View 4 RepliesMy router just updated to Firmware version: 1.0.04 build 6Operating system: Windows 7 SP 1Software version: 1.3.11006.1Now I can no longer see my network on my Bluray DVD player or other sharing devices. My file sharing worked before this update.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently bought an E3000 to replace my failed WRT54G v5. With the E3000 I can't get my shared Windows folders to be accessed from my other PCs. I called telephone support and they informed me that the E3000 doesn't support file & printer sharing. WTH? Is this true? If so, I'm going to return the E3000 and get my money back. But I never heard of a router not supporting file & printer sharing. My WRT54G handled it just fine.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThis is another E3000 "connection drops" thread. Some background: I have two E3000's that are cascaded. The main router is in my basement connected to my cable modem and is my DHCP server. The second one is on the main floor and provides my wireless signal (no DHCP, and is hard connected to the main router).I have lots of connection drops with the wireless router on the main floor. Lately I have noticed a trend, though. My connection drops mostly when I browse my network (usually browsing pictures on another computer) or when large files or videos are being transferred. If I connect a cable, I have no problems. When wireless, I have signal drops.I have tried every trick and tip that I've seen on this forum or been provided in the Linksys FAQ. I've changed the beacon interval, fragmentation threshold to 2306 and CTS to 2307, I've tried changing channels, I've checked and unchecked boxes for NAT, Filters, etc. I've tried different combinations of WPA2 passwords. I've tried dynamic routing, static routing, blah blah blah...
When I set the 5Ghz channel to Auto(DFS) it defaults to channel 36 and 144Mbps. When I use other channels, I get 300Mbps. Either way, my connections still drops.
I have the latest firmware 1.0.04 Build 6.I even have the router sitting on top of a laptop cooling pad to keep it cool.No matter what I do, as soon as I start browsing my network the wireless connection drops.I am so frustrated! I upgraded my WRT-160N to this E-300 router to get the faster speed and dual band but have had nothing but trouble. I never had a connection drop with my 160N.
EDIT: I notice that when my signal drops, I can see the power LED blinking on the router, like it's going through a reboot cycle.
I recently installed a firmware upgrade on my E3000 to firmware version 1.0.04.build 6. Since the upgrade I am unable to see any of my files on my network computer which is running windows 7. Before everything was fine and I could stream to my dvd players and dish receivers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWill this router ever see a firmware update so that we can have some additional functionality? The version of Twonky Media server that was bundled with this router was old to begin with, and now we are stuck with it? I tried the E4200 but it just kept spinning my drive that's parked in a ThermalTake BlackX, at least the 3000 doesn't do that, but when can we expect some new firmware, it's been 8 months. I used to love Linksys, but with this kind of support I may have to move to a different brand, and I bet I am not alone. it doesn't break the E3000 like you broke the 4200.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop with an Intel Centrino 6300 Ultimate-N wireless card. With the previous firmware I was able to reach 300mbps while on the 5GHz band. Since I updated my E3000 to the latest firmware (1.0.04) I can only reach speeds of 144mbps. I have done a factory reset on the router and stll get the same result. Is there any way I can get it to reach 300mbps again with the current firmware?
Also, yes I have uninstalled / updated the driver software for my wireless card. I have also changed the appropriate settings for the 5GHz band. (40MHz channel width, using WPA2 encryption)
Cisco keeps struggling with CCC firmware files.
Now the download link for E4200v2 CCC is available, but gives you an empty zip file (0 bytes). Quality Control is an unknown word at Cisco.
The file is no longer empty.
I have the latest firmware, have the settings correct (the UPnP is disabled and whatever)

Went out of town 2 weeks in March, and all through April didn't have any disconnects. Have had this problem since I got it, it gets really bad from time to time (like now). Thought it was my provider for the longest time, but found out if I connect via wired, no disconnects! Is re-flash simply downloading and installing firmware?
Upgraded my E3000 from 1.0.02 to 1.0.04 and now I cant get an ip from my arris modem. I did the 30/30/30 reset and everything but no luck. I've had to plug the modem directly into the computer for now. Where can I find the 1.0.02 download or how can I fix this?

I just upgraded to a E3000 from a WRT54G and I am having some issues with network speed.I have no special settings and have even tried restoring factory defaults and upgrading to the latest firmware to no avail. The time I notice the biggest hit is when transferring files locally on the network (WiFi and LAN).Let me note that I do know the difference between MB/s & Mb/s and the like.I have Comcast 20Mb/s Down, 1.5Mb/s Up (just a FYI, the main issue is local transfers)
With default settings my Laptop (ASUS N82JQ, Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter), connects to the router at only 65Mb/s (with full signal).Upload seems to be more decent ~600KB/s (Transferring files from wireless n laptop to the gigabit desktop).Download seems to be limited to ~150KB/s (Copying files from the wired gigabit desktop to the wireless n laptop). These speeds are horrible! ~5hrs to transfer 3GB of data!
One of my laptops had a card that was capable of both 2.4 & 5Ghz and I was previously getting ~2000-5000KB/s (2-5MB/s) transfers with this router (But I had to do a system restore on it and reset the router). My ASUS laptop seems to only work with 2.4Ghz though. If I change the 2.4Gh Wireless settings on the router to "Auto(20MHz or 40MHz)" the laptop will connect at 150Mb/s, but the speeds are the same slow speeds as above.
I have downloaded the firmware update "Ver.1.0.02 build 11" for my WRT400N from linksys.com several times. I then try to update my firmware on my router. Each time I try, I get an error message that says "Incorrect file path."

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my E3000 for almost a year now and it's been great - until recently. Latencies have become patchy for some users and most surprisingly, the 5GHz network has stopped using two channels. I did a 30/30/30 reset on it a few minutes ago and re-configured the whole thing. It's set to use 40MHz Only and WPA2 Personal, but speeds at the physical layer are still just 144 Mbps and in the web interface's Status page it clearly says "20 MHz".
Why might this be? It was fine for so long, only to refuse to use two channels now. I've checked what the other wireless networks in my area are like, and none of them are even 5GHz-capable as far as I can tell, so the relevant spectrum shouldn't be overcrowded. It's rather nice to have the two channels for NAS transfers and streaming and such.
After manually specifying a base channel (48 at the moment), it actually kicks into 40MHz. The problem is now that my clients, both using a WUSB600N, are getting "Unable to connect to (SSID)" pretty much instantly after clicking the network in Windows.
I've not been able to connect to my to Linksys E3000 when set to 5GHz "N" only Network mode. Connections to the 5GHz can only be done in mixed mode. I do not need to have A-Mode enabled, so I do not wish to use mixed.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can not access my Linksys E3000 router via https://192.168.1.1.Before this mishap, I was able to gain access to my Linksys E3000 router via http://192.168.1.1 and/or the Cisco Connect software application on Windows 7. Yesterday, I went into my router's administration page and disabled http, and enabled https. I then closed out all browsers, restarted them and entered https://192.168.1.1
After that, I learned quickly I made a huge mistake to make these changes. I simply can not access my router admin wired or wirelessly. Accessing the internet works great, but router admin page is a no go.Firefox and IE states, "There is a problem with this website's security certificate." and was unable to proceed.Firefox even gave me the option to accept a security exemption to proceed, but that failed.
I have also tried using the Cisco Connect utility, and that also failed. I have taken these steps and not been able to access my router's admin page.I don't want to take the last final resort to reset my router and re-enter my settings again. I know I saved the router's backup file somewhere, but can't find it.Is there another way for me to gain access via https with http disabled? All I want to do now is go back in and change it back to enable http access.
I just picked up an e3000 last night. Set up was performed manually. Flashed to 1.0.04. No issues and I was up in under 10 min.Although I read the user guide, prior to purchase, I admit I did not expect that I would not be able to configure ALL of the router's features and functions from the web based configuration, without using the CISCO Connect CD.Parental Controls and GUEST Access cannot be configured unless you load the Cisco Connect software. While this is not a huge deal, this implementation is clumsy and cumbersome for advanced users. Honestly, I had no disire to install the Cisco Connect software. I was further disappointed to see that it stores the router's password.
My feeling here, let's not ruin a great thing. There are two types of users. One's who need a configuration wizard, and other's who don't. I guess some inroads are being made in the right direction as some GUEST access functions can be made in the web gui on the e4200. I hope this can be further expanded to all "e" series routers in the future. Overall, it works as advertised. Streaming 720p HD video over wireless 2.4Ghz band G only is flawless. This is no different than my wrt54g2, but I'm upgrading to a 1080p player and have read that N on the 5Ghz band is the way to go.
I am unable to see my network media player (wired CAT6 or wireless) using the SAMBA Share feature. My UPNP works fine. I do not have this issue when I am using the Linksys WRT54G or a Netgear WNDR3700 (I returned it to give the E3000 a try) - so I know all my share persmissions and device firewall is turned off. How do I get it to work with the E3000? I want to be able to transfer and stream media files to my media player using SAMBA. Usually my network media player automatically detects SAMBA Servers/Devices and adds it to its list for me to access. But when I use the E3000 that is not the case.

I get an error message that says "You don't have access to //myshare. contact your administrator".
I'm not sure why I was able to create folders on this drive but am unable to move files to it. Makes no sense to me. Write permission is write permission no?My machine which currently stores the media files is windows7 utimate. The router is E3000 using up to date stock firmware.
