Zyxel 600 - Sudden Losses Wifi And Unable To Find Network
Mar 27, 2012
Have a ZyXEL 600 wireless router - it has worked without issues for years. However yesterday evening my wireless router suddenly stopped broadcasting a signal. 2 different PC's and a wifi dongle attached to our TV were suddenly all unable to find my network. The WLAN light on the router was still lit up. I connected my Acer Aspire 5742Z laptop to the router via an ethernet cable and it worked fine. I connected to the router and it said there were no errors.
I just updated the firmware on my ZyXEL NBG-416N router and now I cannot see the wireless network being broadcasted on my PC. Other devices in my home can view this network including my phone, HDTV and laptop. I have reset the router, modem and computer several times but my PC still cannot find that specific wireless network.I am using Windows 7 64-bitASUS 802.11n Wireless LAN CardAny reason that my computer is unable to find this specific network but can find others? switchie15 has chosen the best answer to his/her question.Click here to view the answer that was selected.
I'm having WIFI connection issues with a Sony Vaio VGN-FW140E Laptop. After a connection is established it will randomly stop working. The network adapter is a Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN using driver version 14.3.0.6,I have also tested the connection with a Cisco Valet AM10 WIFI USB adapter and received the same results. All other devices connected wirelessly are not experiencing any connection problems.
I have a D-LINK DIR-300 router with 4 LAN and WI-FI. It's acting very strange lately. It is connected to a UPS battery and the one LAN connection is in surge protection. Here are the symptoms:
-Every 2 days it just loses connection. I have to reboot it so to make the connection working. It's a little bit annoying after awhile. - One day one of the LEDs started like fading away and came back up (the one that signals the LAN connection). - When all the LEDs were properly working and the connection was good also, I moved the the power adapter cord a little bit at some part (I didn't plugged it out) and some of the LEDs gone (Internet connection LED and Wireless) but all the other LEDs were working. Of course there wasn't connection either.my OP is Ubuntu 12.04 and the connection DHCP is well configured.
I have a Linksys Wireless-N Home Router, WRT120N to be exact, and I have been having problems with my wireless. My wifi losses internet connection intermittently. This does not happen when I am connected directly to the router with a Ethernet cable. I have redone all the settings many times(like 6) and Im still having the same problem. I really dont want to have to buy a new router
I vave a zyxel p-660HW-T1 v2.I need to do PORT FORWARDING since I want to use an IP Camera in order to have remote access to video.I do not find PORT FORWARDING in the modem configuration. I find NAT, but not port forwarding.
I have an Acer 3810T laptop and am running Windows 7 on it.The problem I've had is my WiFi has been unstable. For example for 5 minutes or sometimes up to an hour I can easily find wifi networks in range of my laptop but then out of nowhere it disappears and I don't find any networks but any other WiFi device will find my router so I know it's laptop related.I did some research on Google and found out this is an issue others have had with Windows 7 and it seems to be something to do with when updates are installed. I followed the advice to remove my WiFi drivers and reinstall them so I downloaded a file for the Intel drivers from Acer's website. I went into Control Panel and removed 2 devices that were related to WiFi. I then did a scan for hardware and found one wifi device, an Intel WiFI Link 5100AGN. I installed the driver for this one. The problem is I know I removed two and this is the only one the scan found and I can't remember the name of the other wifi device/driver I removed.Unfortunately ever since I did this my WiFi isn't working. In the control panel it shows all drivers are installed and working but when I click on the bars at the bottom of my screen no wifi networks show. I have tried going into the Network and Sharing Center and for example I select set up a connection or network and when I select Manually Connect to a wireless network it states "An Unexpected Error Occured" so I know something is missing that's allowing the WiFI to work.
We pay for the 12 Mbps package from Comcast and speedtest.net shows that we get a roughly 18 - 19 Mbps connection. We have 4 computers connected to the network, one hard-lined and three wireless.
Usually it is not a problem for my roommate and I to play online games like TF2, Eve, Minecraft, L4D2 with C3 voice chat on our desktops while I simultaneously stream something from Netflix across my laptop.
Lately though, something has changed.
Now, whenever I am using my desktop and playing a game or downloading something (at roughly 2 Mbps) it seems to hog ALL of the bandwidth from the other computers on the network as Netflix suddenly begins having buffering issues on my laptop (wireless) and on my roommate's dektop.
As an example:
For the past few days my roommate and I have been trying to play Minecraft, we use C3 to voice chat while we play and I ALWAYS stream something across Netflix while we play. So in this instance we have one hard-lined connection and one wireless connection running Minecraft (across the LAN) and C3 (across the web) and one additional wireless connection streaming video from netflix (NOT HD Video).
This is common usage for us and it has NEVER been a problem in the past, but in the past few days this setup causes my desktop to lose bandwidth which forces my friend out of the game and causes latency issues with the voice chat program (sound breaks up and my roommate hears my voice chat nearly a minute after I've spoken).
Also, it seems that when my desktop (wireless) connection is working fine using around 2 Mbps, it seems to kill my laptop's (wireless) bandwidth and on one occasion the other night seemed to also affect my roommate's desktop (hard-lined) bandwidth while he was watching something on Netflix.
I have a Windows 7 64 bit computer that is connected to the internet through an ethernet cable to a 2-wire modem. Other computers at my home are connected wirelessly but I am not. I do have a NetGear print server and connect wirelessly with it to a printer. I am suddenly getting the notification "Native WiFi Default Profile Connected" even though I have been running the computer for a year without ever seeing this.
Is the wireless USB connection over-riding my ethernet connection? and is it possible to revert to having the ethernet connection be dominant? I prefer the ethernet connection for speed.
I've got a new PC which is now about 4-5 weeks old. It worked great in the first 2-3 weeks, but then the network connection started to be unstable. That means that the connection is lost regularly (in intervals between 15 seconds an several minutes). After it is lost there's an immediate reconnection attempt, which usually is successful. So the connection downtime is mostly inbetween 2-10 seconds. Now that does bother me pretty badly. Especially in online games this leads to many disconnects or lagspikes of up to 10 seconds.
The connection losses always come paired with DPC latency spikes.I switched the LAN cable just to be sure. I updated all drivers (including BIOS). I deactivated all eligible components in the device manager one by one. The only thing I found out: If I disable the network adapter, the latency spikes are gone. But that doesn't work because the connection is gone too. For that network adapter I tried different drivers, various versions from Shuttle and also the latest original driver by Realtek.
i have a ZyXel prestige 650H-31 Model # router and i'm not able to go on to configuration page of the router i tried 192.168.1.1 several times, even after system reboot and router reset, but of no use. I've a wire connection with desktop (RJ-45 port) not USB AND MY PPPoE lights never lit. originally when i entered the gateway 192.168.1.1 it asked me for username & password, since i didn't have the password at that time i tried to reset the router but after that when ever i entered 192.168.1.1 in the browser it never came up with the option to enter user name & password. I've checked all the wires are also connected. I tried prompt command and it showed that timed out thrice and then sent= 4 received= 0 lost= 100%. I had D-Link router prior to it and later connected the D-Link router an i was able to get connected to net and browse normally.
I need to know why I am losing internet connectivity like around nighttime, late. I keep losing internet on both IPv4 and IPv6! It both said "No Internet Access" Then later IPv6 said "No Network Access" That's the problem i am having on my personal laptop computer. I really am furious that I lost internet connection around 12:15, 12:30, 12:50, 1:30, 2:15, 2:30, and 3:30 A.M. i suddenly lost internet right there. And I heard the internet crew shuts down the internet system every nighttime and fixing it. I want to know why they need to fix it, how long will the repairs last ?
Bought the Zyxel Wireless Range Extender to get wifi in farthest rooms in my house but set up is not working because BT have disabled WPS button on Home Hub 3 with my Infinity. Therefore they suggest I try manual set up. This requires browser wtih IP address 192.168.1.2 for Zyxel wireless extender WRE2205, This gives no result (page does not load in IE).
I have my downstairs PC (Windows Vista 64 bit) conncted to a Belkin router. model F5D7632-4. This works without any problems.Upstairs, my son has a PC (Windows XP) that connects via a Belkin USB G Network Adapter, model F5D7050, version 4.000uk. This worked perfectly, too.He has just got a new PC which I have bought from a friend. My friend used the tower of a previous PC my son had, which had died about 4 years back when the PSU blew and took everything out with it, and fitted the motherboard, graphics card, HDD, RAM etc etc (it uses Windows 7).
I downloaded the latest drivers from the Belkin site, installed them, but for the life of me, the new PC will not detect the network connection. At all. It doesn't find anything. So, I unplugged my PC from the router, and plugged the new PC into it. Unsurpisingly, it connected to the net without any problems. The next thing I did was to reconnect my PC to the router, and try my son's new PC wirelessly again with the Network Adaptor, in the same room. Again, it just doesn't find a network at all.The PC detects the Adapter being plugged in and out, and the light is on on it. I even tried his old PC with the Adapter, and that still finds the network perfectly.
I was on the phone to Belkin for 35 mins yesterday, and they went through everything, to no avail. They think the USB slots may be faulty, even though the PC knows when i'm plugging things into them.
i am having real issues with my printer, i have a network of 3 computers and it was attached to a printer that worked fine, i then changed the printer for a new one and i am now unable to find this printer on my network. i have installed drivers on the computers. how do i find the printer. the network works fine with everything else.
My internet comes to D-link 655 wireless router from there I have wired connection, one of the connection goes to a switch from this switch I connect wired devices in my office.Another connection from D-link 655 router goes to another wireless router in my living room which is a Linksys router. My few devices and a laptop connects to this router. My problem is I am not able to see the devices connected to my Linksys router from my office devices
My friend has just got a laptop and when she is at my place it shows that my computer is nearby but message says "Windows was unable to find a certificate to log in to network".
I just got back from vacation and suddenly can't connect to my Wifi network at home with my netbook anymore. It says validating identity but never connects. When I try to repair the connection, it keeps authenticating and then says that windows is unable to find a certificate to log me on to the network. I did some googling and it was suggested to uncheck the Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network box under the Authentication tab in Wireless Network properties. I tried that but then I get an error message saying "The network password needs to be 40bits or 104bits depending on your network configuration".I have no idea what to do or what the problem is. My other laptop works fine from which I have set up this network works fine. My phone seems to work fine, too. I already restarted the router and my netbook but that didn't work either.
Just got this & set it up today. Wanted to buy a couple more in the next few days; but wanted to test out the D-Viewcam service. The application (D-Viewcam) is not able to find my camera.I have 'ticked' the uPNP & the forward; tried to disable it as well. No luck.
Camera 942l is on ver 1.1 D-Viewcam = v 3.2 Both reside on the same LAN
I'm able to view the camera on the browser. And on my phone.
After opening my laptop one day, i realise i can't find any networks. There are usually multiple connections available, be they my neighbours' or mine, but i'm unable to even find them. I'm not given the option to connect wirelessly, but only via cable. I'm not sure whether it's a hardware problem or there's something up with my software.I'm using a Dell Inspiron 1525 which is running on Windows 7 - 32bit.
Three days ago people started complaining that it seemed slow. It's supposed to be 100mbps fully switched, but I'm getting speeds of 2mbps - 12mbps (at most) between two workstations on the same switch (which is just insane). I did happen to notice on a couple of the Mac OS X machines that the send and receive errors are off the charts (50% - 80% error rate)!!! This seems a bit suspicious to me.
I updated the Firmware...then the WRT54GC can't work now,it's power led green and red always,I can't ping 192.168.1.1 via wired or wireless.wireless led shutdown.my laptop can't find any wireless network.
I have a an old router that I changed out when I switched over to fibernet that was just gathering dust, so I decided to include it in my network to extend the wireless range, so the signal is stronger throughout the whole house. Now, the only reason I attach it is to extend the wireless distance, nothing more. Both routers are exactly the same (Zyxel P2602HWT), and the second router is connected through an ethernetcable going to the DSL port. I can connect to the SSID just fine, but it's not actually connected to the internet, only locally (as I can configure the router).I have turned OFF DHCP for the second router, that I only intend to use as a second access point.
Up until recently (4 months ago) my network was fine. However, all of a sudden the network began to drop randomly. Now, the network drops about every 30 mins. Its quite an inconvenience, especially as there are two laptops, a desktop and 2 games consoles running off of the network (not all at once though). I have a Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO router.
I have been using a shared network (5 computers) for 2 years and all of a sudden I cannot access it anymore. It should be connecting to the host computer, CHRIS-PC, but I get an error message that Windows cannot access it. All 4 other computers can access the network fine. I did recently clear some malware off my computer with SpyBot, would that have changed any settings?
Network discovery is on Netbios is enabled Windows firewall is disabled AVG firewall is disabled
I have one hardwired desktop to a WRT610Nv2 with 2 wireless desktops on the network. I used to be able to jump on and off with my PDA and Netbook......now I can't. PDA reports a "Ying-Yang" symbol along with the encryption symbol when locating the network....
