Apr 20, 2013open specific ports on 1941w Integrated Services Router.This specific router is a wireless VPN router that has a wired module and a wireless module and VPN so I'm getting 3 subnets on my network - 192.168.1.. for the wired connections, 10.100.1.... for wireless LAN connections and 10.100.2... for VPN remote connections.I know that by default all connected computers can access my Linux server data through telnet so the telnet port is open by default, the problem is that I have some other software licensing system on my Linux box that needs to be accessed through port 27000 and most of my users are using wireless connections and can't access that license because post 27000 is closed.what is the comand to open this post or any other port that I need to be open on the wired module, wireless module and VPN or at least poit me to somewhere where I can find all the commands that I can use for this router?

But this is not secure as is..Do I then restrict and permit access using access-list? Or is there another way altogether?

A few months ago random websites started becoming completely inaccessible to my internet connection, no matter how often i would try. The most recent one to have happened allowed me to connect just yesterday, but today i cannot connect to the website from this connection. I was able to connect to the website when i used the computer at a friend's house.

The main servers are in a datacenter located in downtown.Each branch has a RV042 router with firmware version 1.3.12.19-tm (Feb 13 2009 13:03:21) installed.All users in this network have a proxy configuration pointing to proxy.[blah].com.br port 3128.the HTTP/HTTPS traffic should go through proxy only. [code] Some "smart" users were caught using Ultrasurf application, which changes the proxy settings to go through port 9666 or even 443.In other machines, we've found some black proxies [for example: 212.46.27.142 port 8080].
My objective:
- To close all ports in Firewall -> Access Rules section and grant permission only to some selected and specified ports.
- To redirect all HTTP/HTTPS connections to go to proxy's IP address only.
Which Access Rules can I set in these RV042s in order to block and prevent these users to continue abusing this network?The users who were caught using Ultrasurf were fired.

Jan 5, 2012We are working on a new site which is hosted on Rackspace. http:[url]....For some inexplicable reason we have intermittent connection problems when trying to access this site and the wordpress backend. We're able to access it for an hour or two and then it becomes unavailable and this can be for an hour or more. During those time we get an "Error 101"Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset.This problem is almost certainly unique to our location / ADSL connection.
We've had people at other locations check at the same time as we cannot access the site, and at that same time they can. We've also checked out the site using the 3G network and it's accessible when we're having problems from our ADSL connection.We have tried using fixed DNS addresses (Telecom's, then Google's and then Open DNS) We have binned the Dynalink RTA1025W ADSL Modem thinking it was an issue with the modem. We tried the standard Thomson Telecom Modem but that caused even more problems (binned that one too.)
We have now installed a new Linksys WAG160N but we have the same issue (but a prettier modem)Discussions with Telecom Support have been fruitlessWe connect (in case it's not already obvious) via Telecom ADSL network. I'm based in Manly, Auckland NZ. Our connection is otherwise fine although we have noticed on some of our devices recently that Facebook and Google.co.nz are unavailable for a short time. Often coming right within 30 seconds or so. This may be related.The domain name Travelcafe.co is registered with GoDaddy. I'm about to move it to Rackspace as well. (Rackspace think not, but I'll do it anyway to keep things clean.)

Jul 1, 2012Is it possible to enable an absolute value rate limit using QOS on a HP ProCurve 5406 switch for a particular IP range on a specific port? Is there a way to configure our HP 5406 with an absolute rate limit on "WAN" port for that server's IP range? I would like to limit it to only being capable of sending 1Mbps worth of traffic over the head end at once.Everything in the documentation points towards priority queues, which as far as I can tell, isn't really what I want.Baring accomplishing this goal using rate limiting is there a better way to prevent our services from accidentally saturating this connection?i thimkong about somthing like that:

The IKE Proposal field has a number of possible options including: pre-share-aes-256-md5, pre-share-3des-md5, pre-share-aes-256-sha, pre-share-aes-192-sha, pre-share-3des-md5, pre-share-aes-sha and pre-share-3des-sha.
I am able to pick a specific IPSec Proposal w/o issue but when I attempt to do the same for the IKE Proposal, and click OK the choice does not "stick" but rather returns to the entire list as defined above.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRVS4400N Site To Site VPN Drops After Time?
Mar 6, 2008I have a new WRVS4400N configured with a site to site VPN to connect to my office. At the office, we're running a Cisco PIX 515E. I have successfully established an IKE preshared key and the tunnel is listed as Up. I can successfully connect through the VPN tunnel into the office network through the tunnel and all seems good. After some period of time, the tunnel apparently goes into a bad state. Access to the office network is no longer available. When looking at the VPN status screen, the Linksys indicates that the tunnel is up. However, I cannot ping any resources on the office lan. If I disconnect and connect the site to site VPN tunnel, it connects and comes back up successfully. It seems like there is some sort of timeout taking place here. I am running the 1.1.03 firmware.

They told us we have to NAT all inside address' to a single address (192.168.89.1) as this is the only one they will let through their firewall/tunnel.I know how to set up the VPN but not too sure how to set up the NAT part.
My sanatized config is attached. The code I am using to NAT my inside network to the single address 192.168.89.1, and send all traffic accross the VPN tunnel as this address is correct? With the router running this config the VPN tunnel does not connect.
Cisco Routers :: Site To Site VPN Tunnels From A RV042G Router?
Dec 15, 2012I have an issue with 2 site to site VPN tunnels from a RV042G router. The issue is for both VPN tunnels is that in the logs, it is showing that when the RV042G router is trying to establish the tunnel, it is getting a response from the remote gateway internal address and not the Public address of the remote gateways. On the remote gateways I have other site to site VPN's terminating fine and the tunnels are passing traffic. I only have an issue with the RV042. On the VPN Tunnel page it shows for both tunnels waiting for connection. This is an output from the log of the RV042G

I'm able to ping from Site B (192.168.2.xxx) to Site A, however I can't communicate from Site A back to Site B.how I could go about troubleshooting this? I've been scouring the internet for 3 days trying to get to the bottom of this with no luck.

Jan 13, 2012I have recently bought two CISCO routers RV220W for our main and brach office mainly for VPN tunneling. I didnt know they are routers only not modems. so I have set it up using BT 2wire Router as modem only.
I have successfuly setup the routers and manage to establish the VPN tunneling between two routers. AS bt doesnt give static WAN IP address so I have used Dyndns which works fine. although I have 5 static ip address which cannot be used for WAN unless i cahnge to one IP address even then BT tech said it will not work.
when I created the tunnel i could ping both servers with their IP only not with the names. I can ping them fine locally. I could also see the network from branch office to main office but not from main office to branch office. today when I restarted the server I cannot ping both server i mean vice versa but VPN tunnel is established. now I cannot see the network from branch office to main office as well.
Both sites running windows server 2008 standard. main office server has 6 NIC cards two wwith public and three with private ip addresses, its also runing Terminal server, exchange, file etc. the branch office has two NIC card one with private and one with public ip. Intially I could establish the VPN tunnel as the network range was same on both sites so I changed one in th e10.0.0.0 range other in 192.168.1.0 range and VPN tunnel was established straightaway.
As soon as the VPN tunnel was created I manage to creat an external trust without any problems and both servers are added in each other forward zones as name servers.
in the main office the fues went off and I had to re-start the router and now the VPN tunnel is not establishing, mainly the error is ISAKMP-SA Expired I will paste the log of both routers below
1. How to Clear Old or Existing Security Associations (Tunnels) on RV220W
2. how to fix the problem where I can ping the server with their IP as well as domain names ?
3. how to set it up so that both sides can see the network resources as well as access it ?
4. how to set it up so if the staff in branch office wants to log on the domain in main office he can simply do it as he does it in his office.
