Where can I find a log or list of devices that attempted to access my EA4500 wireless network?I am using the cloud services to monitor my EA4500 usage in an apartment environment.
View 1 RepliesI've recently purchased a Linksys EA4500 router. I've got home, I've used the installation guide CD thingy, connected 3 of my laptops wirelessly, no issue there.However when I tried to connect my 4th laptop problems came along. The problem I was dealing with was that I couldn't connect to the router. I mean I could see the network name appearing in the list, but when I tried to connect the network would just dissapear from the list, not connect, and wouldn't back on the list unless I've reset the laptop. Anyhow I've ignored that computer because I thought it was two years old and it might have had a wireless network adaptor issue, although it was conneting with no problem to my former router D-Link DIR 365.Anyway, just yesterday I've purchesed a brand new netbook (Evolio U9) and it doesn't see my router, although it sees all the other connection availables (my neighbors' wirless networks), I even connected to one of them just to test if anything was wrong with the netbook.

I also have problems when trying to connect with an Iphone 4. Well, it does connect, but the connection to the iphone just goes on and off making it impossible to use. It's really strange that all the 3 Iphones in my home have no issue connecting, not even my Glaxy S3, nor any of the Smart Tvs, nor the printer.Does the router have any number of limited connections available? The router configuration is the ones done from the CD. I've only assign a SSID and a WPA password.Please note that all the computers above are GENIUNE Windows
I just switched to the EA4500 Router and I'm now unable to remotely access my camera devices.  I have done the port forward.  I can access the cameras from my local LAN both when using the local 10. ..and external 99 .. Addresses.  When I go off the local connection -  Access does not work. Slingbox did its auto configuration and I can access it.  I just cant get to camera devices (Panosonic, Foscam, etc.). Â

This is not an issue in itself and normally I would ignore (although it used to show up when I forst got the router) however..

The device is a WDTVLive media unit and required access to windows shares on a media server. Now the WDTVLive device is server an ip address by the router and is available from everywhere on my network but every couple of days it loses the capacity to search windows shares.

I know what you are thinking and I initially thought the same, this is an issue with the WDTVLive box. However one day I spent a few hours trying to resolve (Am an IT Consultant and know a little about networks) and found that I could not fix the issue. I then rebooted the router and it started working. I have since confirmed that every time it breaks I have to reboot the router.
I have an EA6500 and have three AppleTV... all three generations.l I also have a DirecTV Genie and DirecTV HD-DVR that, together, provide whole-house viewing. When I first setup the EA6400 based network, all three AppleTVs were listed and my whole-house viewing worked. This past Saturday, however, that changed, when I couldn't see the programs recorded on the HD-DVR, from the Genie. My troubleshooting determined one of the AppleTVs had been assigned the same address as the HD-DVR upstairs and that the HD-DVR wasn't listed as being connected. Once I reset everything, the IPs resolved and the whole-house viewing was resolved, however, none of the AppleTVs are listed as connected, even though they are. I can check the connections by the AppleTV device and see that they do, indeed, have an IP address, and I can view material from the iTunes cloud or stored on another PC in the local network. I reset everything again, but to no avail. No AppleTV devies show as connected from Smart Wi-Fi. The AppeTVs are all wired to the LAN... not wireless.

So, the question is, is there a fix to get AppleTV devices to list? All of my devices and router have the lastest firmware. BTW, I had a WRT610N, which I'm now useing as an access point, didn't have this issue.
I'm using the EA4500 router with Cisco Cloud Connect. Â I've noticed under Devices I'll see devices named "Network Device". Â They have a generic MAC address with something like "00:00:00:00:2F". Â They will have an IP that's already assigned to another device.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an EA 4500. Tonight I was trying to see what devices were connected. The window shows 0 devices connected, although about 20 devices are connected and working. When I click on "Devices Connected", I get the spinning wheel, and after multiple attempts by the application to list devices, I receive a message that the application does not work. I have the latest firmware installed. This is a recent issue. I have not made any changes to network configuration, nor to any of the devices that all have internet access. I will note that I did not set up a separate SSID for each band. But that did not seem to be an issue in previous months. I also cannot access the router ui from my windows 7 desktop. I can access the abbreviated ui through my Android phone. I tried connecting through smart wi-fi and by ip of the router. I just get the endless spinning circle of dots. I am running Windows 7 all up to date. All drivers are up to date.

I cannot get my wireless devices (specifically my apple tv) to see my NAS or my itunes PC, My ipads can access the NAS if i put in the correct address but not automatically.

Everything is connected to my cisco switch that is hardwired (2 xboxes, 2 ps3, 3 tv's, Wii, network audio receiver, 2 NAS, printer, 2 computers, etc). I disabled the Wi-Fi on the bell router. On the wifi are a few ipads, 3 blackberries, 1 iphone, 2 laptops).I am fully aware that the reason the wireless devices cannot see the hardwired equipment is because it is on a different subnet.
However when i try and change the IP address of the router to 192.168.2.2 (putting it on the same subnet) the router must detect a conflict then changes itself to a class A address (10.x.x.x) OR i get an INVALID IP address. As well i have noticed an overall degradation in the speed of my network (all gigabit hardware with cat 6 cabling)
I recently got an EA4500 from a friend and when I tried to run the Cisco Connect CD on my MacBook it gets to 25% and then stops and says it can't find a router. I've reset, powercycled, unplugged, plugged, searched, and searched but I cant seem to get it to find the router.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy EA4500 with the latest firmware will only display nine connected devices at a time. It also seems to randomly shuffle which devices to show as connected, even though several more than nine are connected and online. Does anyone else's device list limit itself to displaying only nine devices? The Linksys phone apps also display a maximum of nine devices. I like the routers new user interface and understand that it has received a lot of praise, however this is the second bug I've experienced in as many months (the first being a failure of the device list to update once devices are upgraded to Windows 8, requiring a reset to default settings in order to fix).

When I went into Start > Cisco Connect to look around and check it's version, etc., I immediately got a "There's an important update for your router" notice. My concern is not wanting to install The Cloud at this time (although I wouldn't rule it out later). There has not been a trace of it so far.

I currently have Firmware Version: 2.0.36.126507 and Software Version: 1.4.12100.0. What this Important Update may be? Is it the "dreaded" Cloud? I'd rather avoid the whole rolling back to pre-Cloud issue for now, if possible.
I'm trying map the USB hard drive connected to my EA4500 router as a network drive in Windows 7, and it works perfectly until I enable secure folder access on the router.

After enabling secure folder access, and not changing any other settings on the router I first unmount the drive since it was set up without credentials and doesn't work that way any more. When I try to remap the drive I use the same address, but select "Connect using different credentials" When it prompts me for the log in info I try using the router admin account, but it fails to connect.  Windows network diagnostics tells me the device refused the connection. I proceeded to set up an account on the router under the folder access settings with the same username, and password I use on my computer, and tried to connect it without checking "Connect using different credentials" (And typing them in manually if that matters) with the same results.

Even with secure folder access enabled I can still reach the drive just fine by typing "ftp://192.168.1.1/" into file explorer. It prompts me for a username and password, I put in the admin credentials, and I'm in. Even the account I created with the same username/password as my computer works this way.

After disabling secure folder access everything works perfectly fine again... I would MUCH rather do this with it though.

Following these directions: [URL] When clicking the browse button the router shows up when secure folder access is disabled, but does not after it is enabled. I've looked through my windows sharing settings, and haven't noticed anything that should cause problems, pretty much everything is enabled. I've also tried turning off my firewall with no success.
I have EA4500 router with latest firmware update. Cisco Connect Cloud behave strange. Some devices connected to the wireless router appear in CCC and some not. For instance, Iphone is visible, Ipad is not but both have normal accesss to internet.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys EA4500 setup on my corporate network for wireless access.  I have enabled the guest network and from all I can tell it's on a seperate subnet from my internal network like it should be. 192.168.x.x  My internal is on a 10.x.x.x network. I conenct to the guest network using a laptop and I'm prompted for a password to get to the internet, which I like. The one issue I'm seeing is when I'm connected to the guest network I can still do an RDP session to internal resources.  How is this possible if the guest network is on a seperate subnet?I take a laptop which has not been joined to my domain, connect to the guest ssid, and then open an RPD session and enter an IP address for an internal server and it connects.  Is there a setting to keep this from happening

The job doesn´t fail but the log ICServer.log doesn´t got any information and it works for hours and hours and when it finally stops I can see that devices are not attempted.

I have done some succesfull Inventory Collections with Cisco 3750 switches and 805 routes. I have tried witch Cisco 2811 routers and 2950 and 2960 switches but it doesn´t work.

I have tried to update my LMS4.0.1 but it doesn´t find any actualization. However, in the Cisco download page there are some patches.
I recently added several devices to my wireless-g network: Xbox 360, an HTC Smart phone, and an old laptop my buddy gave me (in addition to the 2 desktops that were already on the network). Since doing this, I've had occasional buffering problems when streaming music or video, even when I'm only using 1 of the devices. I suspect that the Xbox (or maybe phone) is downloading updates in the background, even when it's turned off, and that is consuming bandwidth. Is there any way I can see a list of devices that are connected to the network and maybe even the amount of data being transmitted to/from each so I can find the culprit. when I play online, it says that my NAT settings are not open and that this makes it take longer to connect to other players. What are the risks involved in loosening the NAT restrictions?

The WRT400N connected to my network via an Ethernet port in my kitchen. The cable ran down to a corner of my basement connecting to Verizon router that brings in our Internet, TV etc.

The Verizon router's poor location was a problem, and placing the WRT400N in the kitchen worked perfectly, providing excellent network access and Internet to wireless devices throughout my home. It worked fine for over a year.

Recently, we had a power outage which reset the WRT400N to factory settings. and I am having trouble getting it to work again. I set it up in the first place, but am now having difficulties. Clearly, I am no guru!

I tried to get it going again by: 1) plugging the WRT400N into a PC and giving it a new IP address that would not conflict with the Verizon router (both default to 192.168.1.1)  2) turning off DHCP, 3) renaming the router, 4) changing the router password, 5) setting up a WPA2 security key.

I then plugged the WRT400N back into the kitchen Ethernet port, but something is wrong. Wireless devices cannot find the WRT400N.

The good news is that I can "see" the WRT400N through any PC on the network via a browser and access setup, but the bad news is that devices cannot see or connect to the wireless signal.

When I go to "Status" it shows the IP address, subnet address and default gateway all at 0.0.0.0. On the SETUP page, it has the correct router address (192.168.1.9), and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. Not sure if it is supposed to be this way...Â
I am trying to improve the coverage of my home network.I have Fios, and with the existing Wireless capabilities, there are several dead and low coverage areas in my house. This is due to a combination of where my router is (Limited by input feed) and the confuration of the house.

I have CAT-5 running to most rooms, so adding wired devices is not an issue. I went out and picked up an EA4500 router, and my plan was to convert my Fios Router to a bridge and use the EA4500 as the DHCP server. However, even with this router, my coverage is not improved. My preferred solution will be to get 1 or 2 additional access points that I can plug into my wired network, however, I would want to have a common SSID for the entire network.
After upgrading two laptops to windows 8, they will no longer appear as a connected device under the "device list." They both access the router via wifi and wired, but neither appear in the device list any longer. I've rebooted the router twice, as well as both computers, disabled/re-enabled their wifi connections, but no effect.Every other non-Windows 8 device still appears normally under the device list.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently change routers to a Linksys E3000 wireless router from a Uverese 2wire residential gateway and all worked well for a short time nothing changed however when I go to view network devices from Win7,Vista or XP computers the network devices are no longer there. when I shut down and reboot the router and switches I still cannot see these devices, however when I hook up my old 2wire router I see my devices again. Even when I reconnect to the E3000 all the devices can be viewed for a few hours. Changing routers resets something but maybe overloads the linksys E3000 after a few hours? maybe this E3000 is just defective?
When I view a network map in Network & Internet all the devices appear in the map The configuration is Linksys E3000 router with two (2) 8 port Trendnet gigabyte switches and One (1) 8 port Trendnet Poe 10/100 switch. They are chained router to 8 port gig to 8 port gig to 8 port Poe 10/100. Prior to this I had the router to each switch separately - - this does not seem to matter works the same either way

ISP uses PPPoE, Im sure that the username and password are correct. upgraded to the latest firmware manually, and holy hell accessing the router with no internet access.
I have an EA4500 wireless router. Would like to allow guest access to the internet without requiring a password. Is this possible, and if so, how? I know how to set the guest password, but it won't let me set it to be blank.

It works for about a day, then stops.Guests can access the login screen and enter the password. Then nothing happens. The screen appears to "load", but it does not connect.I have tried returning to default settings and reconfiguring and reupdating firmware. I have tried turning Guest Access on and off, as well as resetting the password.The only that works is rebooting the router. This is obviously not practical, especially for a contract client.

I thought that the problem could be with Comcast, but I tested my Mac with a cable directly connected into the cable modem and it worked fine. I was able to access every site.

It seems something strange with the router. I tested some forum solutions (MUT, QoS) but they didn't work.
I upgraded from a E2000 to a EA4500 today and I am experiencing slow wired WAN speeds. On my E2000 I get approximately 60Mbps down and approximately 2Mbps up, and when switching over to the EA4500, I can only manage about 20Mbps down and about 2Mbps up. I can switch back and forth between routers and replicate the results every time
