I have noticed that after the new Firmware Update, the EA4500 will not change to a new public address. I have check my logs and my IP Address is the same going back to a 03/25/2012. I changed my router back to my old E4200V1 and it changes to a new addresses when the old one expires.
View 3 RepliesI have a EA4500 that I get error 2315 when I try to Delete,change name,or icon. I did a 30/30/30 and everything worked great,24 hours later I was back to error 2315. I tried re-flashing the firmware, but that didn't work. I get the same problems when I try using the Smart Wifi app. There are also times when I can not access the router using Smart Wifi unless I reboot the router when I get home.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an EA4500 router. It's the latest in a long line of Linksys routers I've owned and I'm pretty familiar with setting one up and making changes. But the EA4500 seems a bit more picky than previous routers. Last night I tried to enable port forwarding for ports 53, 80, and 88 for my xbox. I already had port 3074 forwarded. When I did that and applied the change, I lost all Internet connectivity. I tried cycling the power on the router with no luck. I finally got connected again by going to 192.168.1.1 and disabled those ports. The status page then said I had Internet connectivity but I really didn't at least right away. It took a couple minutes before I was actually able to to connect to the Internet again. What else should I check when it says I don't have internet connectivity?

View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my EA4500 i've given my Sony Google TV Box (connected by wifi N) a static ip address under "DHCP Reservations". However is there any way to add a DNS server address to this reserved IP so that only the Google Box is affected by the DNS, all the other connected devices remain unaffected? Presently i enter the required DNS address in the google box but i would prefer to do it on the EA4500. I'm using the latest Cisco Cloud fw on my router.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have bought EA4500 router recently in preparations for the Singapore fibre broadband upgrade.
But for the time being I'm using it to connect to my current Linksys WAG200G ADSL Wireless Gateway.
Here's the issue I'm currently facing. I have set my EA4500 router default IP address to 192.168.1.10 to aviod conflicts with my gateway which is using 192.168.1.1. But everytime when I connect my router to the gateway, the router's default IP address changes to 10.179.159.126 or some other random IP address by itself whenever I try to change to back. However, I'm still able to surf the internet and stuffs with that current settings.
Is there something that I could do to prevent the IP address from changing by itself? And will the same thing happen again when I upgrade to fibre broadband?
My router,EA4500 is blocking just one I.P address,(a game server), and I am unable to connect to the server. I have tried this on 2 different computers, reinstalled the Cisco Connect software, reset to factory defaults and it is still blocking me from getting on this server. When I by pass the router and plug directly into my modem the Server shows up fine and I am able to get on but when I put the Router back it blocks it and does not show up at all.

The new IP is not reachable from Internet nor pingable from device on the same LAN.The new IP address is in the same subnet of the old IP.
From the switch on which the ASA is connected and from another Cisco PIX we can see the ARP entry. In the analysis, on the old public IP address there was a VPN site-to-site and Webvpn defined.We tried also to shut/no shut the interface and reboot the device.
I have a virtual machine running in my desktop which connected on the gigabit lan port on EA4500 with firmware 2.0.37.What I want to be able to do forward a port that came from an external ipv4 address to the ipv6 address and a different port to my virtual machine (to remote desktop port 3389).The reason I want to convert the traffic to ipv6 is because virtual machine is running vpn and is not reacheable through ipv4 (unless bunch of routes are setup and things get complicated etc). I verified my phsical server and virtual server get both ipv6 ip addresses through ipv6 tunnel from comcast. Without tunneling I could not get ipv6 setup using automatic mode with comcast, it simply did not work for some reason.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI handle the network at a small business; it's not my primary job but one that I am in charge of. My boss owns a house next to the office that he use as a general meeting area and as a guest house for friends and family. The house is close enough to the office that our office WLAN covers most of the house.
Our office router (Cisco Linksys EA4500) supports a "guest" network, which is okay for people that pop in for meetings, but not so great for family and friends that may stay for several days or a week. The guest profile times out, and they have to reconnect. I have no way to set the timeout period for the guest profile. But mainly, there are several "dead spots" in the wifi coverage in the house.
There is an Ethernet cable running from the office to the house that is not currently being used. Optimally, I would just use the spare Ethernet cable to setup a seperate WLAN in the house. But I don't know how to do it so that the guests cannot get access to our office network.
I would like to leave the office network hardware and configuration unchanged if at all possible. I am open to purchasing something, and even flashing it with DD-WRT if needed. I just need a configuration that keeps the office network private.
I'm really bad on networking so I have a question about NAT. I got two public IP addresses from my ISP: 92.x.x.252 - 92.x.x.254. 92.x.x.254 is configured as secondary on external interface and clients will use it two connect (vpn) it from outside through cisco 1841 to zywall p1 with wan ip address 92.x.x.253. Is this configuration (look at picture) allowed? How can I route traffic from 92.x.x.254 to zywall p1, if posible?

I can connect to the internet on the Xbox, but not Xbox LIVE. I get an error message stating that my MTU setting must be 1364 or higher. So my question, I see that Cisco has the Connect Express app for the iphone, and I've read about all the features it has like changing settings, router features, etc. But I can't find anything on using the app for the initial set up of the router. WMP doesnt let me browse the folders as they actually are on the HDD which is such a pain in the **bleep**.
shows a device in "network infrastructure" but it says problem sending command to the program when i click that. i dont want to have to view the HDD in WMP as a media device...
My new EA4500 (fw ver 2.0.36) won't obtain an IP from a Brighthouse TM502G cable modem. The EA4500 replaced a functioning WRT54G which would obtain an IP from the ISP. I've tried upgrading firmware and have used both straight-through and crossover cables between the EA4500 & TM502G to no avail. The EA4500 would issue IPs to it's clients, but not obtain one from it's TM502G. At the moment, all 3 are daisy-chained together with the old WRT54G in the middle in order to make the EA4500 work. Both WiFi and LAN ports function in this configuration.

However on the 5 Ghz tab, nothing? I can see Channels 36, 40, 44, 48, 52 and so on BUT no trace of any wireless signal here?I carefully reviewed the wireless settings options and it is indeed enabled.
