Linksys Cable / DSL :: WAG120N Configuring Devices On Same Subnet

Feb 14, 2012

I have a Linksys WAG120N Wireless-N ADSL2+ Modem Router. The firmware version is V1.00.12.I run a Windows machine attached to the router which has a certain sub network address. On that same machine I run a Virtual Machine with Linux which has its own address, I've been noticing that whenever I shut down either machine and then turn them back on later, they acquire another address, which makes it annoying for me to make them communicate between each other (by, for example, trying to load a webpage hosted on the VM from the physical machine) without knowing the actual address, which, as I said earlier, seems to change every time.
I'd like to know if there's a way (with my router model) to configure it so that the sub network address of both machines remains the same, no matter whether or not they've been shut down and restarted.

Linksys Cable / DSL :: WAG120N - Syncing Data Between Devices

Mar 15, 2011

I have small WiFi home network based on WAG120N router. Two Macs, iPad, iPhone, two iPods etc and, unfortunately, endless series of problems. Devices can't see each other - iPad can't see iPhone and vice versa. Syncing of data between devices sometimes works but most of the time it don't. And so on, and so on... I have to restart WiFi on Mac and on iPhone to sync i.e. iBank data. PhotoSync between iPad and iPhone doesn't work but once (?!) it did.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 Can See None Of Devices Attached To Power-line Devices

Aug 15, 2011

I have installed my new E4200 and it works beautifully.  I have several wirelss adapters and a few wired connections through powerline adapters. I also have a second VPN router attached to the 4200.I can see the wireless connected devices with the associated IP addresses.  If I plug a laptop directly into the Cisco, I can of course see it.However,  I can see none of the devices attatched to the powerline devices?  I have a securty cam connected via the powerline and want to know the IP address.  I checked with cisco technical support via chat and they said it is impossible.  I have used 2 previous routers with the same configuration and can see all devices.

Linksys Cable / DSL :: WAG160N Blinking With No Ethernet Cable Attached To Router

Feb 24, 2012

I have a  WAG160N  wireless gateway . Yesterday when i tried to power it on after a couple of seconds the power led was solid green and the Ethernet leds were blinking with no Ethernet cable attached to the router . The ethernet leds would keep blinking for minutes . I tried to use a screwdriver to do a hardware reset  ( with power on ) and i noticed that the power led would start blinking green/red for minutes . I tried to use another wired router which i have for backup and it could connect to the internet normally without a problem.

What the green / red blinking power led means ( power led is green and then changes to red and then it starts over ) ?

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 - DHCP Reservation Not Showing Anything

Jun 9, 2011

When I'm in Setup -> Basic Setup -> click on DHCP Reservation, I don't see all entries I've created earlier but computers that connect still have the correct IP address on the network; I don't know if I can create additional entries if nothing appears
When I go to Status -> Local Network -> DHCP Client Table the list is blank but some computers are connected to the networkI'm using firmware 1.0.01 build 10  Feb 21, 2011, language = English, Firefox 4.0.1.Rebooting the router doesn't change anything, I can't see connected LAN equipment and DHCP Reservation is empty despite the fact I've created entries.Together with the "Access Restriction" which doesn't allow to block a computer from 10pm => 8am unless you create 2 rules + various issues with attached USB + 2.4Ghz signal that is far from optimal (never able to achieve more than 144-N-Mbps) and I ask myself if I will not contact the store where I purchased this unit and ask a refund (and buy something else from another brand...)

Linksys Wireless Router :: E2500v2 DHCP Reservation Table Bug

May 12, 2013

I tried to enter a name that included an illegal character (in this case, a single quote), and it gave me the popup box that said I had done so. When the popup closed, my DHCP reservation table was emptied out (I had maybe 5-6 reserved clients). In fact, I can't add new reservations anymore at all from this screen as it lists nothing in the DHCP clients table at the top. (Note, there are plenty of things in the DHCP Clients table over on the Status->Local Network tab). At this point, I think that my pre-existing reservations are still being held, but I'm not sure as it's only been about an hour so nothing has renewed.
I had firmware 1.0.05 when I encountered this problem. I upgraded to 1.0.07 as a means of trying to kick it into action, but the problem still exists.

I have Linksys E3000 Router and it is connected to 7 Devices at this moment via DHCP. I have got New NAS Enclousre (8th Device) which has got Lan port . I have connected Box to One free Port on E3000 Router. I see DHCP Reservation from assging one IP to My NAS Enclosure Box i.e But when i ping that box . It's not pingable. When i try to browse that NAS Enclosure's setup web page - it's not opening. I can access that box setup page if i connect direct 1:1 Lan cable over private network (169.254.XXX). It means web server is runing on box. I am clueless. E3000 is assigning IP to NAS Enclosure but can't Browse or Ping. I tried to Assign Manual IP address to NAS enclusure and reconnect to router. Still I can't ping or browse.

Linksys Wireless Router :: EA2700 / Connect Cloud And DHCP Reservation

Jul 3, 2012

Before upgrading my firmware on my EA2700, I can easily reserve IP address for my wired device. With the new cloud interface, I click to select the device from the top pane to bring it down in the reserved IP pane below. When I try to save the IP change I get two errors: 1) Invalid characters in the device name 2) Invalid IP address. I get the same errors even if I do not edid not edit the name or IP address.
As for the device name, I did not change anything or rename the device. One device has a " - " in the name and the router was happy with it until I tried to reserve the IP. Another one had a " ' " in the name, same problem again.
My network DHCP range is set to to and I use the range from to 192.168.100 for static IP. When I tried to reserve a static IP below, the router say that is an invalid IP.
The workaround to this problem has been to temporary set the DHCP range to to and set the static IP in that range and rename the devices to a name that the EA2700 will accept. Next I move the DHCP range from to and repeat the process. After, all the static IP are assigned, then I can reset the DHCP range to to
This is a pain to do. In the previous (cloud less) version, this was a breeze to do. Also, I have not figured out how to redirect ports with the new interface. Is that progress?

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 Getting DHCP Reservation To Work Properly With Windows 7 Machine

Jun 7, 2011

I have the e4200 and I am having trouble getting DHCP reservation to work properly with my Windows 7 machines. Perhaps there is a step that I am missing. Basically I go to the DHCP reservation setup page, select my machine and add it to the reservation table. Then I save the changes. As soon as I do this my computer goes offline. If I reboot my machine, it is still offline. I've tried the same procedure to reserve the IP address for my phone and it works fine so I wonder if the problem is with Win7.

Cisco :: How To Find Attached Devices By MAC Address

Jun 21, 2011

We have a pair of Cisco 6513 switches, to which a selection of Wintel/Linux/UNIX servers are attached, but we have some connections that we can't identify and the data centre is a remote lights-out operation operated by a 3rd party in another country. determining which server NIC ports connect through (via patch panels) to which ports on the Cisco switches. In particular, I have a UNIX (HP-UX) server that has 4 dual port NICs (ie. 8 LAN ports), of which only one is assigned an IP address, but I can see that the other ports have connectivity at level 2 (HP-UX has a "linkloop" command that is analogous to an IP "ping" but takes a MAC address, and I get a response from each when I check from another server). This means that I know that there is a physical, electrical, and level 2 connection. The one server port with the active IP address set up shows in the switches address table ("sh mac-address-table") and it gives the port it is attached to. But the remaining 7 ports do not have IP addresses assigned and so are not listed in the table.

Main network "Fios" uses Actiontec MI424WR Gen2. Router DHCP enabled: IP schema 192.168.X.X
Secondary network "Leo". uses Netgear power-line Router DHCP enabled: IP schem 10.0.X.X

Ever since I updated the firmware it has been flakey.... But I was having issues with other stuff before that. When there are no reservations, sometimes i can't even select any computers because there aren't any in the drop down, when all of my hardware is online?
