Broadband :: Message Says Windows Was Unable To Find A Certificate To Log In To Network?
Nov 5, 2011
My friend has just got a laptop and when she is at my place it shows that my computer is nearby but message says "Windows was unable to find a certificate to log in to network".
I just got back from vacation and suddenly can't connect to my Wifi network at home with my netbook anymore. It says validating identity but never connects. When I try to repair the connection, it keeps authenticating and then says that windows is unable to find a certificate to log me on to the network. I did some googling and it was suggested to uncheck the Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network box under the Authentication tab in Wireless Network properties. I tried that but then I get an error message saying "The network password needs to be 40bits or 104bits depending on your network configuration".I have no idea what to do or what the problem is. My other laptop works fine from which I have set up this network works fine. My phone seems to work fine, too. I already restarted the router and my netbook but that didn't work either.
I've been wrestling with a Windows XP reinstall that wiped out my network adapter. Fortunately I found D-Link AirPlus Utility and have restored it. However, now it says that windows was unable to find a certificate to log me on to the network, although I have entered the correct key.
"Can't find certificate-wireless". I've applied all the suggestions. With and with out Winduh Zero Config and network adapter software. Unchecked 802.1x, changed ecryption types, modem and computer reboots, push little button on back of modem, tried two differnt makes of network adapters, confirmed correct network key typed, etc. All these things in many combinations. Great full signal, no certificate or with software installed no connectivity. Is it time to Ethernet hard wire my network? Is it the Windstream 1704 modem? Studied and tweaked the modem settings a little
My DIR-615 was working for months but then it unexpectedly stopped. So I tried re-linking, but Windows can't find the certificate to log onto the network. I found the network fine but I can't find anything that lets me input the WEP key.
Perhaps I need to reset it up on the main computer? But I don't know how to find the IP address or the MAC address.
We have VPN IPSec tunnels on cisco routers between Remote/Central sites. I'd like to replace the old 2811 by 29xx on the remote sites. So I did export/import RSA key for the certificate as follows:On 2811,But the IPSec tunnel didn't go up, it stayed in MM mode giving "Bad certificate" message in the log.I ckecked and compared the RSA key and certificate between these routers; they are the same in characters.
Our copier has been cabled to our network but the copier company cannot install the printer driver without the IP address. Where do I find this? We don't have an IT dept.
i reinstall my computer today, and i can't connected to the internet.also, i can't find newtork adapters in the device manager section.something must wrong, i just don't know what's wrong.
I have an Acer 3810T laptop and am running Windows 7 on it.The problem I've had is my WiFi has been unstable. For example for 5 minutes or sometimes up to an hour I can easily find wifi networks in range of my laptop but then out of nowhere it disappears and I don't find any networks but any other WiFi device will find my router so I know it's laptop related.I did some research on Google and found out this is an issue others have had with Windows 7 and it seems to be something to do with when updates are installed. I followed the advice to remove my WiFi drivers and reinstall them so I downloaded a file for the Intel drivers from Acer's website. I went into Control Panel and removed 2 devices that were related to WiFi. I then did a scan for hardware and found one wifi device, an Intel WiFI Link 5100AGN. I installed the driver for this one. The problem is I know I removed two and this is the only one the scan found and I can't remember the name of the other wifi device/driver I removed.Unfortunately ever since I did this my WiFi isn't working. In the control panel it shows all drivers are installed and working but when I click on the bars at the bottom of my screen no wifi networks show. I have tried going into the Network and Sharing Center and for example I select set up a connection or network and when I select Manually Connect to a wireless network it states "An Unexpected Error Occured" so I know something is missing that's allowing the WiFI to work.
I have a Netgear WNR612 wireless router, which worked fine for a few weeks. Then something happened and I can't keep the connection anymore. It happened right after I used iTunes to update my iPhone, perhaps a coincidence, but I'm mentioning that just in case. Internet still works fine with ethernet cable straight from the computer, only the wireless connection doesn't work. This happened about a month ago and I haven't been at home much to fix the problem. I have turned off and unplugged everything for several days at a time while gone. I get a Network Error message saying, Windows has detected an IP address conflict. I have tried restoring the router back to factory settings and reinstalling the wireless card. I have tried changing the IP address settings both in the Network and Sharing Center and the router admin page. What I think I should do is change the IP address in Command Prompt, but when I type "ipconfig /release", it says "No operation can be performed on Wireless Network Connection 2 while it has its media disconnected" and the same for Local Area Connection. I don't understand what this means, because there is a wireless key in my keyboard and there is a white light (not orange) like there should be. Also in the Network and Sharing Center, I can see that the connections are enabled.
windows 7 won''t go into DOS commands and having problems with network. Often does not get a Local Area Connection, no IP Config, DNS Server Config not responding
Ethernet cable plugged in but get message "no connectivity plub in the cable" This is after I upgraded my desk top from XP to vista home premium. I've checked my drive (via rhine11) it is working.
I recieve 0X800CCC0F error message when trying to download emails with attachments. My ISP is BT. BT say they cant fix it on my computer but many people are having this problem. They say their technicians are trying to fix it presumbably on the servers.
I have my downstairs PC (Windows Vista 64 bit) conncted to a Belkin router. model F5D7632-4. This works without any problems.Upstairs, my son has a PC (Windows XP) that connects via a Belkin USB G Network Adapter, model F5D7050, version 4.000uk. This worked perfectly, too.He has just got a new PC which I have bought from a friend. My friend used the tower of a previous PC my son had, which had died about 4 years back when the PSU blew and took everything out with it, and fitted the motherboard, graphics card, HDD, RAM etc etc (it uses Windows 7).
I downloaded the latest drivers from the Belkin site, installed them, but for the life of me, the new PC will not detect the network connection. At all. It doesn't find anything. So, I unplugged my PC from the router, and plugged the new PC into it. Unsurpisingly, it connected to the net without any problems. The next thing I did was to reconnect my PC to the router, and try my son's new PC wirelessly again with the Network Adaptor, in the same room. Again, it just doesn't find a network at all.The PC detects the Adapter being plugged in and out, and the light is on on it. I even tried his old PC with the Adapter, and that still finds the network perfectly.
I was on the phone to Belkin for 35 mins yesterday, and they went through everything, to no avail. They think the USB slots may be faulty, even though the PC knows when i'm plugging things into them.
i am having real issues with my printer, i have a network of 3 computers and it was attached to a printer that worked fine, i then changed the printer for a new one and i am now unable to find this printer on my network. i have installed drivers on the computers. how do i find the printer. the network works fine with everything else.
My internet comes to D-link 655 wireless router from there I have wired connection, one of the connection goes to a switch from this switch I connect wired devices in my office.Another connection from D-link 655 router goes to another wireless router in my living room which is a Linksys router. My few devices and a laptop connects to this router. My problem is I am not able to see the devices connected to my Linksys router from my office devices
So here's my situation: up untill last night myWireless Internet was working fine, I came home and it all of a sudden would only connect with limited access? SoNo Internet ect. I left it for the night and wentto sleep, then this morning i come to logon and it wont find networks at all, nothing comes up in network centre and it dosent seem to even be looking for networks?!
I have a Belkin G Wireless router and I have a Acer Aspire 5738Z and I have no problem linking up to the router. My husband has an old Dell Latitude D620 and when I try to open up his laptop and connec it to the router it doesn't connect and the message I get is Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you onto the network loobi's.
my computer has been playing up the last couple of weeks not finding my network, even though ive had it about a year now without any trouble before. my laptop and iphone still pick up the wifi with no problems.i decided to format the computer as i wanted to do a clean install anyway, which has not made any difference. i have even tried bringing the desktop downstairs now and placed it directly next the the router to see if it would pick it up then, which it hasnt.
i have used an edimax wireless usb receiver ever since the computer was new which worked fine up until now, i also purchased a wireless pci card to see if that worked (wasnt sure if my my edimax usb had broken), which still doesnt work. the drivers for both the pci card and the usb receiver are up to date.i have tried logging into the routers firmware and changed the channel from 'auto' to channels 1-12. with no luck. i have now had to plug my computer into the router via the ethernet port to get the internet working.
i also run ubuntu on a dual boot, which for some reason also doesn't pick up the wireless network. (however my laptop runs ubuntu and does pick up the wifi)
I have a dell, running windows 7. I can see and connect to other networks, just not my work network. I can see my work network and connect to it from other devices. However I can't see it on the dell and I can't manually connect to it.
I know that the routers communicates using routing protocols and that they forward the ip packets. So I looked in the IP header and the RIP header(for example) and I don`t understands when an packet comes in how does the router understands it`s type? (There`s no byte field to tell him explicitly that this is an ip packet or a rip message)
