i am having an annoying issue with my wrt400n and my foscam FI8918W. in the dhcp reservation tab, the wrt400n doesn't show the foscam anywhere in the tab. it shows all laptops, cell phones, nases, etc. if i use the cisco connect software it does show it in the network map. i can probably add it manually via the gui. is this something normal or security cams not considered devices?

When I go to Status -> Local Network -> DHCP Client Table the list is blank but some computers are connected to the networkI'm using firmware 1.0.01 build 10  Feb 21, 2011, language = English, Firefox 4.0.1.Rebooting the router doesn't change anything, I can't see connected LAN equipment and DHCP Reservation is empty despite the fact I've created entries.Together with the "Access Restriction" which doesn't allow to block a computer from 10pm => 8am unless you create 2 rules + various issues with attached USB + 2.4Ghz signal that is far from optimal (never able to achieve more than 144-N-Mbps) and I ask myself if I will not contact the store where I purchased this unit and ask a refund (and buy something else from another brand...)
I tried to enter a name that included an illegal character (in this case, a single quote), and it gave me the popup box that said I had done so. When the popup closed, my DHCP reservation table was emptied out (I had maybe 5-6 reserved clients). In fact, I can't add new reservations anymore at all from this screen as it lists nothing in the DHCP clients table at the top. (Note, there are plenty of things in the DHCP Clients table over on the Status->Local Network tab). At this point, I think that my pre-existing reservations are still being held, but I'm not sure as it's only been about an hour so nothing has renewed.

I had firmware 1.0.05 when I encountered this problem. I upgraded to 1.0.07 as a means of trying to kick it into action, but the problem still exists.Â
my researvation table is incomplete. Below I show ipconfig that shows wired & wireless NICs assigned ip addresses by the E3200 router but the DHCP table only shows one.

I need to reserve the ip address of the wired address but can't get at it.
I have Linksys E3000 Router and it is connected to 7 Devices at this moment via DHCP. I have got New NAS Enclousre (8th Device) which has got Lan port . I have connected Box to One free Port on E3000 Router. I see DHCP Reservation from 192.168.0.1 assging one IP to My NAS Enclosure Box i.e 192.168.0.13 But when i ping that box . It's not pingable. When i try to browse that NAS Enclosure's setup web page - it's not opening. I can access that box setup page if i connect direct 1:1 Lan cable over private network (169.254.XXX). It means web server is runing on box. I am clueless. E3000 is assigning IP to NAS Enclosure but can't Browse or Ping. I tried to Assign Manual IP address to NAS enclusure and reconnect to router. Still I can't ping or browse.

Before upgrading my firmware on my EA2700, I can easily reserve IP address for my wired device. With the new cloud interface, I click to select the device from the top pane to bring it down in the reserved IP pane below. When I try to save the IP change I get two errors: 1) Invalid characters in the device name 2) Invalid IP address. I get the same errors even if I do not edid not edit the name or IP address.

As for the device name, I did not change anything or rename the device. One device has a " - " in the name and the router was happy with it until I tried to reserve the IP. Another one had a " ' " in the name, same problem again.

My network DHCP range is set to 192.168.1.200 to 192.168.1.250 and I use the range from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.100 for static IP. When I tried to reserve a static IP below 192.168.1.200, the router say that is an invalid IP.

The workaround to this problem has been to temporary set the DHCP range to 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.50 and set the static IP in that range and rename the devices to a name that the EA2700 will accept. Next I move the DHCP range from 192.168.1.50 to 192.168.1.100 and repeat the process. After, all the static IP are assigned, then I can reset the DHCP range to 192.168.1.200 to 192.168.1.250.

This is a pain to do. In the previous (cloud less) version, this was a breeze to do. Also, I have not figured out how to redirect ports with the new interface. Is that progress?
I have the WRT400N router with the latest firmware. Recently I have noticed a device in my DHCP that I do not recognize. It is not device I own (believe me, I have racked my brain and confirmed) as it shows as an Acer pc. I cannot ping the IP address however. I have rebooted my router several times thinking maybe it's a former connected device but saved in memory but it keeps coming back. I am thinking possibly it is someone hi-jacking my Internet, but not sure. I am using WEP security but it shows a LAN connection which is strange for a wireless device. The only hard wired pc is my HP.

Router says "Invalid IP address" when I try to make a manual IP address reservation of the IP address range.
Example: local network 192.168.1.0/24, where .1 is a router, .2 is a reservation, .20-.50 is a range for DHCP.
Before upgrade I didn't have this problem.
I have the e4200 and I am having trouble getting DHCP reservation to work properly with my Windows 7 machines. Perhaps there is a step that I am missing. Basically I go to the DHCP reservation setup page, select my machine and add it to the reservation table. Then I save the changes. As soon as I do this my computer goes offline. If I reboot my machine, it is still offline. I've tried the same procedure to reserve the IP address for my phone and it works fine so I wonder if the problem is with Win7.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a linksys E3200. Today I got disconnected and when it reconnected it stated that the network was changed to just network and not my usual network name. I was having connection issues with the network disconnecting me and reconnecting me. I uninstalled the cisco connect software. I contacted support who told me to restart the router and modem, which I did. After reset I tried to reinstall the software. Cisco Connect likes to insist to do the installation wirelessly but my laptop can't find the router during installation to complete it. My router is essentially a glorified wire connecting my computer to my modem now.Â

So when we connect This Router to the Modem it doesn't show connection to the internet. (The Setup fails because of this). But with the old one it does connect to the internet. So either my modem doesn't detect the new router or vice versa. So I am not sure why its not working since on the old one it works fine.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have 2 Media Bridges, a Trendnet TEW-640MB and TrendNet TEW-680MB. Both are set as a Static IP on the devices 192.168.1.150 and 192.168.1.151.  In the DHCP table for my E4200 I don't see those. I have no problem accessing them typing in those IP addresses but wondering why they don't show up in the table.Actually looking at it more closely, the devices hooked up that are active seem to show up.So I see the following below. And where is list LAN but no name those seem to be devices connected to the media bridges.

I have simple set-up in my network with 2 routers connected to each other, 2nd router is just kind of wireless access point and switch to extend cable sockets upstairs.I have DHCP reservation on the first router and it works perfectly. Second router has DHCP server disabled, and I have configured DHCP reservation same as the first router, but it gives random IP addressess instead of reserved. how can I configure second router to obtain MAC DHCP RESERVATION TABLE from the 1st router?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently installed some wireless IP cameras and when attempting to re-install a camera I went into the DHCP Client table to verify which IP a camera was using to set it up, but I could not...and still cannot see any of my cameras in the table even though I can access three of them directly through the IE web browser. I initially power cycled both the E4200 router and Motorola cable modem, and then later just the wireless router...but I still do not see the devices connected. I currently have 2.0.37 firmware even though I was told by Cisco support that there was a later version available, just before being informed that I do not have support available and could purchase it. I attempted to locate a newer version, but the online upgrade portion of the Cisco Connect software searched the net and then states that I have the latest version available. I also opened a Firefox browser to see if maybe my browser was causing issues, but the same limited table appears without all entries available. I even opened the Cisco Connect software on another laptop with the same limited results. Other than a factory reset, get me E4200 dual band wireless router to show all attached devices through the DHCP Client table as it previously did approximately two weeks ago?

The first one (which has cable-modem connection) is the brand new E4200, and the second one is the old WRT54GCv3.[code] However, the WRT54GCv3 doesn't get the IP address from the E4200's DHCP. I've also tried to connect them directly (without the PLC), even specifing an static IP on the second router, but I got the same results.I've to state I don't want to change the first router IP/gateway parameters because I have a web and game home server working with an static IP and I don't want to put it offline temporarily because of readjusting network parameters.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have configured a vlan interface on a 3750 switch. there is aprox 4Mb active traffic flowing through the interface, but when I do a "show interface vlan (vlanid)" the output show zero bits in and zero bits out. Its a typical L3 config with one IP on the vllan interface acting as the gateway for the VLAN devices. Is this a normal behaviur ? and if so is there any way to get the traffic in/out stats. The end PC/devices are connected to this switch via an L2 TRUNK and I dont have access to the L2 switch on which the actual devices connect. so cant get the real time stats of those interfaces.

However is there any way to add a DNS server address to this reserved IP so that only the Google Box is affected by the DNS, all the other connected devices remain unaffected? Presently i enter the required DNS address in the google box but i would prefer to do it on the EA4500. I'm using the latest Cisco Cloud fw on my router.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated my firmware to 1.01 my web interface for the network settings screen has been random. Somtimes it shows a DHCP reservation list, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes there are reservations, sometimes there are selectable radio buttons. I guess I'm just trying to figure out if this is a firmware issue or not. Ever since I updated the firmware it has been flakey.... But I was having issues with other stuff before that. When there are no reservations, sometimes i can't even select any computers because there aren't any in the drop down, when all of my hardware is online?

The router is not showing my external hard drive in the usb settings. The Hard drive is a seagate 7200rpm 1.5tb. The hard drive works just fine when plugged into my computer. I have tried NTFS and EXFAT. My 2gb usb drive in FAT32 shows up just fine. The external has its own power supply. Is there anything I am missing that would cause it to not work?
I am trying to troubleshoot my own router (Linksys) issues with using Lync and accessing some sharepoint sites that are internal to my company's network. I am connecting to the Internet using a Linksys router (WRT400N). When I have my work laptop using RESCUE GFE hardwired directly to the modem - and then connecting to VPN - I can connect to Lync and work normally. However, when I move connection via the router - I can no longer connect to Lync nor access some Sharepoints. I can access VPN fine but with Lync I get an error stating "Your Lync account does not allow access from outside your organization's network. Please connect to your organization's network and try again. However, I am connected via the VPN.this connection worked with a prior laptop using WinXP (I am no on Win7) and the connection thru router and using VPN worked with Communicator.I unfortunately had to reset my router - so I cannot recall if there were port settings established from the last time I had to set up the network. I didn't save the configuration; note to self - save configuration in future.

I put in the correct encryption key.. however as soon as i got connected, it just kept saying *Authenticating* for about 5-10 minutes then it disconnects me.. What i can do to stop this?The router itself was installed on a shared computer (I live with several roomates) and that particular computer got replaced.. does that matter to the router? the new one doesn't have the program installed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently upgraded to WRT400N from older 54G. Opened ports to my Linksys IP Cameras and can access via DynDNS address (using Modem addressort) from inside my network but not remotely. If I disable SPI Firewall it works from outside my network ... am I missing a step ... never had this problem with 54G and although I run software firewall on my computers I like the thought of added security of a firewall on my router.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBeen having random connection drops for the past few weeks where I would see the network connections to the router just drop either on a wireless connection or a wired cat 5 connection. As of tonight I cant connect to the router at all. If I disconnect and reconnect the power after 30 seconds it will come up for a short time but then I will lose it again. linksys as my router is out of warrenty. I'v searched around for similiar problems people have been having, but it seems like mostly involve just the internet connection. I still have the same firmware for the routers as the day I purchased it and the router sits on my desk in a ventilated area not overheating. I can do to further diagnose the problem, I have even tried resetting to factory defaults. I try to diagnose the problem or see if my router is just dead.
