Home Network :: Can't Install / Extract Any File / Archive Downloaded Through Shared Connection Via LAN

I can't install or extract any file or archive downloaded through shared connection from the 1st PC via a LAN ... tried new LAN and tried switch the LANs but doesn't work always a CRC error when extract an archive or file corrupted when install anything downloaded:this is what I tried so far
-tried download and extract on a 2nd installed windows (I have dual boot) and its same CRC error
-tried another non built-in LAN card pci-E x1 and its the same CRC error
-tried restore bios to default and its same CRC error
-tried putting a laptop on the same line instead of my PC and it works no errors no problems

Let's suppose I'm connected to a network whose admin asked in a friendly way not to download anything but certain things he specified.He never came to my machine or setup any kind of client to it. The question now is, is there any chance he knows what I download???Does he know the name and the extension of the file I download if I use Utorrent and magnet links?

How can I install cache server for caching downloaded files ?
I try use Squid for it.but it's not working properly.Squid can caching downloaded files when download the file without Download Managers.(Like IDM)When I use a Download Manager , Squid can't cache the downloaded file. ( Max connections number in IDM = 16) How can I cache downloaded file , when download file with IDM and multi connection mode (max connections number = 16 or 8)

I'm having a Strange problem. When i try to Explorer files in a network location by typing \<Computer Name> it does not work, Network path not Found error appears. But i can browse files using IP Address.
1. This Happen only at this particular machine only. I can Explorer files using the Computer name from other machines.
2. nslookup shows the correct IP.
3. I can connect to the file server using Remote Desktop by typing the Computer Name.

I have setup a webserver on my home PC and I have forwarded port 80 on my router to the IP adress of the PC that is running the web server. The web server is working great; I can get to my web pages from outside of my home by going to http://MyIpAddress/Anyway, the problem is with the Windows Media Player plugin I'm using. I want to embed 6GB MPEG-2 videos into my web pages. I have some videos on my PC and I want to be able to watch them remotely by connecting into my web page. It works fine when I'm at home; other PCs can connect and play the videos no problem. The problem is when I'm at work. When I'm at work, I go to my web page (via my IP address in a web browser) and the Media Player plugin says "Connecting" for a minute, then it says Ready, but the video will not play. I tried using a smaller, AVI file (680 MB) instead to see if the problem was streaming such a large file, but the video still would not play.Do I need to foward more ports on my router so that Windows Media Player can connect back and get the information it needs?

We've just deployed a site-to-site VPN using a 5505 ASA on the client's site and a checkpoint Nokia FW on our site. Everything seems to be fine except that the user's connections to their file shares seem to be intermittently dropping. One minute the connection to the shares is there, next thing it's lost. There is no logic to it because no two users are experiencing issues at the same time, as a matter of fact even on the same PC where a user has access to 3 shares on 3 different servers, one could be showing as connected whereas the other two be dropping. [code]
As you can see the Duplex and Speed are set to auto, I've rectified this since then and I'm keeping a close eye on the output errors, and collisions. However, I'm afraid that this did not rectify the issue and the users are still experiencing intermittent connection dropping to their file shares over the VPN!

How to get rid of Username Password prompt for VPN user connecting to computer with guest access on shared folders?If a VPN user types any word in the user name and hits enter without password, it gets in and sees shared folders, but I want this prompt to be disabled.

I run a home private server on Centos 5.5 I believe. A while ago, a surge destroyed a different computer with pictures on it that my parents would like to access. The hard drive itself is just fine, and I've backed up those files on an external hard drive. What I would like to do is allow my parents to access them through Samba. Samba has already been in long time use, but it is configured to only allow access in a jail inside each user's home folder on the root hard drive. I have a suitable hard drive already formatted and mounted that can fit all the pictures that they wish to have access too. What I'd like to do, is change the path that one of my users use to the mounted hard drive.

Is it possible to shared a wireless connection over a separate network. I've recently bought a laptop with Windows 7 and would like to be able to connect to my existing home network which comprises 2 desktop PCs connected via a Dlink wireless N router which is acting as a WAP to my Billion non-wireless router (which the two desktop PCs are connected). ie the two desktops are connected via wire to the Billion. The DLink is just there to provide wireless for my laptop (and Ipod)
The first day I setup the new laptop it seemed to recognise the C drive and G drive on my desktop (which I had set to 'share'). i was able to do file transfers.
However, the next day, and since then, the C and G drives don't show up on when I click 'network' on my Laptop's Win Explorer... They did reappear once after I refreshed the Win Explorer several times, but that trick didn't work again
Internet is working fine on all computers. Just would like to be able to share files across the 3 machines...
I've experimented on the laptop with setting as 'public', 'home' and 'work' but didn't have any luck.

I have been trying to get this setup for 2 days now and so far NADA.....
Router: Linksys E3000 - below is a list of all devices connected (hardwired T568B) to the 4 ports with a laptop connected via wireless
1. Main PC - motherboard: ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z (dual GB LAN ports)
2. Media Server - motherboard: MSI Z68A-GD80 (dual GB LAN ports)
3. Test Bench AMD PC
4. WD TV Live
Currently: I have all 3 computers running Windows 7 and connected to a Homegroup. I have given the correct permissions to enable sharing of files between each of the 3 computers and can transfer files from one PC to the next w/o any issues.
Desired: I want to connect my Main PC and Media Sever with a crossover cable using the 2nd LAN port on each motherboard, so that I don't have to go through the router to transfer data to and from these 2 PCs. I will have each PC also connected to the Linksys E3000 router via the 1st LAN port on each motherboard to supply the internet connection, so I am also not trying to "share" an internet connection between these 2 PCs. Basically, I want to run my home network through the Linksys E3000 and then a 2nd network for the 2 PCs using the crossover cable.
Current Problem: I disconnected the straight-through cables from the router to each computer from the 1st LAN port. I then connected the crossover cable from the Main PC to the Media Server and setup a new Home network in the Network and Sharing Center in Windows 7. Everything worked and I could transfer data to and from each these 2 PCs, so i know I wired the crossover cable correctly. Then I reconnected the straight-through cables coming from the router to the 1st LAN ports of each mobo, thinking that each PC would auto-detect the internet connection and reacquire my existing home network, enabling an internet connection again. However, this did not happen.
[URL] I also followed this how-to guide on microsoft.com, but when I get to Step 3 where it says that an "Unidentified network icon" will aprear in the Network and Sharing Center, it does not!
From Googling, reading, and troubleshooting I believe I know 2 things:
1. All of the hardware is functioning properly - when the straight-through cables from the router are disconnected, the 2 PCs are networked through the crossover cable and files can be transferred.
2. The problem is with Windows 7 somewhere - I think?

I have ADSL modem in my workplace that is connected to a switch and other workplace computers are connected to this switch so the ADSL internet is shared in LAN network.(in each of computer I set default Gateway to ip of modem .....)I want to dial my workplace from home and then use of workplace internet or connect to workplace LAN.(such as VPN or Port Forwarding or I don't know...)

Where I can get the most recent install file for the ASDM-IDM Launcher software? I'm currenly running 1.5(41). Somebody mentioned they are at least up to 1.5(50), but he couldn't remember where the install file was. I checked Cisco's software download site, but nothing came up for the Launcher.

I have a problem with my home network (diagram attached below). I sporadically lose connection between my Router and the devices behind the switch. I have replaced the Ethernet cable between the 2 so I don't think the problem's there. It will work for a week or so, then just lose the connection. I then try a combination of rebooting all of the devices on the network and/or unplugging and re-plugging the cable connections and sometimes that works. There is a device which is connected to the PC via Lan. I have an exe file which is supposed to get connected to that device and perform some operations. However, the problem is, the exe file tries to connect to the local host ip address 127.0.0.1 and i cant change the ip since it's been coded.So, I'm wondering if i can use the device connection (which already has a different ip like 169....) as a local host connection. So whenever it tries to connect to the loopback 127... it automatically connects to the external device.

Iam joining sky in the coming week and will be receiving their free router (G Router). I am currently using (Belkin N Router) due to the distance from my computers and interferance (eg , walls, 4 floors).
I understand that I cannot use my own router with sky because they have username & password built into router. I have heard rumours that these details can be extracted.
