Linksys Wireless Router :: EA4500 - Block Specific Site Based On Keywords In Webpage Address?
Apr 2, 2013
I have an EA4500. I am trying to block a specific site based on keywords in the webpage address. how to get the EA4500 to block sites with based on keywords.
I have a WAG160Nv2 and I want to block specific external ip addresses from trying to get at our server that uses the WAG160Nv2 as an internet gateway. It's not immediately obvious if this can be done from looking through the config pages.
I just bought the new EA4500 router and I'm experiencing problems to access the my bank website [URL] I can't access this website.
I thought that the problem could be with Comcast, but I tested my Mac with a cable directly connected into the cable modem and it worked fine. I was able to access every site.
It could be a problem with browser security, but I even tested with different computers (Mac, PC's, Ipad, Smartphones) and none of them were able to access the [URL] wirelessly.
It seems something strange with the router. I tested some forum solutions (MUT, QoS) but they didn't work.
1)is there any methods to let LMS 4.2 discover Cisco devices based on specific ip like Loopback address ? coz in my Cisco devices i have more than ip address configured?
How to block a specific website with a specific time (office hours) for example "facebook" I want to block facebook within 8AM - 12Noon then 12-1 they can access the website, then 1-4 block again the website .
I was wondering if it was possible to block imessage to specific clients on the EA6500.These are the ips apple uses for imessage I need to create a firewall rule that blocks these ips from reaching a specific client on the network.
currently using Linksys Cisco E2000 ,Firmware 1.0.04.Trying to few block sites from Access restriction - bellow is the screen shot its not working. I have alos enabled SPI Firewall from Security Tab. how could I block site successfully.
I am curious as what the packet size should be set . is the bigger size == lower speed smaller == faster or just leave automatic setting for packet size?
if the firewall rules in the RVL200 work for inter LAN routing as well as LAN<->WAN? I need 2 separate networks in a house, 1 for business 1 for family, and I want to only allow my IP on network 1 (family net,10.0.0.0/24) access to network 2 (business net 10.0.1.0/24). I want this as if I change rooms were a access point for business is not available I can use the home net and specific IP to access certain business net IPs. I saw you can turn inter vlan routing on or off, but it wasn't clear on firewall rules.know of a similar router in cost but with gige instead of 100Mb ports?
I've been keeping an eye on my IPS report tab lately and have been watching a large number of ICMP_SMURF and DOS attacks originating from chinese ip address's. I know I can probably block the offending ip's through the ip based acl tab in the firewall settings, but I'm kind of a newbie how I can block certain ip's from touching my router?
On my EA4500 i've given my Sony Google TV Box (connected by wifi N) a static ip address under "DHCP Reservations". However is there any way to add a DNS server address to this reserved IP so that only the Google Box is affected by the DNS, all the other connected devices remain unaffected? Presently i enter the required DNS address in the google box but i would prefer to do it on the EA4500. I'm using the latest Cisco Cloud fw on my router.
I have bought EA4500 router recently in preparations for the Singapore fibre broadband upgrade.
But for the time being I'm using it to connect to my current Linksys WAG200G ADSL Wireless Gateway.
Here's the issue I'm currently facing. I have set my EA4500 router default IP address to 192.168.1.10 to aviod conflicts with my gateway which is using 192.168.1.1. But everytime when I connect my router to the gateway, the router's default IP address changes to 10.179.159.126 or some other random IP address by itself whenever I try to change to back. However, I'm still able to surf the internet and stuffs with that current settings.
Is there something that I could do to prevent the IP address from changing by itself? And will the same thing happen again when I upgrade to fibre broadband?
I have noticed that after the new Firmware Update, the EA4500 will not change to a new public address. I have check my logs and my IP Address is the same going back to a 03/25/2012. I changed my router back to my old E4200V1 and it changes to a new addresses when the old one expires.
My router,EA4500 is blocking just one I.P address,(a game server), and I am unable to connect to the server. I have tried this on 2 different computers, reinstalled the Cisco Connect software, reset to factory defaults and it is still blocking me from getting on this server. When I by pass the router and plug directly into my modem the Server shows up fine and I am able to get on but when I put the Router back it blocks it and does not show up at all.
I have a virtual machine running in my desktop which connected on the gigabit lan port on EA4500 with firmware 2.0.37.What I want to be able to do forward a port that came from an external ipv4 address to the ipv6 address and a different port to my virtual machine (to remote desktop port 3389).The reason I want to convert the traffic to ipv6 is because virtual machine is running vpn and is not reacheable through ipv4 (unless bunch of routes are setup and things get complicated etc). I verified my phsical server and virtual server get both ipv6 ip addresses through ipv6 tunnel from comcast. Without tunneling I could not get ipv6 setup using automatic mode with comcast, it simply did not work for some reason.
I have been looking into this router, I would like to know if I can enable Parental controls or access restrictions to block a MAC or IP address; from 03:00 AM - 06:00 AM ?Instead of Midnight to 6:00 am.My E4200 works just fine, Just would like to know if the EA6500 Can do that ?
what would be the easiest way of blocking a mac address from LAN not wireless, the router is Linksys E2000 and the reason isnt important, just that i want to do it, i have full access to router
I am thinking about purchesing this router. But I need know if this router has DHCP reservation function. If router can assign to specific MACs their own IP adress. I had WRT160N for a week, but my ISP change technology. WRT160N had this function, but I am reading here, that WAG160N not.
I dont mean a website like facebook.com, but i want it to block an individual page, such as a profile page, yet still be able to access the rest of the site? Again i'm not after facebook settings etc, but i want to restrict access to certain webpages within Lan.
We are working on a new site which is hosted on Rackspace. http:[url]....For some inexplicable reason we have intermittent connection problems when trying to access this site and the wordpress backend. We're able to access it for an hour or two and then it becomes unavailable and this can be for an hour or more. During those time we get an "Error 101"Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset. This problem is almost certainly unique to our location / ADSL connection.
We've had people at other locations check at the same time as we cannot access the site, and at that same time they can. We've also checked out the site using the 3G network and it's accessible when we're having problems from our ADSL connection. We have tried using fixed DNS addresses (Telecom's, then Google's and then Open DNS) We have binned the Dynalink RTA1025W ADSL Modem thinking it was an issue with the modem. We tried the standard Thomson Telecom Modem but that caused even more problems (binned that one too.)
We have now installed a new Linksys WAG160N but we have the same issue (but a prettier modem)Discussions with Telecom Support have been fruitlessWe connect (in case it's not already obvious) via Telecom ADSL network. I'm based in Manly, Auckland NZ. Our connection is otherwise fine although we have noticed on some of our devices recently that Facebook and Google.co.nz are unavailable for a short time. Often coming right within 30 seconds or so. This may be related. The domain name Travelcafe.co is registered with GoDaddy. I'm about to move it to Rackspace as well. (Rackspace think not, but I'll do it anyway to keep things clean.)
The problem I am having is very strange and I have tried to upgrade the IOS on the 1841 to solve the problem but no luck. The issue is when I enable Zone Based firewall security on of the 1841 routers two VPN site-to-site tunnels stops working. If I turn off CEF (no ip cef) then the traffic for both tunnels works. Someone told me that the Zone Based firewall must have a match for the VPN traffic and I created that with ACL 160 and 161 but it did not solve the problem.
Current IOS is below.

all the other sites runs perfectly but i cant access google sites such as [URL] i can access to youtube but can't sign in, it says the webpage is not available..
I use a router RV082 with load balancing. My problem is when I try to access a specific site, I get the error message that my IP address changes and I can not use 2 ip address. I want to specify an ip range to always use the same WAN port.
I'm working on creating an open wireless scheme and we are simply going to use WPA with a key. What I'm getting a little stuck on is preventing access, by the guests that will connect to the WAPs, to the gateway/management webpage. I've been looking into seperating with VLANs and trunks (internal with management access and external for guests) but having a hard time with the configuration scheme.
Not sure if there is an easy way to just block that in the config or what.
I try to access my router web page with a correct address (192.168.1.1) but on my computer i have this message {Network Error (tcp_error)} but i can access this page from another computer through the network (WHY)
On my cisco IOS 12.4 router,Can i make it so only lets say mac address 11:22:33:44:55:66 able to use ip address 10.10.10.2?I want this so that only this IP can configure servers, and so if the computer using it is turned off, any other device cannot use the IP address.
I have a Belkin N750 router which I purchased because the box said it had filtering options. I didn't realize that the filtering was only sites that Norton kept track of. There are certain adware sites I know about that I would like to filter. Possible with this router?
