I have a Cisco 2911 router and a Cisco RV 120W router and i would like to establish a VPN tunnel between theese two. I have defined the settings on the Cisco RV 120W router and i just want the Cisco 2911 to follow those. setting up a connection with Cisco IOS.

Because in HQ LAN network I have some development servers, to which guys from branch office need to have acces, I decided to setup VPN site-to-site between HQ and branch office. Everything went quite smoothly, on both devices I see, that ipsec connection is established. Unfortunately I am not able to ping resources from one network to other one and vice versa. Below is the configuration of 2911 router (I skipped som unimportant (imho) configuration directives) :

The scenario where a Site to Site VPN tunnel has been established between Site A and Site B. Lan on Site A can ping Lan on Site B. My problem is a Printer behind Site B needs to be accessed by using the WAN IP address of Site A. Also i could not ping the remote lan or printer from the router.

I have a remote office with a dual WAN router (2911) in front of an ASA (5510). Our main office currently has an ipsec site to site vpn to that remote office ASA. The router has two ISPs. ISP-A is the wan link used for the site to site and has provided us with a /28 public address space which we use on the ASA outside interface for the site to site. Now we are in the process of getting a second ISP which will also provide a /28 or /29 public address space. I would like to use that second ISP for backing up the site to site in case ISP-A link goes down. I think I have the IP SLA config worked out. My question involves NAT. On the router I would like to configure a static nat that only takes place if ISP-A goes down. In other words, if everything is working fine, then the router does not nat the ASA outside address, but if the ISP-A link goes down, then the router will NAT the ASA outside address to one of ISP-B provided public addresses.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWe already have IPSEC VPN connectivity established between sites but would like to introduce some resilience/redundancy at a remote site.
Site A has an ASA with one internet circuit.
Site B has a Cisco 2911 with one internet circuit and we have established site-to-site IPSEC VPN connectivity between the 2911 and the ASA.
Prior to getting the new internet circuit, Site B had a Cisco 877 with an ADSL line which are still available but aren’t currently in use.
The internet circuit at Site B has dropped a few times recently so we would like to make use of the ADSL circuit (and potentially the 877 router too) as a backup.
We thought about running HSRP between the 877 and 2911 routers at Site B and, in the event of a failure of the router or internet circuit, traffic would failover to the 877 and ADSL.
However, how would Site A detect the failure? Can we simply rely on Dead Peer Detection and list the public IP address of the internet circuit at Site B first with the public IP address used on the ADSL line second in the list on the ASA? What would happen in a failover scenario and, just as important, when service was restored – I’m not sure DPD would handle that aspect correctly?
I’ve read briefly elsewhere that GRE might be best to use in this scenario – but I can’t use GRE on the ASA. I have an L3 switch behind the ASA which I may be able to make use of? But I don’t want to disrupt the existing IPSEC VPN connectivity already established between the ASA and the 2911. Can I keep IPSEC between the ASA and 2911 but then run GRE between the L3 switch and the 2911? If so, how would this best be achieved? And how could I also introduce the 877 and ADSL line into things to achieve the neccessary redundancy?

I have a Cisco 2911 router configured with a couple of VPN tunnels . The issue that I am having is that I cannot access the servers (WEB,EMIL) thru the tunnel . After looking around found out that adding a route-map to my static NAT rule will fix the issue . Once I do that I am able to access the serves thru the VPN but my local machines lose internet access .So I have to delete the access list The issue seems to be with the Access list 110 permit ip [code]
View 5 Replies View Related[code] Site-to-site VPNs in place between Site A and Site B and between each site to the DC. Site A and Site B have Cisco 2911 routers, there are ASA’s at the DC. The existing Site-to-site VPNs carry data and voice traffic between the sites (though voice and data is on separate VLANs in separate subnets)
ISP1 currently used for the existing circuits at Sites A and B but we have experienced issues with them recently which has disrupted service. So new circuits are to be installed at each site with ISP2. (See basic diagram attached which shows current set-up with intention to get new circuits via ISP2 installed)
We have 3 ports on our Cisco 2911 routers with 2 ports already in use for the existing connections (1 for the LAN and 1 for the WAN connection to ISP1) Can we simply use the 3rd port for the connection to ISP2 or would it be far more advisable to use a 2nd router (for redundancy, etc)
Would it be feasible to have a set-up where we have e.g. voice traffic go over a site-to-site VPN via ISP1 and data traffic go via site-to-site VPN via ISP2 but each can take over from the other in the event of a failure?

In NCS, under "System/Mobility Groups" for each controller, I see each controller listed as "local" with the other Controllers listed with the group name "wlcMain-MG". None of the SSIDs are "anchored".
I have a new site with a 2500 series WLC that I would like to push out 2 SSIDs. This site contains two customers. One customer is the Main customer with the second customer leasing space.
I have the Cust2 WLAN at the remote site set to have traffic egress out of a local interface on the 2500 WLC (this traffic is then tunnelled back to their Main location via an ASA which houses the DHCP scope for that vlan). I can connect to this SSID, obtain an IP Address off the ASA and am tunnelling without issue.
For the Cust1 WLAN at the remote site, I would like to broadcast an SSID from the Main location on those same APs which are registered to the 2500. It is my understanding, that I anchor the SSID at the Main site and identically configure the SSID at the remote site. This will allow the end user to authenticate to the RADIUS server at the Main site and be placed upon the correct vlan (we are using DOT1x and dynamic vlans).
For my test, I am starting simple. I have created a test WLAN with no authentication. At the main site, on 5508 WLC3, I have created the test WLAN, and placed the interface into a low security vlan (call it VLAN-low). I have anchored this test WLAN to that controller. At the remote site, I have created the same WLAN (but placed it into the management interface for now - the VLAN-low does not exist at the remote site) and configured that WLAN to anchor back to the WLC3 at the main site. I am unable to obtain an IP address from the remote site. I have placed the remote site WLC in the wlcMain-MG as well. How close does the code need to be on the controllers - the 5508s are at 7.0.116.0 and the 2500 is at 7.0.220.0? What could I be missing?
ASA is configured with the VPN site to site using the wizard, created the Public IP of contivity, local and remote LAN . I attached the configuration. In contivity have the following settings: Not able to communicate both subnets.Do I need to configure IP subnets and published in the contivity as was done in the ASA?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have a Cisco ASA 5505 at our CORP location, which I have configured the Site2Site VPN to our COLO with a Juniper SRX220h, the site to site works fine, but when users access the Cisco VPN client from home, they cant ping or SSH through the Site2Site. Contacted JTAC and they said its not on their end, so I tried to contact Cisco TAC, no support. So here I am today, after for the 3 days (including Friday last week) of searching the Internet for over 6hrs a day, and trying different examples of other users. They all connect OK but there appears to be some ports blocked.Access any applications using HTTPS Our Proxy Agent uses port 8280 - When the internal address is used, it doesn't work. When the public address is used, it works. Printers are unable to use scan to email - Port 25.I'm confident that nothing is being restricted at the remote sites as all of these functions worked on our old Head Office router.All i want to do is allow ANY traffic to and from Head Office and all the VPN sites. I am trying to set up a site to site ipsec connection. AT site A, I have Vlan's 652-10.55.216.0/24, Vlan653 -10.55.217.0/24, Vlan 654-10.55.217.0/24 and Vlan655-10.55.219.0/24 and at site B, Vlan650-10.55.214.0/24 and Vlan651-10.55.215.0/24.The problem is that I am unable to get any associations when i do a "sh crypto isakmp sa"/"sh crypto ipsec sa" on either router at each site.I am also unable to ping by pluging in a laptop into the site at each site. Laptop at site A is set to access vlan 655 and laptop at site B is set to acess vlan 651. I can ping all the devices from one end to the other.I have turned on debug crypto isakmp, debug crypto ipsec, debug crypto ipsec errors but dont get anything at all as output.I have attached the sh run for each router Cisco (1941/K9) and switch (Catalyst 3750) at each site.

With à customer we have à site to site VPN connection. In this tunnel there is one subnet routed with a 3des-sha encryption / hash. Now the want to add a new subnet in this tunnel, but with a AES-128 / MD5 encryption / hash. Is it correct if we make a new crypto map with a higher seq. number?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWe have a scenario where the Cisco ASA 5505 will be one end of a site-to-site VPN. The same ASA 5505 also allows Client VPN connection. The question is around IP pooling. If I assign a pool of IP's (192.168.1.20 - 192.168.1.30) for Client VPN connections - do I need to be sure that those same IP's are not used on the other side of site-to-site VPN ?
There could be PC's/Servers running 192.168.1.0/24 on the other side of site-to-site VPN. Would this cause an address conflict ?

We have configured a site to site tunnel from our ASA to another organizations Cisco 3030. It appears to have just one way initiation. We can do a ping to a device on the remote site and it will ping just fine. however, when the tunnel needs to be initiated from the remote site, it will not work until we have initiated the tunnel and then everything works.
I continue to see Error processing payload: Payload ID: 1 errors on the ASDM logs.It appears that all the configuration is in place because we can in fact establish the IPSec tunnel unidirectional. And once established, traffic can flow bidirectional.

I see that when I do this syntax in ASA: show crypto ipsec sa.They had a Clavister Firewall before on that site before and now they have a Cisco ASA 5505 and all the rules on the main site thats have the big Clavister Firewall is intact so the problems are in the Cisco ASA 5505. I have a situation where the site-to-site tunnel is already established using PPTP IPSec VPN with non Cisco Gateways terminating the link on each end. These non Cisco Gateways do not support L2TP tunneling, and there is no plan to change them.Beyond the Gateways on both ends, we have a Cisco 4500 series switch. We need to forward the 802.1q tagged VLANs between the two sites. Is it possible to use 802.1Q tunneling in this case, going via a PPTP tunnel ?
Cisco's setup uses dot1q-tunnel over a L2protocol-tunnel to preserve the original client VLAN tagging, so does this mean that the only option we have is to setup a L2TP tunnel at the Cisco device endpoints, and have that tunnel go through the existing PPTP tunnel (established between the 2 non Cisco VPN Gateways) ?

If Site B also has an ASA, I can configure Site A's ASA to deal with a failover at Site B (set peer 1.1.1.1 2.2.2.2). Does this work if Site B has an IOS router instead of an ASA? In other words will "set peer 1.1.1.1 2.2.2.2" on the ASA work when it's talking to IOS on the other end?

I have a site to site IPSEC tunnel already up and that has been working. I am trying to set up another site to site IPSEC tunnel to a different location that will need to be setup to access the same two subnets. I'm not sure if this can be setup or not, I think I had a problem with setting up two tunnels that were trying to connect to the same subnet but that was between the same two ASA's. Anyways the new tunnel to a new site is not coming up and I want to make sure it is not the subnet issue. The current working tunnel is between two ASA 5510's, the new tunnel we are trying to build is between the ASA and a Sonicwall firewall.
