So here's my situation: up untill last night myWireless Internet was working fine, I came home and it all of a sudden would only connect with limited access? SoNo Internet ect. I left it for the night and wentto sleep, then this morning i come to logon and it wont find networks at all, nothing comes up in network centre and it dosent seem to even be looking for networks?!
View 5 Repliesmy computer has been playing up the last couple of weeks not finding my network, even though ive had it about a year now without any trouble before. my laptop and iphone still pick up the wifi with no problems.i decided to format the computer as i wanted to do a clean install anyway, which has not made any difference. i have even tried bringing the desktop downstairs now and placed it directly next the the router to see if it would pick it up then, which it hasnt.
i have used an edimax wireless usb receiver ever since the computer was new which worked fine up until now, i also purchased a wireless pci card to see if that worked (wasnt sure if my my edimax usb had broken), which still doesnt work. the drivers for both the pci card and the usb receiver are up to date.i have tried logging into the routers firmware and changed the channel from 'auto' to channels 1-12. with no luck. i have now had to plug my computer into the router via the ethernet port to get the internet working.
i also run ubuntu on a dual boot, which for some reason also doesn't pick up the wireless network. (however my laptop runs ubuntu and does pick up the wifi)
I have a dell, running windows 7. I can see and connect to other networks, just not my work network. I can see my work network and connect to it from other devices. However I can't see it on the dell and I can't manually connect to it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy DIR-615 was working for months but then it unexpectedly stopped. So I tried re-linking, but Windows can't find the certificate to log onto the network. I found the network fine but I can't find anything that lets me input the WEP key.
Perhaps I need to reset it up on the main computer? But I don't know how to find the IP address or the MAC address.
I just got myself a new laptop, and set it up. It is connected to the wireless internet in my home. I then wanted to create a homegroup between the laptop and my desktop, but they can't find each other. Probably because the desktop has a wired connection to the router and the laptop is connected to a wireless access point. The router and the AP are connected to a switch in the middle by cable.

They both point to the same gateway and DHCP-server (on 192.168.0.1). And I can ping to that address from both PCs. When I try to ping either of the PCs the pings time out. The subnets are also the same (255.255.255.0) and the IPs are in the same range (192.168.0.114 laptop, 192.168.0.205 desktop).
So I don't really understand what I need to do to be able to access either computer from the other. The weird thing is that Synergy (to use mouse and keyboard over the network) works, just by using the IPs assigned to both PCs.
The acces point is a linksys WAP54g, but I'm unsure of the Router, it has a custom casing from our ISP and hides any clues for identifying the product. I'm going to google a bit so I can add that info later. Both PC's are Windows 7 64 bit. The desktop is Ultimate, the laptop Professional.
months ago, i installed a USB card so that my dvd burner could run at 2.0 or 3.0. it has worked fine. every now and then the card becomes unlodged from inside the computer, and i have to push it back into the slot.Tonight, while the computer was on, i was putting it back in, and it popped all the way out, my computer shut down and when i restarted it, i got the error message "windows did not find properly installed network adapter/ if you have network adapter update/re-install drivers"Only problem i have is when i go to device manager, i see NO network adapter?

My DIR-825 has the latest firmware, 2.06xx and works flawlessly, even the shareport usb port works without a hitch with a Seagate Expansion 3TB drive connected into it. What I simply would like is the D-Link gadget.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got back from vacation and suddenly can't connect to my Wifi network at home with my netbook anymore. It says validating identity but never connects. When I try to repair the connection, it keeps authenticating and then says that windows is unable to find a certificate to log me on to the network. I did some googling and it was suggested to uncheck the Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network box under the Authentication tab in Wireless Network properties. I tried that but then I get an error message saying "The network password needs to be 40bits or 104bits depending on your network configuration".I have no idea what to do or what the problem is. My other laptop works fine from which I have set up this network works fine. My phone seems to work fine, too. I already restarted the router and my netbook but that didn't work either.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWell one day i went onto my gaming PC and started playing, it randomly restarted and did some random windows check while starting. Then when i finally logged on i had no internet connection, my computer didnt sense there being a cable plugged in (Wired connection. The orange light wasn't on) So i figured i should just reinstall windows anyway (Blue screens, ect) After i reinstall i have the same issues. I have moved it to a different room and still the same thing. If i can't fix it then i plan to just buy a USB wireless but i would like to see what others think what i should do before i go making hasty decisions.
The computer say "Windows could not find a driver for your network adapter" I have tried many things i have found on this forum and nothing. So maybe a link to a driver? my Router is a Linksys WRT54GL and has always worked.
I am passing my computer on to a family member and wanted to give them a fresh install, so I used the Windows Vista (32-bit SP1) disc that came with the laptop and reinstalled Vista on the computer. Everything worked fine until I wanted to connect to the internet, then Windows said that there were no networks available. When I selected "Why can't windows find any networks" it said that "This computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured". I put in the Dell Driver's and Utilities CD that came with the computer and installed the drivers that seemed related to networks or communications, but the problem persists. I'm assuming it is some sort of driver issue (as the computer was using wireless internet before the reformat (just hours ago) and so the device itself seems to be working.

I turned off the firewall, temporarily, even though I shouldn't have to because it's only the Windows firewall. I can see/access/read&write files on my Win7 machine from my WinXP machine. But I cannot see the WinXP machine from the Win7 machine. I set up a couple of test share folders in different locations, but cannot see the computer at all. I have done the 'diagnose problem' and received errors: 0x80070043, 0x80070035, and 0x80004005 after various attempts.

However, I tried to direct connect via Macbook and it works with no problem.I tried to fast reset my book live to factory default settings and direct connect from my book live to my PC via Ethernet, simply it worked!
