I am trying long distance to set up above router. Router communicates fine with laptop and wifi printer but when she tries to connect her iphone (I think iphone4), phone states that password is incorrect. She is using the same password that she used for the printer and laptop which is the router default one which is a series of mixed numbers and letters.

Ok, so I have my ftp address, user name and password and tried to connect with Filezilla on my local network. Unable to connect. Also, the USB device does not even show up in Network settings. View 3 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a Linksys EA 4500.I set up the wifi properly, with laptops, tablets, smartphones and printer. The wifi network worked fine for a couple of days.But now one of the laptop "refuses" to see the Linksys wifi network. The other devices are still connected and running regularly.
The notebook that does not connect anymore is an ACER 5740DG with an Atheros Network adapter and Windows 7 installed. This notebook is otherwise running fine.At the beginning it was connecting ok and we never had any problem at all with the previous router Belkin_N+_7991AC, that I changed just for speed.
Now the Linksys network is simply not visible to such notebook in the "Available Connections List" that I get clicking on the WiFi icon in the bottom right, while a number of other wifi networks (not mine) are clearly visible. Of course I restarted the notebook properly. For one time I got the visibility of the Linksys, I entered the password and then it was not possible to see the network anymore.No error message from Smart WiFi software.
I just set up a linksys n900. On one of the laptops that have vista it doesn't connect to the internet. The odd thing is when I first hooked up up it seemed to work fine than a day later it just stopped. All other computers are fine and if I try to connect to another network it works fine. Just when I try my home network it has issues.

When we come back in range, our iPhone's intermittently give the error "Unable to join network.". And we're stuck in that mode. When I check the Devices menu in the CCC interface, I notice the iPhone device is configured and still online. However the "x" box to delete the device is greyed out because it's online. So how do I get out of this state and have my iPhone connect

I tried and followed the steps provided here but it doesn't work at all for the Xth time already.
The first router installed and ran flawlessly in minutes. The second one has failed to work in bridge mode for 3 hours now.
I would rather have wireless to wireless . Like I said I have a new EA4500 trying to extended my wireless connection to my back yard still having the same trouble of small to no signal, I have a Belkin N+ Ver.2 that I had been using with the same trouble. I would like to connect the belkin N+ to the EA4500 to extend my wi-fi to my back yard and back half of my house.

I've tried disconnecting router and restarting, plugging iPhone into iMac laptop, etc. (PC is hardwired into server and PC laptop, iMac laptop and former iPhone 3 all connected to wifi w/o difficulty.) Went to site of purchase (12/2011) of Lynksys E2500. They suggested might need to download a driver.how to locate and install updates to driver for E2500 to allow connection to iPhone 4S?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with connectivity and my iPhone 5. The Wi-Fi is okay in some parts of my home network, however in others it is abysmmal. When I bring my computer to the places where the iPhone has problems with signal strength/staying connected the computers have full or almost full strength and no problems. I upgraded firmware for the router, spoke with applecare, have reset the router multiple times, and have been trying different channels. I had the phone in with the Apple store where they concluded nothing seems wrong with the hardware. The phone doesn't seem to have problems like this on other wifi networks I have tried. Using a speed test on the iPhone at home in the low connectivity areas results in horrendously poor latency numbers.

It connects intermittently but the connection is always lost within a few minutes to a couple hours. I have turned off all of the firewalls, and all other devices connect fine. It is an ea4500 running on updated firmware and a Samsung 6900 smart tv. The connection works if I run an ehternet cable to it oith from the modem as well as from the router, but it does not work over the wireless connection.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I send video file(overall bit rate is 17.5Mbps) to client with 2.4Ghz band, it always freezes and go repeatedly around 1 second interval. the distance around 10m away without any wall, open space actually.
But same condition with above, cheaper wireless router no problem at all. It happens only with EA4500. And there are no any parameters setting menu actually.
I ran the upgrade program this morning to upgrade my EA4500 to use the cloud based software. The router is back online and everything appears ok but the program is still running and the progress is sitting at 95%. It's been like this for the past 15 minutes.

I cannot get my wireless devices (specifically my apple tv) to see my NAS or my itunes PC, My ipads can access the NAS if i put in the correct address but not automatically.
Everything is connected to my cisco switch that is hardwired (2 xboxes, 2 ps3, 3 tv's, Wii, network audio receiver, 2 NAS, printer, 2 computers, etc). I disabled the Wi-Fi on the bell router. On the wifi are a few ipads, 3 blackberries, 1 iphone, 2 laptops).I am fully aware that the reason the wireless devices cannot see the hardwired equipment is because it is on a different subnet.
However when i try and change the IP address of the router to 192.168.2.2 (putting it on the same subnet) the router must detect a conflict then changes itself to a class A address (10.x.x.x) OR i get an INVALID IP address. As well i have noticed an overall degradation in the speed of my network (all gigabit hardware with cat 6 cabling)
My two devices access the 2.4 ghz wireless network fine on my EA4500.Both my devices, laptop and iPhone4, have N rated network cards. What do I need to use the 5.0 ghz wireless network on the EA4500?Can the iPhone4 use a 5.0 wireless network? When I try to add the 5.0 ghz Wi-Fi to my iPhone4, it cannot find the named but hidden SSID network??
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I went out and bought a brand new EA4500, because I thought my old router was bad due to horrific wifi Speeds on my Wireless devices like my laptop and Samsung Galaxy S3. Well now I have the same issue with this new router.My speed from comcast straight from the modem is 25mbps down and 5mbps up, on the routers through a wired connection I get the same thing. As soon as a switch over to Wireless my connection goes from 25mpbs/5mpbs to less then 2mbps down. I've reduced the MTU, and I've tried turning off QoS. Nothing seems to work
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy new EA4500 works fine all day, both wireless and wifi, on both bands, but nearly every evening, the wifi signal disappears, as shown on a wifi app for my smart phone, but not on Issid on my laptop, strangely, and my PC laptop and iPad both disconnect, then reconnect. Smart phone disconnects too. It isn't like the signal drops in strength, it just goes away! I have tried various settings on modes, and bandwidths, I am using different SSID's on each band, WPA2 security with a long non-dictionary passphrase and MAC filtering. The hardwire connection works great at 30+ Mbps even when the wifi is disappearing from the wifi scanner and the wifi connections are dropping. In other words, the cable connection/modem is working fine, but the wifi radio signal stops or the SSID drops off the signal. I really can't tell, but I know it is becoming very frustrating. The old WRT54GS works fine if I put it back on-line in the evening when these things start to happen.
I have turned off everything I can think of in the house that transmits or might transmit, in case it is an interference thing. I have tried disabling the 5 GHz side, since I can't see what is happening on that band, and the last thing I tried was changing the MTU from 1500 to 1400. So far, the past evening, it was okay, but I am not confident it will stay that way.
Last Sunday, I put lots of music files into usb storage, a external harddrive linked to EA4500. which is WD element 3T.Last Wednesday, I re-organize file folders. And then yesterday(Friday), I found all my files were lost.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI own a ea4500 wireless router, I have tested the speed at speedtest.net and wirelessly I get around 9 mbps. My speed is 23 mbps when I hard wired the pc. I have check the speed on a tablet ( android ), pc and a mac to about 5 feet away from the router with no walls or anything between the two devices.I have checked all the settings but I don't see anything wrong, I have changed to N mode only to make sure I use top speed.All my devices are able to use N.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bought the top end ea4500 hoping its "high end" claims would get a better wifi signal in my bedroom(on my iphone 4s) than what i was getting with my WRT54G.The end result is it constantly drops signal completely or shows my network but when I try to connect says "cannot connect to wireless network" even though it's staring me right in the face. When I hook my WRT54G up, I get a signal.. all be it weak, but at least it doesn't drop out on me.Did I just waste almost $200 on a high end router that can't push a signal out stronger than my almost 7 year old WRT54G? or am i missing some setting that will make this EA4500 worth its claims? settings info:everything is pretty much on "default" aside from the SSIDs for the different bands and the corresponding WPA passwords.
also another problem, it seems like the router itself craps out every 60-120 minutes, no leds lit up on the router and my modem (Cisco DCP3010) shows no "link". Yet when hooked directly to the PC there is a "link", so pretty sure its the router and not the modem.
I have the N900 model and would like to connect a hard drive via usb. The router can see the external hard drive but the problem I run into is the HD uses a password to open it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am looking to expand my network. I purchased a WD N900 router to replace my old Linksys E1200 .The internet connection is coming from the modem, into the WD N900 Router. The WD N900 has the printer hooked up to it, and 3 NAS, a computer and our magic jack. I ran 30 feet of network cable and routed the cable through the walls into the section of the house. I am looking to use my old Linksys E1200 to extend my network. I want to hook up the gaming systems (PS3, XBOX360) as well as the entertainment receiver to my Linksys router. What is the best setup? I am looking to be able to access the NAS from the WD N900 on our PS3 and Xbox360 so LAN-LAN looks like the way to go. I tried using the directions on Linksys site, but it doesn't seem to want to work. I test the network cable I ran through the walls, and it is getting a good signal. However when I hook it up to the Linksys E1200 and connect my lap top the Linksys E1200 to test it isn't working.

But I have a 10.71 network installed and cannot change the 192.168 to 10.71. I suppose this is a bug.

The only problem is I cannot access the router either locally or through the Smart Wifi dashboard. Everytime I go to the page with "Access Router", enter the password and clikc the "Submit" button it does nothing...no incorrect password prompt or idle prompt...almost like the page is broken somehow. I've done all of the usual, restart router, restart PC, restart cable modem, etc. and always having the same result.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI purchased this Router about 2 weeks ago as a phased upgrade of our Home Network, primarily to enhance media streaming. It has the latest firmware preinstalled from the factory. Prior to the purchase and installation of the EA4500 Router I replaced my old Motorola SurfBoard SB6120 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem with a Motorola SurfBoard SB6141 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. My old Linksys E2000 Router worked perfectly with the SB6141, with the exception that the E2000 wasn’t IPv6 enabled, but does have 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet (RJ-45) and Internet ports.
The EA4500 has been installed for about 10 days and seems to have improved local network speeds and I don’t seem to be having any Internet connectivity issues. However, there are some disturbing issues with the EA4500 and the AE3000 I purchased. There are 11 devices connected through the Router; a Dell Desktop (wireless with the AE3000), a Dell Desktop (Ethernet), a Dell Laptop (wireless), 2 Canon Printers (1 Ethernet and 1 Wireless), 2 Western Digital 1TB MyBookLive Network Drives (both Ethernet), a WD TV Live Streaming Media Player (wireless), an Apple TV media player (wireless), an iPad (wireless), and an Android Smartphone (wireless).
Issue 1 – The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi interface appears to be unreliable at times!!! I’ve read about this problem here on the Community involving the EA6500, so I don’t know if this is a Linksys Server issue, as suggested in a few responses, or a bug in the Router firmware, or defective hardware. However, when the interface locks up, it can’t be accessed from a wireless or wired connection. Usually, powering down the Router and then powering it back up and restart will allow it to function again. However, at times before the interface completely locks up it shows either just a white screen or the security screen will show no firewall features enabled. This is a little scary, so I’ll do a complete reset and setup; this is becoming a pain in the rear! Is there any hope for this being fixed, in this Router, not the next generation?
Issue 2 - All of my network devices show up in the Router’s Device List. Except for the Apple devices they also show up, when they are online, in Windows 7 Explorer under Network and when you click on Network they are correctly displayed as Computers, Media Devices, Network Infrastructure, or Storage. However, when you click on “Open Network and Sharing Center” and then click on “See Full Map”; it fails with the response “Windows cannot create the network map. Responses from other devices on the network are delayed or there is an incompatible router on the network”; no device map is shown. When I follow the link for more information, the only thing that stands out is “A device on the network, such as a hub or switch, is not working properly or is not compatible with the Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) protocol, which Windows uses to create the map. To fix this problem, disable the device, turn it off, or remove it from your network”. All of my network devices showed up on the Network Map with the old E2000. This issue is the same on all of my computers, either wired or wireless.
I’m having with the EA4500 and the AE3000; they are both probably going back to Amazon.
I am using a EA4500 and use Linksys Smart Wi-Fi to manage the device. In the household we have multiple Apple i devices. Somehow the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi combined two separte i devices (iPhone 5 and a 4th generation iTouch) to one user.The devices actually have different names, but the Smart Wi-Fi is combining them into one device. So I can't use Parental Controls on one of the devices.

However I see no way to perform the association step - my account exists and my router is configured.I am doing all this behind this router wi-fi network not remotely.
I recently upgraded my router because my last cisco router was having a misdirect issue. Type in facebook and you get an invalid URL and would have to reset the router to get it to work. Now I bought a new Cisco router and am regretting it. The n900 was a pretty penny and now ALL my videos are always buffering. I have several computers connected, but not active. The internet is painfully slow with the new router, but lightning fast with out it.
Currently using my laptop secuirty settings are IPv6/ and 4 SPI Firewall Protection: Enabled WPA2/WPA mixed mode.
I have tried everything: Rebooting, up to date firmware, resetting, What should I do next? Disable some of its advanced features? Cisco is earning a bad rap with me if a router that boasts high internet speeds makes all my videos buffer and load painfully slow. Let alone getting through all the commercials on the internet now.
I have a Cisco Linksys EA4500 router that I would like to be able to connect to the LAN network in my building. The router is currently providing internet over wifi, but I'm not able to access the LAN network. I'm using DC++ to connect to a hub in our building, and this works fine if I directly connect my computer to the wall - I can get internet and LAN access. I can also see the other computers in the 'network' section of 'computer' in windows. I can't see any of the other computers in the 'network' section if I use my router (only devices connected to my router). I would like to be able to be able to connect to the internet and the LAN network over my wireless?
