I have several devices connected to my EA4500 (two wired computers, two wireless laptops, iPhone, iPad, and a network drive). i have not been able to connect any new devices wirelessly. New laptops, PS3, friends laptops. Error message would suggest that password is being entered incorrectly, but I change the password to very basic word (idiot proof) but no luck.
View 9 RepliesI just switched to the EA4500 Router and I'm now unable to remotely access my camera devices. I have done the port forward. I can access the cameras from my local LAN both when using the local 10. ..and external 99 .. Addresses. When I go off the local connection - Access does not work. Slingbox did its auto configuration and I can access it. I just cant get to camera devices (Panosonic, Foscam, etc.).

This computer (HP dv6000 running Win Vista home prem) however will not connect to the internet. It states that it is connected to the router (computer sees router), using the cloud connect app on my iphone i can see this computer, but will not allow access to the internet (local connection only). It works fine with the wired connection. When attempting to use the cloud connect software, it says it was unable to complete the install. Have attempted trying while connected by wire as well, same result. Have deleted the wireless connection and allowed software to find connection, still same result, cannot install. Wireless worked perfectly with previous router (WRT54G) three days ago.

Ok, so I have my ftp address, user name and password and tried to connect with Filezilla on my local network. Unable to connect. Also, the USB device does not even show up in Network settings. Devices on the wireless network, those that have been on the network, are able to disconnect and reconnect. Just new devices are excluded. Have gone through the admin screens to see if something is amiss but can not find anything.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an EA 4500. Tonight I was trying to see what devices were connected. The window shows 0 devices connected, although about 20 devices are connected and working. When I click on "Devices Connected", I get the spinning wheel, and after multiple attempts by the application to list devices, I receive a message that the application does not work. I have the latest firmware installed. This is a recent issue. I have not made any changes to network configuration, nor to any of the devices that all have internet access. I will note that I did not set up a separate SSID for each band. But that did not seem to be an issue in previous months. I also cannot access the router ui from my windows 7 desktop. I can access the abbreviated ui through my Android phone. I tried connecting through smart wi-fi and by ip of the router. I just get the endless spinning circle of dots. I am running Windows 7 all up to date. All drivers are up to date.

I cannot get my wireless devices (specifically my apple tv) to see my NAS or my itunes PC, My ipads can access the NAS if i put in the correct address but not automatically.
Everything is connected to my cisco switch that is hardwired (2 xboxes, 2 ps3, 3 tv's, Wii, network audio receiver, 2 NAS, printer, 2 computers, etc). I disabled the Wi-Fi on the bell router. On the wifi are a few ipads, 3 blackberries, 1 iphone, 2 laptops).I am fully aware that the reason the wireless devices cannot see the hardwired equipment is because it is on a different subnet.
However when i try and change the IP address of the router to 192.168.2.2 (putting it on the same subnet) the router must detect a conflict then changes itself to a class A address (10.x.x.x) OR i get an INVALID IP address. As well i have noticed an overall degradation in the speed of my network (all gigabit hardware with cat 6 cabling)
I am looking to track what my kids are doing on the internet. I have an ea4500 and was wondering if there is a detailed log file that I can look at?

It also seems to randomly shuffle which devices to show as connected, even though several more than nine are connected and online. Does anyone else's device list limit itself to displaying only nine devices? The Linksys phone apps also display a maximum of nine devices. I like the routers new user interface and understand that it has received a lot of praise, however this is the second bug I've experienced in as many months (the first being a failure of the device list to update once devices are upgraded to Windows 8, requiring a reset to default settings in order to fix).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just now installed a new EA4500 Router. It installed itself automatically without a problem, by running the setup CD. No devices other than my hard wired computer and modem are connected yet.
When I went into Start > Cisco Connect to look around and check it's version, etc., I immediately got a "There's an important update for your router" notice. My concern is not wanting to install The Cloud at this time (although I wouldn't rule it out later). There has not been a trace of it so far.
I currently have Firmware Version: 2.0.36.126507 and Software Version: 1.4.12100.0. What this Important Update may be? Is it the "dreaded" Cloud? I'd rather avoid the whole rolling back to pre-Cloud issue for now, if possible.
I setup several devices in the Parental Controls to be blocked always. These devices are still able to connect to the router. I tried rebooting the router but the problem persists. I have two laptops and two iPod Touches that can connect regardless of the access restrictions.

Set it up in no time with a Mixed network on WPA2 Personal, Internet's fine, but I can't see any of my wired clients. They don't ping at all. Even stranger, if I plug into another wired switch port with my laptop, I STILL can't ping the other clients. One is a NAS and one is a network printer so there are no firewalls involved. I power cycled the printer but in vain. I've already reset to factory defaults once, but that didn't work. I'm thinking I'll need to return it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a EA4500 that I get error 2315 when I try to Delete,change name,or icon. I did a 30/30/30 and everything worked great,24 hours later I was back to error 2315. I tried re-flashing the firmware, but that didn't work. I get the same problems when I try using the Smart Wifi app. There are also times when I can not access the router using Smart Wifi unless I reboot the router when I get home.

But, no matter how many times I try, I cannot enter its IP address in the address bar and see its settings. I change its IP to192 168 1 200. Subset 255... DG 192 168 1 1 DNS same.Under router address 192 168 0 1I CANNOT access this router at 192 168 0 1 at all. The thing is, the **bleep** settings are not any different the. How they were when it was WORKING. I literally took a screenshot of my setting in case a scenario like this would come up, yet it more problems arise. The only way I can access the router is by doing a factory reset and accessing it at 192 168 1 1.

When we come back in range, our iPhone's intermittently give the error "Unable to join network.". And we're stuck in that mode. When I check the Devices menu in the CCC interface, I notice the iPhone device is configured and still online. However the "x" box to delete the device is greyed out because it's online. They both access the router via wifi and wired, but neither appear in the device list any longer. I've rebooted the router twice, as well as both computers, disabled/re-enabled their wifi connections, but no effect.Every other non-Windows 8 device still appears normally under the device list.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI can get regarding using the Collobos Fingerprint software through my WRT150N router. I'm using Windows XP SP3 and immediatly after installing (which went extreamy well) it immediatly found and listed all of my home network printers. All of the wired and wireless windows based systems in my house can see and print to the printers without any problem. However, getting ANY of my apple devices (iPad, iPhone etc ) to print will not even show them as listed on the device when I select print on the devices. Collobos says that I have to make sure that Ports UDP 5353 doe Bonjour and TCP 6361 for FingerPrint need to be open both ways for it to work, I have no problem getting into the router settings and have set them up as stated above in Port Range Triggering and enabled. Also made sure Filter Multicast was not check marked in Security. Unfortunatly, that doesn't seem to work as I had hoped.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my router's firmware automatically. Then I wasn't able to connect to ciscoconnectcloud. I then thought It might be better to do the upgrade manually, so I downloaded the classic firmware, and rolled it back. I then downloaded the Smart Wifi firmware and the Smart Wifi setup software and did the manual upgrade. Now, I'm able to connect when I use the old 192.168.1.1 address, but not to ciscoconnectcloud.com, and even then I had to refresh a couple of times to get it to work.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been using my EA4500 since it's original launch date as a PPPoE router through another router/modem which is the Netgear DG834G V4 set to Modem Only mode which was working fine for a long time!A month ago, a friend wanted to borrow the Netgear Router and after he gave it back I reset it like I always do and entered my settings in router mode(i.e. username and password) to check if I havewe working Internet connection and that the router is working properly and it was working properly like it was before I lent it. Now comes the problem, if I keep using the Netgear router as the PPPoE handler and make the EA4500 work as "Automatic Configuration DHCP" it works flawlessly but if I set the Netgear router to modem mode and make the EA4500 handle the PPPoE connection, the report in the troubleshooting tab keeps on saying "Connecting" endlessly!
Note: I've replicatedthe settings that I used on both router before and after lending it to my friend so there's no difference in settings!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new router for my home network. It is the Cisco linksys EA4500. It looks great and is rich with features but I just wish I didn't buy it!
My old wireless router started to have its wireless signal very weak, hence this new linksys router. When it is time to setup the router, I just did what was supposed to be done(which is very straight forward, just a matter of choosing pppoe and inputting a username and password) and went ahead to test the internet connection which didn't work! Upon inspection, I discovered that the lights on the internet port on the router(WAN port) didn't turn on at all as if the cable wasn't connected. I quickly checked all connections and to kill any doubt I reconnected the cable to the old router to make sure it is working and it worked. So there is nothing wrong with the cable!
I tried everything one can think of to no avail. The only conclusion one would draw from this whole scenario is that the new router is bad. So, I took it back to the shop I bought it from and before giving me another one, he said he will test it out and I said okay. Surprisingly enough, it just worked !!! Don't ask me why but it just did work beautifully, although at my house if you plug the cat6 cable(that you know for sure has internet) into its internet port, it won't even turn its lights on.
