Up until recently (4 months ago) my network was fine. However, all of a sudden the network began to drop randomly. Now, the network drops about every 30 mins. Its quite an inconvenience, especially as there are two laptops, a desktop and 2 games consoles running off of the network (not all at once though). I have a Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO router.

I´m monitoring the total number of concurrent sessions of my ACE 20 (using Cacti), and from time to time, with no discernable pattern, I see an instant drop of sessions to half...I don´t detect any disturbance with our traffic and service, I have no complaints, but it's a very accentuated drop.
I´m able to get 1 or 2 days withouth any suddent drop of connections, and then for no reason I pass from 500.000 to 200.000 sessions in a minute. Then they gradually go up again.
I´ve seen in ACE´s session table that she keeps a great number of half-open, or closed sessions, and those are counted as part of concurrent sessions. Is there any flush on ACE´s table when she reaches a certain number of closed TCP sessions or something like that?
Wireless clients drop off Netgear router - Running a Netgear router in home. Have one desktop PC, 2 printers, 1 Mac and 3 Windows laptop connected. The devices that connect wirelessly will drop of the router in a random way. One printer, an HP all in one, will no longer function and I have to pull the plug to de-energize and restart it. My wireless network is a mess. I have called Netgear and for the first two months they had me change channels and adjust other settings which seemed to work at first but then these symptoms all came back.

Sometimes routing stop working, but after 3-5 minutes all back to normal.When issue occur i can't ssh to 6509_1, but i connect to second 6509_2 (10.0.0.6) and i can ssh to 6509_1 from it.Then form 6509_1 i try to ping my workstation Wireshark on my workstation show that packet arrive. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a network that has a pair of 6500 switches on either end, running HSRP. In between each 6500 are two to three ruggedcom switches. They are connected to each other and the 6500's by trunk ports in a straight line. The 6500's see each other as CDP neighbors, and the 6500's can see the rugged- com as LLDP neighbors (ruggedcom only supports LLDP).
The issue is that randomly devices on the ruggedcoms will drop offline and then come back. The problem is that the devices that drop offline are all in the same VLAN, so it appears like a virus - i.e. one device drops off, then multiple. Eventually the HSRP starts flapping between the two 6500s and this causes havoc on the network.I'm almost to the point of taking a laptop and plugging it into one of the ruggedcom's to see traffic, but the issue is that the ruggedcoms are outside in cabinets that laptops shouldnt be exposed to.
I have a stack of 4 Cisco WS-C2960S-48FPS-L switches running c2960s-universalk9-mz.122-58.SE1 code. One of our network monitoring tools is indicating discards on a certain port on the switch. Upon further investigation I am seeing the Total output drops values change in a very odd manner.

The port utilization is quite low, the highest I've seen over the past 7 days is 3.5% with a polling period of every 30 seconds using Statseeker. Yet the discards are bouncing all over the place.
I've searched though the bugs for 12.2(58)SE1 and didn't see anything.

I've had the router for 3+ months, and was very happy until about a week ago. Since then, it's started doing what many others here have reported: freezing where it's impossible even to access the web interface, requiring a reboot. When this happens, router's SYS and WLAN lights both freeze (either on or off, seems to be random wherever they are at the instant). The other lights continue to flicker. Freezes occur anywhere from half an hour to several hours apart.Network includes three ethernet wired devices (1 computer, 2 Ooma VOIP adapters), 1 TB NTFS hard drive via USB (music storage), 4 wi-fi devices (1 computer, 1 network streamer, 1 printer, 1 Roku streamer).Use the router extensively to stream music from the USB-connected hard drive, but the freezes also happen when not streaming.Have already done a factory reset of the router. Currently running plain vanilla installation except for enabling security settings and the USB drive, and it's still happening.
I have one hardwired desktop to a WRT610Nv2 with 2 wireless desktops on the network. I used to be able to jump on and off with my PDA and Netbook......now I can't. PDA reports a "Ying-Yang" symbol along with the encryption symbol when locating the network....

It's supposed to be 100mbps fully switched, but I'm getting speeds of 2mbps - 12mbps (at most) between two workstations on the same switch (which is just insane). I did happen to notice on a couple of the Mac OS X machines that the send and receive errors are off the charts (50% - 80% error rate)!!! This seems a bit suspicious to me.

Have a ZyXEL 600 wireless router - it has worked without issues for years.However yesterday evening my wireless router suddenly stopped broadcasting a signal. 2 different PC's and a wifi dongle attached to our TV were suddenly all unable to find my network.The WLAN light on the router was still lit up. I connected my Acer Aspire 5742Z laptop to the router via an ethernet cable and it worked fine. I connected to the router and it said there were no errors.

It randomly gets disconnected from my router (Zyxel P-2601HN-F1) and home network, works fine though if i using cable. View 1 Replies View RelatedWe've had Cisco 1252 APs running on PoE (3750E gives the port 20W of power) for well over 3 years with no problems. These have not been touched, moved or configured since they went in.
All of sudden we're seeing these APs drop off the network and investigations reveal that they show as IEEE PD when you do a show power inline.
Some of these are slated to be replaced after the ports were changed, the cables replaced and port reset (also an old spare 1252 was inserted in to one of these ports and it came up fine, indicating an issue with these APs).
If it was one or two then maybe I could believe that the APs are at fault, but with so many (10 so far) I'm struggling to believe it. Could it be the code we are running on the switches? We are running 12.2(50)SE3.

The other day I went to a friends house, came back home, booted up my PC, and my wireless network adapter wasn't working. I've tried everything to fix it.It's a D-Link DWA-525 802.11n Wireless PCI netowrk adapter. On device manager it just says 802.11 Wireless LAN Card with a yellow exclamation next to it. And when I check what the error is, it's either error 31 or 52 at different times, depending what I've tried to do to fix it.I tried downloading the driver for it off the D-Link website, nothing happens at all when I install it. I tried taking it out of my computer and plugging it in. I tried enabling it and disabling it on device manager.I noticed one thing, when it's in my computer the green light at the back that says activity next to it isn't on.

Once rebooted i am able to connect again to the internet with no problems, interestingly enough my main PC never loses connection. I also have another router, a Linksys WRT54G with DDWRT firmware with WAN connected to the modem/router. The linux web server has a static IP, configured with /etc/network/interfaces The network goes down randomly. Disconnecting and rebooting the linux web server usually fixes it. It's possible that the WRT54G could be at fault as well.The problem is that I just don't have any information on what is happening on the network. (Well even if I had the information, I'm not sure I would know what to do with it) I installed wireshark, I figure I should just leave it running until the network goes down, then I can go through the packets and see if I see anything weird?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Belkin "ADSL 2+ Model with Wireless G" router suddenly stopped allowing wireless access this afternoon - right in the middle of use - although the wired connections to that router still work fine. No settings seem to have been changed on the router, and I'm the only one with access. Two phones and a laptop that normally work fine just won't get an connection. The laptop - running windows 7 - says the configuration saved did not match what the router was asking for. I tried another computer that doesn't normally connect by wireless and was prompted for a WEP key - which is odd because the router is configured for WPA/WPA2 AES access with a 9 character pre-shared key. After trying a key unsucessfully I haven't been able to get that prompt up again.Meanwhile I've gone into the router settings and it's definitely set to ask for WPA/WPA2. There are some WEP keys specified if I use the drop-down menu to select WEP, but I can't get any device to prompt me to enter one now.

The router had worked fine until suddenly no internet access. Mac network diagnostics show that the connections are correct until the ISP and Internet which show either yellow or red.
The router's homepage shows no changes in configuration. Ethernet connection works fine.
All of a sudden my WRTP54G won't connect. I'll pull the plug for a minute and let it reset, and it will connect for about a minute before it drops again. I checked the Linksys site but it looks like new firmware is not available - only user manuals.

-I have emptied all cache, cookies, etc.

-I can load both sites from other networks, however two different computers using my router fail to load these two sites.Until a couple days ago I was able to access both of these sites regularly, and I haven't installed anything or changed any settings on my computer.The fact that two different computers cannot load these sites seems to indicate that it is a router problem.
I am cascading a wrt160n (R1) and a wrt160nl (R2) which are hooked up LAN port to LAN port (via a DLink power line adapter). R1 is hooked up via dhcp to the internet. View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently own a Lenovo Thinkpad x201 Tablet Laptop.The issue is that I randomly lose internet access after usage for some time. I've determined [but not limited it to] that the computer heating is causing the computer to automatically disable the connections. I've looked at the Drivers and have found that one of the Drivers disables itself and will not re-enable when I try to enable it again. When I try to reboot, it stalls on the Shutting Down screen indefinitely [I must force restart].

I've checked the BIOS, but I haven't found much of anything. After tampering for a while with it, I received a BSOD. After trying to boot it back up, I got the "a disk read error has occurred" screen and had to send it in... at which point they reinstalled the OS, wiped my hard drive, and sent it back.
When I click on certain links, the webpage doesn't load, and I can't access that page only until going to it later.
Sometimes it says "no data received" and sometimes it gives the usual page for no internet connection
My PC at work has started disconnecting from the network one to 3 times per day and I haven't been able to figure out why. At first I thought that it was my switch so I plugged the wire directly into the wall and it still disconnected Then I thought it must be a bad networking card so I replaced that yesterday and it disconnected again. Like I said, it only happens a couple of times per day which wouldn't be so bad except that sometimes I have a Citrix session going or my Great Plains Dynamics program open and I have to go kick myself out of those sessions.
