I'm trying to register my new linksys e2000-ew wireless router but it doesn't show up in the selection pull down menu. When I try the e2500 it says my serial# isn't correct.
View 5 RepliesI just received a new modem from my ISP acanac, the modem model is NetVito5300.When I connect the modem directly to my computer, I can access the internet, but if I connect through my wireless router, there's no wireless internet access. Wireless router model is CISCO Linksys E2000.I tried to download Cisco Connect Setup Software for PC and followed the step until one point it asked for my wireless username and password and I put them in correctly but it said my router was not successfully set up and failed. I should press the reset button and set the router to factory default mode, but I'm afraid I won't be able to set it up properly after doing so.What should I do to connect my new modem and wireless router properly so I have wireless internet access?

But this is only a comment, my concern is that I'm not able to see on main menu how many DHCP clients are connected nor of course to check their traffic. Other routers usually provide at least DHCP clients
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a linksys E3200. Today I got disconnected and when it reconnected it stated that the network was changed to just network and not my usual network name. I was having connection issues with the network disconnecting me and reconnecting me. I uninstalled the cisco connect software. I contacted support who told me to restart the router and modem, which I did. After reset I tried to reinstall the software. Cisco Connect likes to insist to do the installation wirelessly but my laptop can't find the router during installation to complete it. My router is essentially a glorified wire connecting my computer to my modem now.Â
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have a old Router and a new one(the Lynksys). The old one had problems with the Wifi so we bought this one. So when we connect This Router to the Modem it doesn't show connection to the internet. (The Setup fails because of this). But with the old one it does connect to the internet. So either my modem doesn't detect the new router or vice versa. So I am not sure why its not working since on the old one it works fine.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi am having an annoying issue with my wrt400n and my foscam FI8918W. in the dhcp reservation tab, the wrt400n doesn't show the foscam anywhere in the tab. it shows all laptops, cell phones, nases, etc. if i use the cisco connect software it does show it in the network map. i can probably add it manually via the gui. is this something normal or security cams not considered devices?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently installed some wireless IP cameras and when attempting to re-install a camera I went into the DHCP Client table to verify which IP a camera was using to set it up, but I could not...and still cannot see any of my cameras in the table even though I can access three of them directly through the IE web browser. I initially power cycled both the E4200 router and Motorola cable modem, and then later just the wireless router...but I still do not see the devices connected. I currently have 2.0.37 firmware even though I was told by Cisco support that there was a later version available, just before being informed that I do not have support available and could purchase it. I attempted to locate a newer version, but the online upgrade portion of the Cisco Connect software searched the net and then states that I have the latest version available. I also opened a Firefox browser to see if maybe my browser was causing issues, but the same limited table appears without all entries available. I even opened the Cisco Connect software on another laptop with the same limited results. Other than a factory reset, get me E4200 dual band wireless router to show all attached devices through the DHCP Client table as it previously did approximately two weeks ago?

Â i have a few websites on one of my machines, which i can access from outside my network no problem, but when i try to access it from inside the network, firefox gives the message "the connection to the server was reset while the page was loading". Â i did not have this problem with the E4200.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have configured a vlan interface on a 3750 switch. there is aprox 4Mb active traffic flowing through the interface, but when I do a "show interface vlan (vlanid)" the output show zero bits in and zero bits out. Its a typical L3 config with one IP on the vllan interface acting as the gateway for the VLAN devices. Is this a normal behaviur ? and if so is there any way to get the traffic in/out stats. The end PC/devices are connected to this switch via an L2 TRUNK and I dont have access to the L2 switch on which the actual devices connect. so cant get the real time stats of those interfaces.

The router is not showing my external hard drive in the usb settings. The Hard drive is a seagate 7200rpm 1.5tb. The hard drive works just fine when plugged into my computer. I have tried NTFS and EXFAT. My 2gb usb drive in FAT32 shows up just fine. The external has its own power supply. Is there anything I am missing that would cause it to not work?
I just purchased an E-3000 and when I log into the user interface it seems changing pages and saving settings takes forever. I click on a section in the router menu and it takes what seems like 30 seconds for the page to change or accept the new settings. It's not my browser it's definitely a Linksys Router issue. I updated to the latest firmware and latest Cisco Connect software as well. Is this slow user interface a normal thing with these routers?

Now... there are other wireless networks around me. The WI-Fi channel my router fixed to is 1, apparently - saw it from the settings. But I can't find a menu anywhere in the router's gateway (192.168.1.1) from where I can change the wireless channel, wireless bandwidth etc.
I am working with a WRT320N for some weeks now, but I don't get the fact that 40Mhz channel width is only allowed for Automatic channel selection.I keep losing connection and the channel keeps changing.I want an option to change the channel manually (like in every good WLAN router!!), also with N data rate (40Mhz channel width).I know how to select the best channel, so why aren't I able to change it the way I like it?

Unfortunely the "Access Restrictions" menu is missing in the admin GUI; I 've got all the others : "Set -up", "Wireless", "Security", Storage, Applications and Gaming, Administration and Status. I've checked the Firmware already and i'm using the very last one available on the cisco web site. I also noticed that I do not have the "Linksys by Cisco" text on the upper left corner as one can read on user guide but just "Cisco".

I'm pretty clueless when it comes to networking.Without changing any of the settings, the other day my Macbook Pro couldn't connect and it kept saying 'Connection timeout'. From that point my iPhone also refused to connect, although accessing the internet on my MBP via Ethernet was fine.

I did a hard reset following instructions from this forum then re-configured with the installation CD. The wireless LED on the router was lit but my MBP couldn't see the network. Eventually I managed to connect after rebooting my laptop, and enjoyed all of 10 minutes of problem-free of wireless internet connectivity before the network just dropped out and now doesn't show up in my list of networks again, although the wireless LED is still on. Connecting via Ethernet still works, just not via wireless.I've rebooted my laptop and the router and tried switching channels on the router, all to no avail.
This problem is on a Cisco E1200 (FW: 1.0.03) and using a browser to modify the routers settings.I'm connected to the router from a wired connection, and I'm trying to turn off the encryption, and just have the router have the setting "disabled" as the selection for "Wireless Security".

However, it seems when I do this, the moment I press "Save" the router gets disconnected from my computer (the wired connection) and the only way to get reconnected is to run the Cisco Connect software from the computer that's hard wired to the router.

Once I get back to that screen in the routers settings, and try it again, the same thing happens.If I change anything else under the routers settings, the connection stays connected, but only when I change the wireless security settings to disabled I see this problem.
Wireless connection doesnt show up on Windows Xp, I now if it connected to the internet I could just install updates and it would automatically fix it, but I cant until i get it to connect?

I have also tried to reset the router without any luck. I know it its not the modem that is causing the problem because I'm wired to it now.On the E2000 every light is blinking as it should be (hence the FAQ) so it indicates that there might be a problem with the connection between the router and the computer (tested on other computers too without success).
View 9 Replies View RelatedI did a clean install of Windows 7 64-Bit the other day. I installed all drivers that came with my PC's Hardware, all went smooth. INCLUDING: Installing the original Linksys WMP300N Software/Driver Disc. I'm not sure how it installed, since i have a 64-Bit OS. It says that "This device is working properly", although no "Power Managment" tab came up in its Properties Menu. I had to manually go to the Registry Editor and turn off Some "Power Saving Features", like it auto-turning off. That's all i did an i'v had NO problems with it.  Although, I don't use the software, and never have, i prefer Microsofts. I'v also got a second PC with a different Linksys adapter(Non PCI One)working great on 32-Bit Win7.  How to get it to work on Windows 7?
