i am having real issues with my printer, i have a network of 3 computers and it was attached to a printer that worked fine, i then changed the printer for a new one and i am now unable to find this printer on my network. i have installed drivers on the computers. how do i find the printer. the network works fine with everything else.
View 4 RepliesI have 2 desktops (running windows 7), a Canon MF8300 printer, and an outgoing ethernet line, all on a Netgear Advanced Cable Modem Gateway CGD24-CPR. I'm only concerned with having the 2 desktops set up with the Canon printer.Both computers have been connected to the printer before and I have the startup disk. But once the new offices were set up and both of the desktops were moved, I can no longer access or find the printer.
I can IPconfig the Desktops for their IPV4 addresses and both desktops recognize eachother on a Homegroup, but I can't find the printer. I printed off the print configuration page from the printer which gave me an IP address (printer is set for auto-obtain), but using an IP search won't bring up the printer.All of the devices are plugged into ethernet ports set up for the three different office they are in and the actual location of the Netgear cable modem/router is over 100 feet away. My primary concern is getting the printer for the desktops, but I also need to add a wireless router into one of those office in the future.
We purchased a new printer which is running on a network where one computer is running Windows 7 and the other Windows XP. The printer cable is connected to the Windows 7 computer. The print function works fine on the Windows 7 but doesn't work on Windows XP. Asking me for a "printer name" and I don't know what to put in that option. When I go to printers and faxes I click on each of the options under shared printers and it still asks for "printer name"?

Started getting print errors when trying to print, so deleted software and reinstalled. Now the mp990 software can not find printer on network and will not finalize installation and download drivers. Printer will find access point on netgear. I'm running window 7 64bit. I'm not very verse at playing with a router.

I am running a computer with Windows 7 Service pack 1 64 bit OS and I'm trying to install a wireless Canon MX420 printer.My computer is connected to my router through an ethernet cord and I have managed to set up my printer's wifi just fine. It appears connected on the printer's screen and I have disabled all firewalls on my computer yet it still won't detect it.

Previously, we had no problems with my computer finding the main on the network along with the printer. But now the main computer can see mine (printer and PC) but I cannot connect to the main. Mine does not see the printer nor the PC. We are both running the same virus protection, which is Norton. I really want to use the main computer's printer, which I was able to do until for some reason now I go into networking and it is not there. I know it is marked as shared. When I go into setup network printer and type the name of the printer a window pops up "The printer sever spooling service is not available". I have uninstalled the printer software and drivers and reinstalled but still not showing up on the network?
When I click print a document the printer I am looking for is there but it shows as offline, which it is not. I am not 100% sure but seemed to occur when we switched from Mckfee to Norton?

This works without any problems.Upstairs, my son has a PC (Windows XP) that connects via a Belkin USB G Network Adapter, model F5D7050, version 4.000uk. This worked perfectly, too.He has just got a new PC which I have bought from a friend. My friend used the tower of a previous PC my son had, which had died about 4 years back when the PSU blew and took everything out with it, and fitted the motherboard, graphics card, HDD, RAM etc etc (it uses Windows 7).
I downloaded the latest drivers from the Belkin site, installed them, but for the life of me, the new PC will not detect the network connection. At all. It doesn't find anything.So, I unplugged my PC from the router, and plugged the new PC into it. Unsurpisingly, it connected to the net without any problems. The next thing I did was to reconnect my PC to the router, and try my son's new PC wirelessly again with the Network Adaptor, in the same room. Again, it just doesn't find a network at all.The PC detects the Adapter being plugged in and out, and the light is on on it. I even tried his old PC with the Adapter, and that still finds the network perfectly.
I was on the phone to Belkin for 35 mins yesterday, and they went through everything, to no avail. They think the USB slots may be faulty, even though the PC knows when i'm plugging things into them.
I want to change my network, but unable to, because they keep asking about a security key. What is it and how do I find it?

The PC's that I plug into any of the 8 ports are working fine. However, when I plug in a network printer, it does not work from the network, only from a PC that is also plugged into the RV082, basically locally, using TCPIP
From our data center, I can ping the printer, but the printer shows 'Off-Line'. I even tried to add a TCPIP port, in the printer setup, and it does not see it.
My internet comes to D-link 655 wireless router from there I have wired connection, one of the connection goes to a switch from this switch I connect wired devices in my office.Another connection from D-link 655 router goes to another wireless router in my living room which is a Linksys router. My few devices and a laptop connects to this router.My problem is I am not able to see the devices connected to my Linksys router from my office devices

I have it wired directly to the router and all pcs on the home network can see it, however when i select to do a test print, nothing prints to the printer and i get error. I had this setup using the d-link router with both the printer and the XP PC wired directly to the router and using the XP PC as a network pc sharing the printer to other pcs (Vista / Windows 7) on the home network.The printer is a Toshiba e-studio 160 series.. I re-added the print drivers for XP and still not able to print. Is there anything else I can try?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got back from vacation and suddenly can't connect to my Wifi network at home with my netbook anymore. It says validating identity but never connects. When I try to repair the connection, it keeps authenticating and then says that windows is unable to find a certificate to log me on to the network. I did some googling and it was suggested to uncheck the Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network box under the Authentication tab in Wireless Network properties. I tried that but then I get an error message saying "The network password needs to be 40bits or 104bits depending on your network configuration".I have no idea what to do or what the problem is. My other laptop works fine from which I have set up this network works fine. My phone seems to work fine, too. I already restarted the router and my netbook but that didn't work either.

I connected my Acer Aspire 5742Z laptop to the router via an ethernet cable and it worked fine. I connected to the router and it said there were no errors.

After opening my laptop one day, i realise i can't find any networks. There are usually multiple connections available, be they my neighbours' or mine, but i'm unable to even find them. I'm not given the option to connect wirelessly, but only via cable. I'm not sure whether it's a hardware problem or there's something up with my software.I'm using a Dell Inspiron 1525 which is running on Windows 7 - 32bit.

We also have a lexmark printer that is connected wireless as well. The Vista laptop has worked and prints fine with the lexmark. Now I have been trying to connect my new laptop to find the printer but when trying to add a new printer or even trying to add a new device windows 7 never finds the printer. I have installed the drivers from lexmark and have even enabled sharing on the printer properties from within the Vista laptop and still my win7 cannot find anything. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using a Compaq laptop, and i have Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter attached to it.I used to be able to connect to a Printer Brother MFC-J430W via wireless and print from it.But recently, when I try to print from it, it says that the printer is offline. I tried restarting my laptop, wireless adapter, and the printer, I also try restarting the spooler service but the attempt was not successful. Try unchecking SNMP and the printer is online but I can't print from it. So, I decided to uninstall the printer and reinstall it again. This is where another problem occurs. When I try reinstalling it, my laptop seems to be unable to find the printer (I have entered the IP address of my Printer but the printer still can't be found). Oh, and by the way, other laptop seems to be able to print a document from that printer.
