Linksys Wireless Router :: EA4500 Don't Allow To Access A Specific Website?
May 18, 2012
I just bought the new EA4500 router and I'm experiencing problems to access the my bank website [URL] I can't access this website.
Â
I thought that the problem could be with Comcast, but I tested my Mac with a cable directly connected into the cable modem and it worked fine. I was able to access every site.
Â
It could be a problem with browser security, but I even tested with different computers (Mac, PC's, Ipad, Smartphones) and none of them were able to access the [URL] wirelessly.
Â
It seems something strange with the router. I tested some forum solutions (MUT, QoS) but they didn't work.
I was having a problem viewing the {Url } but it has worked for the past year. I just purchased a new router E4200 and thought that would reserve the issue. When I first installed it I could get on the site and then about 10 minutes later when I restarted my MacBook I could no longer get on the site. I can't get on it on my MacBook, or iPad but I can when I'm on 3G on my phone.
I have a Linksys E3000 and everything is working fine...until one day this last week.  A website I go to all the time stopped working.  The website is Martini in the Morning, url....  It's a great internet radio station.  I listen to the station via other resources, but I can't get to the website which has lots of features I use.The specifics are that from any of the computers connected to our network, I can't reach the site.  When I plug a computer directly into the Comcast modem, I can reach the site.  I have changed nothing that I am conscious of and everything was working until Monday of this last week.I thought it wasn't making it out of the router, but a TRACERT shows that I am.  I have a desktop running Vista, 2 laptops running XP Pro, an iPad and none of them can connect to that site.  My iPhone can't connect when it's on the network, but when it's on 3G, it can. [code]
I am trying to access [URL] with a Linksys E3000 router. A few days ago it was working fine, and between then and now I made no changes to my network, it just stopped working one day, I assumed the website was down but it turns out that I am able to access the website fine on other networks or via proxies. I also hooked up my computer directly to my modem and I was able to connect to the website fine, but when I try my wired connection to the router I am unable to connect, I have tried Google DNS without success. I know this is a problem with my router, not my modem or computer or ISP.
How to block a specific website with a specific time (office hours) for example "facebook" I want to block facebook within 8AM - 12Noon then 12-1 they can access the website, then 1-4 block again the website .
So I have a really strange problem where I cannot access my credit union's website at all through any computer in my house. I've tried on 3 different laptops both Mac and PC, along with PC desktop and my iPhone. What's weird is that I can access the website on my iPhone if I turn off wifi and use 3G - no problems. But once I'm on the wireless network again it just loads for 20-30 seconds before saying it can't connect to the server. The URL is which I also checked on down for everyone or just me - the results came back immediately saying it's just me!t this point I literally have no idea what to do... tried resetting the router, logging into the admin via 192.168.1.1 and couldn't find any firewalls or blocked URLs. I'm fairly knowledgeable with computers and OS' but networking I'm no savant.
I was working for our church edit some of its website files. Now I can't even see the website. We've tried on all 3 laptops in the house. We've bounced the router, rebooted all 3 laptops and nothing happens. The message we get is "Server not found, Firefox can't find the server at www.westpinesbaptist.com."The server IS up and running - other church members can not only see, but navigate through the website, including the most recent changes that were made. (Minor things, like formatting, spelling, wording etc.
I have an EA4500. I am trying to block a specific site based on keywords in the webpage address. how to get the EA4500 to block sites with based on keywords.
I am experiencing loss of internet access when browsing to amazon.com.  In addition to losing internet access, I am unable to connect to my BEFSR81 router when this happens.  To resolve I have to walk over to my router and reset it by cycling the power.  This issue has been reported by other users of the BEFSR81 too: URL  Details: My BEFSR81 is version 3.0 and is running firmware version 2.51.4
I've gone through a variety of diagnostics and I honestly don't know what to think. It's not my computer, as I can access the site on this computer on a different network. It's likely not the whole of my LAN network either, because my kindle can access the site through it. I can always access it on this computer with a proxy as well. I can ping it fine, and tracert it equally as well.I've tried everything from socket fixes, DNS flushes, getting new WAN IP addresses. When I got a new WAN IP address the first time the site was accessible once, and then it stopped again after that. I can't clone the MAC address from the router, because it doesn't allow it.
For some reason, there is a specific website that I cannot access. I am a member of the website and they have a community forum for contacting them and requesting support, but obviously I cannot contact them if I cannot access their site!
The website is [URL]. I read in another post that I should do the TRACERT command and post the results so I am doing that here.
Ever since last night ive not been able to get onto a site that i use every single day. I can get on the site through my 3g on my phone and ive tried it round my friends house and it works perfectly.Tried releasing and renewing my IP Address, no effect and have just ran a Tracert:

I can access it at work and on other ISP's but not on my home wireless network. It won't work from any device on this network. I have reset my modem but that didn't work. It won't load and when I ping from command prompt, I get a 'Request Timed Out" message.
I got a refurbished E2000 on Amazon. Last night I set it up and when I tried accessing this website [URL], I could not connect to the server. First I thought it's the server problem and let it go. This morning it's the same probelm. I called my local cable technician and he told me it's the wifi router is blocking the website. I called the CISCO guys and they refused as it was out of warranty.
I can't access a particular website with my Linksys WRT54g router in line, but can do so if I hook my mac directly to the ISP's modem. I have checked the firmware of the router and it is up to date. This is happening with only one website. It happens on multiple browsers. Using an imac with OSX 10.8.
I have comcast cable and a Linksys E3000 that has been pretty reliable. Â I have a website that I use to send some information to. Â Friday morning was the last time I could connect to this page. Â I cannot hit it via web, ssh, or ftp or ping. Â I can view it at work and on my 3g internet. Â But no more from home. Â I have determined that it has to be the router (straight connection into cable modem and I'm in). Â I've reboot the router and even restored to factory spec, neither works.
I recently purchased an EA4500 Cisco Wireless Router. I installed the software from the setup CD, however I cannot access the internet. All my devices (Iphone, etc) can access the router but the router cannot access the internet. Mac OS X 10.6.8
Got a new EA4500 for Xmas. After setting up the new router I could only access you tube and Google at a very slow speed, however I can not access any other website - Facebook, yahoo and etc... it would ping yahoo and Google no problem friend told me to do a tracer to some ip address and his conclusion was the router is fully functional  ISP uses PPPoE, Im sure that the username and password are correct. upgraded to the latest firmware manually, and holy hell accessing the router with no internet access.
With M10, I cannot restrict internet access for specific time period. Parent Control feature doesn't satisfy the situation, and there is no build-in access-policy in web-based setup. Are you going to upgrade firmware or Cisco Connect with more flexible access time control?
Within the Internet Access Policy section of the browser based utility, is it possible to limit access for a specific device (PC) to LAN only (not allow any traffic to external internet)? Â I see that you can block internet access for a specific machine, however I didn't know if this was inclusive of LAN as well.If not, is there another way to achieve this via the E3000 or should I be looking for a solution on the specific PC itself?Â
I have an EA4500 wireless router. Would like to allow guest access to the internet without requiring a password. Is this possible, and if so, how? I know how to set the guest password, but it won't let me set it to be blank.
My EA4500 has the newest firmware and is properly configured to support 20+ wireless and wired devices. It does this job well.Guest Access, however, is a problem. It works for about a day, then stops.Guests can access the login screen and enter the password. Then nothing happens. The screen appears to "load", but it does not connect.I have tried returning to default settings and reconfiguring and reupdating firmware. I have tried turning Guest Access on and off, as well as resetting the password. The only that works is rebooting the router. This is obviously not practical, especially for a contract client.
I purchased Linksys EA4500 and after I connected to my yahoo mail web address does not work ...The router only blocks access to some websites including [URL], and [URL] configuring the router -Â connection without the router works perfectly?
I have had my router for about a month and all the wireless lan stuff seems to be brilliant. Recently I signed up to an ISP (Plusnet), and can't access most websites. The ISP has told me that I should take this up with my Router company. I seem to be having the exact same problems as this guy was having [url]....
I upgraded from a E2000 to a EA4500 today and I am experiencing slow wired WAN speeds. On my E2000 I get approximately 60Mbps down and approximately 2Mbps up, and when switching over to the EA4500, I can only manage about 20Mbps down and about 2Mbps up. I can switch back and forth between routers and replicate the results every time
I have a 500 GB HD connected to the router to the usb port and It bothers me that whenever electricity fails in our city and it comes back I can still navigate and access my files on the LAN from the hard drive, but I lose the connection to the router management either by my smart phone application or by accesing trought my laptop. The only way I have figured out to solve this is connecting the drive directly to my laptop and erasing the configuration files created by the router when you set the shared folders, etc. then plugging again and setting all shared folders etc.
I am looking to extend the range in my house by replacing my E200 with an EA4500 (N900) and using the E200 as a wireless access point. Â My question is, will it work even though I will have two switches between the two routers? Â Second, will I be able to use all of the functionality of the new EA4500? Â Specifically I want to hook up two cameras in the house? Â Setup: Cable Modem --> EA4500 --> Switch (1GB) --> (1(GM) --> E200
Just got my Linksys EA4500 router today. The only confusing thing, not not well explained by Linksys . Is the USB storage set up.One thing (very important) Linksys has failed to explain how to gain access to the USB storage once connected to the router. Once the USB storage drive it set up. Or at least I think it's set up. Nothing shows up on my network page. So how am I to get access to the drive? If it don't show up?I need to know how to gain access to the USB storage drive that is connected to the Linksys router.
This is how I think it is to be set up. Again the instructions are not all that clear how to set up. And where is this widget on the homepage to be located? Â
Do you plan to support L2TP protocols Dual access.and / or the ability to enter static ip address (as in pptp) to connect l2tp.in Russia in the past few years, dominated by the type of connection L2TP Dual access, ie provider gives the internal ip address (static), and address of the VPN DNS server. to access the Internet using a protocol l2tp.as the network provider has the internal resources, which can be accessed if the router supports dual atstsess.of the protocol pptp providers moving away.
