better to do the upgrade manually, so I downloaded the classic firmware, and rolled it back. I then downloaded the Smart Wifi firmware and the Smart Wifi setup software and did the manual upgrade. Now, I'm able to connect when I use the old 192.168.1.1 address, but not to ciscoconnectcloud.com, and even then I had to refresh a couple of times to get it to work.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been using my EA4500 since it's original launch date as a PPPoE router through another router/modem which is the Netgear DG834G V4 set to Modem Only mode which was working fine for a long time!A month ago, a friend wanted to borrow the Netgear Router and after he gave it back I reset it like I always do and entered my settings in router mode(i.e. username and password) to check if I havewe working Internet connection and that the router is working properly and it was working properly like it was before I lent it. Now comes the problem, if I keep using the Netgear router as the PPPoE handler and make the EA4500 work as "Automatic Configuration DHCP" it works flawlessly but if I set the Netgear router to modem mode and make the EA4500 handle the PPPoE connection, the report in the troubleshooting tab keeps on saying "Connecting" endlessly!
Note: I've replicatedthe settings that I used on both router before and after lending it to my friend so there's no difference in settings!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new router for my home network. It is the Cisco linksys EA4500. It looks great and is rich with features but I just wish I didn't buy it!
My old wireless router started to have its wireless signal very weak, hence this new linksys router. When it is time to setup the router, I just did what was supposed to be done(which is very straight forward, just a matter of choosing pppoe and inputting a username and password) and went ahead to test the internet connection which didn't work! Upon inspection, I discovered that the lights on the internet port on the router(WAN port) didn't turn on at all as if the cable wasn't connected. I quickly checked all connections and to kill any doubt I reconnected the cable to the old router to make sure it is working and it worked. So there is nothing wrong with the cable!
I tried everything one can think of to no avail. The only conclusion one would draw from this whole scenario is that the new router is bad. So, I took it back to the shop I bought it from and before giving me another one, he said he will test it out and I said okay. Surprisingly enough, it just worked !!! Don't ask me why but it just did work beautifully, although at my house if you plug the cat6 cable(that you know for sure has internet) into its internet port, it won't even turn its lights on.
My EA4500 has the newest firmware and is properly configured to support 20+ wireless and wired devices. It does this job well.Guest Access, however, is a problem. It works for about a day, then stops.Guests can access the login screen and enter the password. Then nothing happens. The screen appears to "load", but it does not connect.I have tried returning to default settings and reconfiguring and reupdating firmware. I have tried turning Guest Access on and off, as well as resetting the password.The only that works is rebooting the router. This is obviously not practical, especially for a contract client.

It gets an IP address (192.168.1.141), but does not offer a wireless network (the ethernet ports do offer network acces). When I try to access the configuration on IP address 192.168.1.141 I get the Linksys Smart Wifi page asking for the password. When I enter the password, a message "Waiting" appears and that's all. It keeps me waiting forever and I cannot access the configuration settings.I have tried to reset the router (30sec. reset button, power off 30sec, power on) but the result is the same.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have problem connecting my Oppo blu-ray player (BDP-95) to the CISCO EA4500 router.I had a buffalo router before and everything was fine.I bought the EA4500 a few months ago. All was fine when I set up the Wi-Fi connection to all my existing devices, including, notebook, iPad, iPhone, TV, etc. But the only exception is my Oppo blu-ray player. The oppo player can detect the SSID of EA4500, after entering the security password, it just shows "Connection Failed!"
However, my Oppo player can connect to other wireless access point (e.g. the wi-fi sharing from my Android Phone.)I have tested almost everything in the past few months....including, upgrade firmware, factory reset the router, turn off all the security setting in my router. But none of them works.Frankly speaking, I am quite familar with the setup of such wireless stuffs. ( I had almost 10 wireless at home and every device was setup without any problem)
