Linksys Wireless Router :: E2500 - Screen Says Hook Everything Up After Popping In Installation CD

Jan 7, 2012

After popping in the installation CD, the screen says hook everything up, which I do. Then click next, where it says "Searching Networks", then quickly changes to "Connecting to Network", and then it says it "Cannot Find Router.". Err.  Check setup, etc.If I hook up directly to new router VIA internet cable. Also, this is strange: When I just open up a web browser and try to log into the router 192.168.1.1, using no user name, administration as the password, it won't let me in to the router. Even after I have reset the router with a pen.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT400N - Cannot Access IP Camera?

Aug 30, 2011

Recently upgraded to WRT400N from older 54G.  Opened ports to my Linksys IP Cameras and can access via DynDNS address (using Modem addressort)  from inside my network but not remotely.  If I disable SPI Firewall it works from outside my network ... am I missing a step ... never had this problem with 54G and although I run software firewall on my computers I like the thought of added security of a firewall on my router.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200v2 Connect Camera To Netgear WPN-824

Mar 3, 2012

I recently puchased a new E4200v2 router and one of the devices that I have on my network is a Level1 WCS-2040 wireless network camera.  My old router was a Netgear WPN-824.  I was able to (and I'm still able to) connect the camera to the Netgear router with WPA-PSK but not to the new E4200v2.  The only way for me to connect it to the new router is with WEP, which I obviously do not want.

I'm at a loss for what the problem is because the setup is easily done.  I'm thinking it's an issue with the E4200v2 but I'm not sure what... hoping that the issue could be resolved in the next revision of the firmware.  I've tried WPA2/WPA Mixed Mode, WPA Personal (which I understand is the same thing as WPA-PSK) and WEP.  The camera supports WEP and WPA-PSK.  When I have the camera configured with WPA-PSK it simply isn't connecting to the E4200v2, only the old netgear.

See screenshots below:
 Netgear router wireless config:
Netgear router connected devices (shows laptop and wirelss camera):
IP Camera config while connected to old router:
IP Camera working on old network:
E4200v2 wireless status:
IP Camera config while connected to E4200v2 router (via wired connection, not wireless):

When the wired connection is removed from the camera and powercycled, the E4200v2 does not list the camera as a connected device.  I've power cycled everything, multiple times and tried everything I know of.  What could be the problem?  Note that the MAC address for the camera is the same for both wired and wireless adapters. And no, Password1 is not my default password... just what I was testing with for the purpose of screenshots.

Hook Up A Motorola 2210 Modem And Linksys WRT120N Router Without Bridging?

Sep 28, 2011

I'm not that great at networking, I'm pretty much a novice but I'm trying to connect a modem and router to my computer but get around bridging the modem if possible. You see, I am working with AT&T and their dsl modem access page only works for me if the modem is unbridged. If I bridge the modem, I cannot get on the page again to unbridge it while I am trying to hook up my router. When I need them to unbridge the modem, I have to stay on hold for hours. One guy even told me that he did unbridge the modem, but since my internet persisted not to work, he told me my ethernet card went bad of a sudden on my computer. I knew this was incorrect so after a few more hours on hold, I had a lady debate with me that she was not unbridging my modem since it was my ethernet card that was bad and not the bridging. Finally, laughing to herself, she unbridged the modem for me and it worked

Here is what I have: My modem is a Motorola 2210 Style: MSTATEA My router is a Linksys WRT120N

As of right now, I just have a LAN with my modem plugged in through an ethernet cord to my PC. Is there a way of me hooking up my Linksys router to my modem and PC without bridging the modem? If so, where can I find out instructions for this?

Linksys Wireless Router :: Wireless Camera Won't Work With New EA4500

May 3, 2012

I'm having a problem with a D-Link DCS932L camera after setting up the EA4500.  The manual for the camera can be found here.

[URL]

It worked fine with my old D-Link router.  Everything else in the house has not had a problem with the EA4500.  There is a certail level of criticality around this camera and, if I can't get it to work, I will have to return the router.  I setup port forwarding as 5556 ~ 5559, TCP Protocol (but I tried "Both" as well" with the IP address of the camera.  It still doesn't work.I'm IT by trade but not in networking, i.e. I'm not stupid with tech but port wrangling is out of my comfort zone.  The setup of this camera with our old router took minutes.  I've spent about five hours trying to get it to work on the EA4500.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Setup A DVR Camera System And Two Webpage Server Boxes Behind A WRT54GL?

Apr 6, 2010

I'm trying to setup a DVR camera system and two web page server boxes behind a Linksys WRT54GL.  The problem I have is that all of the devices want to use port 80 to generate the web page.  Individually, I can get the boxes to work, but when I try to put it all together everything seems to fall apart.  I've got to the DVR set to External port 80, Internal Port 80 IP address 192.168.1.254.  The web page server box I try to set to External port 8001, Internal port 80, IP address 192.168.1.200, when I try to save this setting I get the error message Internet IP address and LAN IP address are in the same subnet.  If I change the web page server settings to External port 8001, Internal port 8001, IP address 192.168.1.200, it will save the settings, but it won't work that way because it won't actually generate a web page when I try to access that port. The error message doesn't seem to make since as all I'm changing is the port number, not the IP address or subnet mask.

D-Link DCS Network Camera :: 910 - Way To Access A Camera Without Using Dyndns?

May 11, 2012

I asked a question recently about accessing camera via a smartphone but I realize that's not really the correct question.  The smartphone works fine locally with wifi and has a browser available.

The real question I have is what is the easiest way to access any camera via a browser from a remote location.  Years ago tech friend assisted me access my DCS-910 using dyndns.org.  It was free and worked great.  I guess it went away when they started charging for a basic account.

Is there an easy way to access a camera without using dyndns even if it involves putting in an IP address instead of a convenient domain name?  I would just like to see at least one of my cameras in a browser off-site.  If I have to pay $20/year for dyndns I can but I would prefer not to if possible.
